Chapter 395 - Chapter 395: Shoot to Thrill

"Toon Magic, eh? Damn does that suck for you..." Axel was way far off from the two's squabble as he watched the fight go down. He'd be quick in shuffling a deck of cards and playing Solitaire on the branches, his peripheral vision just enough to let him keep his sights in case it changes its mind. "Usually that'd be applied in stuff like shows or movies. You'd have to extract the cartoon itself and integrate its lil' whackfest in your body like a transplant. Odds are that you don't usually recover all that well once it's implanted in you. Warped mind, warped sense of time, hell, you may even be a psychopath and fall under its own illusion of everything being just a toon. You won't even know the catastrophe goin' down, just the plain ol' slapstick people knew and love." He'd be quick in using his magic to draw the right cards needed to put them in its place, each stack set up and moved accordingly to either another card or a free space if the set was complete.

A Game of chance, where he himself rigged it. Luck Magic.

"However... That's not your magic, is it, kid?" He'd pause himself as he looked at a card, the 7 of spades. He'd tilt his head as he gazed at the suit, then back at the scuffle, where the black hole was being made. "Yeah... Seems he got it. The lil' treasure in Libros de Escorial. Jesta told me that someone snuck through there and snagged the Artifact at the dead of night. October 15th, think he told me. This must be the wielder of the deck, eh? Not to mention that he's already mastered its contents enough to get a Final Gambit in there... You weren't kiddin' when you said he's the one, Devil." He'd chuckle a bit as he'd make his way down from the tree, his full suits completed once he put down the 7 of spades and kept on with his game to its end. He'd take out his cane once more, Midas, and tapped twice at the ground, letting the gold quickly infect and envelop the ground. "Well then, looks like I need to play secret agent here. Kid's gotta die, in both threatening Sozo's ploy... And as a one-way ticket for Jesta's show. Lucky day for me!" He'd be quick in allowing the gold to seep down to the earth, sinking the man deep inside, as he'd wait.

Meanwhile, Harvard would already grab ahold of Bronx's barrel and began to spin, holding the man as he moved like a top across the terrain, a human buzzsaw that cuts through as many trees as he could find. Such a gun was positioned in such a way where it was physically impossible to pull the trigger, making Bronx try to hold his ground and see if he can shake off the wild boy. No matter how much he moved or how hard he slammed the barrel in the earth, he wouldn't let go. As he struggled, he would notice off the corner of his eye the shimmering gold. He'd smirk as he'd move himself to the area, sacrificing his own body and dunking himself into the pool of metal. Harvard would try to bounce off, though the gold was quick in infecting him first, quickly making its way up his legs and into his thigh. Bronx merely used his gun to fire an explosive round once the child let go, injuring himself, sure, but not only saving his own life, but made more of the gold scatter and coat his chest and left arm, as it began to invade further and further.

It was starting to not be funny anymore. His senses would come back once such severity was happening.

SHIKK!!! SHIKK!!!!

Without a moment to spare, Harvard immediately lobbed off the infected body parts, just at the right moment before it struck any of his vitals. He'd reach out and grab ahold of a tree, using the momentum and elasticity of the spring to lift him up, regenerating what he lost, as well as casting a Potion to rejuvenate his energy so he doesn't lose his consciousness. He'd pull the branch back, letting the elasticity take in as he reeled himself. He recognized that this was not a winnable battle. One is capable of stunning him into the contracts, another can possess him with Gold. While alone it feels just as difficult, but manageable, two at the same time means he's guaranteed to die if he even lets one of them hit his body again. He has to retreat and regroup. He could hear the gun cocking, the small shifts in the shrubbery, as well as notice Axel being just below, pointing upwards and letting the metal swarm like locusts.

BOIOIOIING!!!

The boy bounced off the branch like a slingshot, both evading the flurry, as well as parrying the shot, catching it. From here it was as simple as changing its trajectory with the rubber banding, having it hit Axel square in the chest, a gush of blood spilling out, as he'd be trapped in its Contract Magic: A temple of yellow and black, with the sun coming down, cats littered around to act as cameras, ensuring his potential demise. The Gambler merely smirked as he allowed the Gold to return to his body, carefully striking at his body to solidify himself, temporarily killing his own body before the impact was made, in order to tank and survive the destruction. A cheater in death itself.

Bronx scoffed as he'd see Axel surviving his punishment whilst the boy went away. In a way, it felt as if he was the biggest loser of the three, as he wasn't able to succeed in killing anyone. A sharp migraine hits his mind as something tried to come out of his pocket. A Piece of paper fell down to the dirt and grass, unfolding itself, a name written down.

"Harvard Helsing - 13 Years Old."

"October 15th - TBA."

"Card Magic. Monster Magic."

A set of coordinates was placed in the bottom, yet all the text washed out, a new name now taking its place.

"Drima Kelkorex - 32 Years Old"

"September 12th - TBA"

"Toon Magic."

Another set of coordinates for Bronx to read. "...You know, Demon. I want to take a break from all this, right!? You can see it, don't you!?" He'd shout, yet his words merely were left in the air, no response made back. He rubbed his tired eyes as he'd pick up the paper and inserted it back into his pockets. "Whatever... You don't see me as a person, anyway. Why bother arguing with the wielder of the Gun." His sly remark would have him leave the forest, disappointed in himself, but most of all, in the others.

He was sure that this was the fight where he'd die. Where he would finally be at peace.
