"It is important we know about our neighbors, no?" I said, shrugging a shoulder.
Amaya nodded and eyed the canals again. "Indeed. In both trade and war, it's important to know about the person on the opposite side of the table. Find what makes them tick, learn their needs, their weaknesses."
I hummed. "Then I take it that's how you seemed familiar with our history when we discussed Vadim and Eizan's fight, no?"
"Indeed. Knowledge is a weapon as potent as any sword."
"Papa used to say that all the time!" Raiki chirped.
Amaya smiled at him. "He said it so often that it sometimes got annoying."
I giggled at that and we continued our ride. As we did, my mind went back to Vadim. How was he doing? I hoped he was alright. Hyun-woo seemed like a tough, but fair teacher. But Vadim was stubborn.
"Relax," Palatine's voice echoed in my head.
I smiled slightly. "You can carry on with the history lesson if you'd like."
