I sighed as Uneri continued to look down at the shattered ring below. "As a Marine, you know that not every battle can be won fairly. In a friendly spar, rules are fine. But in war, even if there are rules, those same rules are often ignored."
The look in his eyes remained. I could see that shy child who would easily scare behind those blue eyes, now grappling with the reality of what it meant to be a warrior. "It's just… I want to be better. I want to win on my own merit, not by tricking someone," he admitted, his voice wavering slightly.
I nodded, understanding his struggle. "I get it. You want to maintain your integrity, and that's commendable. But remember, every warrior has to adapt, and sometimes that means using unconventional methods. This isn't just a game; it's about survival and growth. You'll learn to balance your ideals with the necessity of strategy."
"Yeah, but…" he started, looking down at his feet, clearly fighting an internal battle.
