Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Attention

Konoha, Death Forest.

Perhaps because it was just the start of the second day, Isagi and the other two, who were fearing an ambush near the tower, didn't encounter any other enemy and smoothly arrived outside the tower.

"We are surely the first ones, right?" Mei had a relieved look on her face, and while gazing at the tower right before her, she couldn't help but ask this question.

The exam she feared might be the most difficult hadn't turned out to be so much; yeah, they had a difficult fight, but things went a lot smoother than she had expected.

"A few years ago someone had managed to clear the second exam in just five hours, so let's not get our hopes too high." Ryota, without any hesitation, poured water over Mei's delight of supposedly having achieved some kind of record.

"They reached it within two hours if I remember correctly." Thought Isagi, as he somewhat remembered from his knowledge of the plot that Gaara and his team had reached the tower within two hours after the start of the exam.

"Well let's head in." Said Isagi, taking their attention, pushing open one of the many entrance doors of the tower before him. As Isagi had anticipated, after entering the tower they were met with words about heaven and earth on the wall, and he and his team were experienced enough to understand what they had to do.

Without hesitation Mei and Ryota opened the heaven and earth scroll they carried, and smoke began to come out of it.

POOF!!

"Summoning Jutsu huh."

Muttered both of them as they recognized the markings on the scroll and tossed it in front of them, and with a burst of smoke a Konoha shinobi donning the chunin jacket appeared before them.

"Congratulations on passing the second exam." The three didn't recognize the chunin before them, some nameless shinobi, though his words mattered more to them, Ryota and Mei clearly showing a look of joy at his words, though Isagi, knowing the outcome already, calm.

"There are still three days before the end of the exam, the tower has resting quarters so you can wait there, food will be provided for the rest of your time here also."

The chunin led them inside the main area of the tower and explained everything that was needed to be. The tower was a safe zone with no danger, so the first thing the three did was head to their own separate room, washing up and then eating their provided meal and finally going to sleep.

When Isagi woke up, the sky outside the tower had gone dark already, and at the door of his room he saw his dinner placed. After the dinner Isagi pulled out a blade from a sealing scroll and, strapping it on his back, sneaked out of the tower without telling Mei and Ryota.

Isagi took advantage of the fact they were not officially prohibited from leaving the tower after passing the exam. Isagi was aware the village would be thrown into chaos a month later, and his strength still wasn't enough to guarantee absolute safety.

And there happened to be some good candidates in the forest for him to enrich his ability column, candidates if he missed this time would not be that easy to encounter again.

The night slowly passed, and with the rise of the sun, the third day of the second chunin exam started.

Swish!

A figure tall for his age, having curly brown hair and a sword strapped on his back, jumped from one tree to another, though on his fair and attractive face a slightly annoyed look.

"Sigh… where can she be?" Cursed Isagi as he had searched almost the whole night and still hadn't found her, annoyed if he missed this chance he might have to wait for years.

BOOM!!!

Just as Isagi was annoyed at his unsuccessful search, an explosion quite near where he was took his attention, and from the magnitude of it, it seemed like a really interesting battle was taking place.

Hiding his presence to the best of his ability, Isagi changed his course and headed in the direction of the battle, and in a matter of minutes arrived at the battle point. Peeking out from behind a tree, Isagi was exposed to the situation, quite a few familiar faces before him.
