"Really? NO KNOWLEDGE Of him?"
"None at all! None at all... We just... found him off on the roadside. Kabanaska, I recalled? Or well, what's left of it anyway. Haven't the faintest it belonged to such an infernal demon... Had we known about it, we'd leave it for dead on the hillside...!" Johanne's struggling to keep his composure, his teeth gnashing underneath his lips, keeping that wide grin to be as polite as possible. Axel was beginning to chuckle a bit, seeing the endurance he was forced to do after being confronted. Bronx was able to keep to himself, but a faint smile was hidden amidst such darkness, enjoying it as much as his enemy was.
"Right... so now that you KNOW of this, you're going to ditch him, yeah?"
"W-well, we would if we didn't build our ship AROUND the beast! With such variety of effects, we made our shuttle as open as possible, brute force and all that, I suppose! Why bother with such necessities if we have a living swiss army knife, am I right? We'd be set back for a while if we didn't..."
"So you're keeping him. You know what that means, right?" The Biblical Sorcerer can see the man gripping his own knees tightly, his fingernails piercing into his clothing, losing more and more of his kind demeanor, but still remained to keep that smile.
"Y-yes, I suppose that would cause problems. I did said, after all, we'd be indebted to you. Any price you're willing to have us pay, we shall do so in full! Trust me, you'd want to have some allies after all the scuffle you may-"
"SCUFFLE, YOU SAY? Weird, I don't recall SAYING about the other teams, have I? What you guys think, did I said something about them?" Solomon turns his head to see the two children shake their heads, disapproving Johanne's words then and there. The Biblical Sorcerer's gaze was like a blade to the throat, catching him in such wares. It was here that Bronx decided to get up, cracking his neck a bit and walked up to them, patting Johanne by his shoulder. He could sense such tensity in the air, watching as the man would calm down and take a seat.
"You're gonna give him a heart attack at this rate with all these questions." He'd joke, but was quick to lean down and meet on eye level with them. "Here's my deal, considering he's not going to let up his wants. 3 Wishes. No more, no less. Treat it like you're asking a Djinn or something. The first is because of the back-up you gave us in Calibren. The second is after dealing with Carta. The third is dealing with Johanne. Once those wishes are up, we're even. You can do whatever you want in them, hell I'd even argue you can have me shoot him right here and now. You want that for your first wish?" His confidence was as strong as his words, and it's what brought a smile on the children's faces.
"Nah, but we'll keep that in mind."
"Thanks for the drinks by the way! See yah when we start racing!" Solomon and Stolas were in sync with how they finished their sentences up, with Applin waving goodbye as she carted the material over. Once they left, Axel broke down in hysterical laughter, as Johanne would take some deep breaths. Bronx checked his notes to see what was different, knowing his group the most.
"Solomon Jedinyah - 13 Years old"
"January 3rd - TBA"
"Book Magic, Shadow Magic."
"He really set you off that much, did he?" Bronx taunted, storing the paper away.
"HE SURE DID! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! HE WAS SO CLOSE TO BREAKING AND CHOKING THAT KID, I'M SURE OF IT! I would NOT Let that happen to me, personally. At that point, you might as well harpoon the boy and sink him at the bottom of the ocean!" Axel added. Such comments would get a stern gaze from Janie, but Johanne was able to pat her shoulder and let her take ease.
"You boys are very lucky to see such display. I trust your Devil has gave you a direct demand? In that case, I expect you to carry it out in full. No questions asked. No objections made. You're a hunter, thus your job..." Johanne's tone was quieter, concrete even. Even with such a smile finally able to simmer down, he still keeps his face hidden away.
"...Is to hunt, I know. I already felt that tug at my heart thanks to it. I'm just surprised he's conveniently asking for his head after being pinned to a corner like that. Methinks you may need to work on timing next time you get pushed around like that. Axel knows that. I know that. Surprised you didn't." Bronx's taunt triggered another strain, but he was able to keep his smile, even for a moment. As they bickered and teased one another, the children were finally able to reach to their base, seeing Adel already getting to work on such modulations, his eyes wide as he saw the new material. Taking such ideas to heart, the arrow-like ship became bulkier, wider with such boosts and wings, allowing it to be split off and directed easier when adapting to the black sea of stars above. With such jewels, they got to work on enhancing the ship further, as well as having a new name for themselves with such gifts.
Team Treasure.
Final enhancements have been made, with the sleek material shining across the forest. As all ships are prepared, each participant is granted their personalized suit to put on and venture to the Space Race. All teams have been given a check to prove they are ready, with Galileo cracking up his body and winding himself up to announce the beginning.
Never has there been more tension than now to shoot for the stars and be the first to dance in the realm above.
