The vendor raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by her flustered reaction. "Sorry. You two seemed so close that I thought you were a couple."
"Do we really?" I mumbled, warmth rising to my cheeks. I glanced at Rosemary. She looked mortified as if she wanted to hide behind some clothes.
The vendor chuckled, clearly caught in the lightheartedness of the moment. "What can I help you two with today? Looking for a dress for a fancy event, perhaps?"
I cleared my throat. "Something that would make my little sister feel like a princess. She's a pre-teen."
She hummed. "A preteen? Isn't that too old to be playing princess?"
"I don't think so," Rosemary said. "Every girl deserves to feel special, no matter their age. Especially during the holidays."
The vendor smiled at her, clearly appreciating the sentiment. "Well said! I believe every girl should have that moment." She turned back to the rack and began rummaging. "I have just the thing!"
