Minutes passed by but they felt like hours, sitting and waiting. Eventually, a scream was heard and Sa-Na winced, recognising it as a girl she used to do gymnastics with. All the zombies that had been waiting by the door suddenly began to run, following something.
"Whoa, what's going on?"
Suhyeok stood up, allowing Sa-Na's head to rest on Da-Hyun's shoulder instead.
"Where are they going?"
"Why are they leaving?"
One of the guys cautiously opened the door, looking outside to see the zombies running down the hallway. "What are you doing, moron? Close it." Suhyeok told the guy, pulling him back inside.
"Okay, fine. You scared me." He replied, holding the door shut.
Sa-Na's thoughts moved from the zombies and onto her parents. She wondered if they called would they come. They were busy people and rarely had time to speak to her let alone come help from a zombie attack.
A small argument pulled her back into reality and she looked up, seeing what was happening. "What do they think it's a prank and decide not to come?" The guy asked and Sa-Na's eyes moved to Cheong-San.
"Well, they will try again!" Na-Yeon exclaimed. "And tell them to hurry up!"
"Shh. Stop yelling." Ji-Min whispered harshly. "What if those zombies come back?"
"Give me that." On-Jo grabbed the phone from Cheong-San. She moved over to the window and began calling someone.
While she called someone, Sa-Na reached into her shirt, pulling out a necklace that was wrapped around her neck. It had a photo of her Suhyeok and Da-Hyun on it and the two had bought it for her birthday. They put all their money into it and wanted to do something special for her. In the photo, they were all around fourteen and it showed Sa-Na jumping onto Suhyeok's back while Da-Hyun had jumped onto hers, they all wore matching smiles
She normally held onto it when she felt anxious or down, it somehow made her feel better knowing her friends were there, even if they weren't literally beside her. Her friends were her comfort and they helped her a lot with her anxiety, knowing how to calm her after a panic attack.
"Let's call the cops again." Na-Yeon announced, standing up. "Get them to listen."
"I am, but they won't pick up." On-Jo explained, her phone pressed to her ear.
Na-Yeon looked around the classroom, her eyes finding someone. She made her way over to Nam-Ra's desk, where she had been sat, staring into the distance. "Hey!" Everyone looked over. "Do something." She insisted. "Tell Miss Park to come and help. Do something." Nam-Ra turned to look at her, her face void of emotional.
"What do you expect her to do?" Sa-Na replied as Na-Yeon glared at her.
"I don't know, anything!" Na-Yeon countered. "What have you done as class president?"
"What has this got to do with anything?" Da-Hyun asked the girl in disbelief.
"Huh?" Na-Yeon ignored her and continued to press as Nam-Ra stood up, standing in front of the girl.
"Teachers office?" Nam-Ra asked. "So you just want me to leave now?"
Na-Yeon's mouth trembled slightly. "Well, if you're offering." She retorted.
"You told me to do something. Do you want me to leave?" She quizzed while Na-Yeon remained silent.
"Stop it, you two." On-Jo told the two. "She's only saying that because you're the class president."
"Yeah. You are, right?" Dae-Su added and Sa-Na
sighed.
"So just be patient, okay?" The guy beside him replied, receiving a glare from Nam-Ra. He noticed the look she gave him and turned to look the other way, moving his hand so Dae-Su also looked the other way.
"So stupid. Typical." Nam-Ra mumbled to herself.
"What's typical?" On-Jo asked.
"Now that we are in this mess, I'm your class president?" Nam-Ra questioned, her face as impassive as ever.
"We called the police, so I'm sure we'll be fine soon." Suhyeok explained to everyone as Na-Yeonjun groaned and dramatically jumped up and down like a child throwing a tantrum.
"But no one's coming!" She yelled and Sa-Na chuckled, picturing her throwing a tantrum.
"Enough already. We're all scared too!" Ji-Min exclaimed, being held back by her friend.
"That's why I'm telling them to call!" Na-Yeon pouted as she glared at the girl.
"Will you stop acting like a child when not everything goes your way." Sa-Na snapped.
"Yeah, why don't you do it, then? Ji-Min added,
agreeing with Sa-Na.
"Ladies, ladies, can you just stop the whining?" The boy guarding the door complained and Na-Yeon turned to face him in disbelief.
"Oh, now you're butting in, shithead?" Na-Yeon asked him in disbelief.
"What? Did you just called me a shithead?" He
questioned, standing away from the door. "Call me
shithead, you shithead?" He began to walk towards her causing everyone to panic and rush over to him, grabbing him to stop him from getting to her.
"Hold the door." Suhyeok demanded and when nobody moved he repeated his prior words. "I said hold the door."
"Who the hell does she think she is?" Gyeong-Su questioned, ignoring the boys demands.
Suhyeok repeated his words once again, asking the boy to go hold the door again, fearing the zombies would come back for them. He finally got the message and went to close the door when a bloody hand pressed against the window and someone pulled the door open.
Everyone jumped back in fear, Da-Hyun wrapping her arms around Sa-Na protectively as they all looked over at the new person.
"Coach Kang." Suhyeok greeted as the man slammed the door shut.
"Are you guys okay?" He asked and everyone nodded.
"What about you? You weren't bitten?" Gyeong-Su asked, walking towards the teacher as he shook his head.
"No. Of course not. I'm, I'm all right." He explained, turning to look at the door and then back at the
students. "Hey, guys. Let's block the door first." When nobody began to move, just staring at him suspiciously he repeated the demand. "Get moving. Hurry. I'm fine. Let's move this."
Everyone stood up and began moving desk, chairs, anything they could find to place against the doors and windows, leaving only the large windows vacant. Everything was going okay until Da-Hyun pulled Sa-Na away from the man. She turned to her friend confused until the girl pointed to the man's arm.
"He's been bitten." Da-Hyun whispered.
"Coach Kang." I-Sak called out, also noticing the man's bite mark.
"Your arm." On-Jo added quietly.
"What are you doing? Come help us?" Coach Kang demanded, ignoring the four girls who had stopped moving.
"You have a bite mark on your arm!" On-Jo yelled making everyone stop what they were doing.
Their eyes moved to look at his arm, noticing there was in fact a bite mark on his arm. Everyone moved back, trying to put as much distance between themselves and the infected man.
"I wasn't bitten." He insisted, hurriedly moving to cover his arm. It was too late, they'd already seen it. "I, I wasn't bitten."
"It's a bite mark." Sa-Na commented, rolling her eyes. "We all saw it."
"I said it isn't. Don't talk back to me. Okay?" Coach Kang exclaimed and the girl jumped slightly.
"It looks like you were really bitten." I-Sak told him.
"I wasn't!" He yelled. "How many times must I tell you?"
"Then why the fuck are you hiding your arm. Just show it to us to prove we are lying then." Sa-Na moved forwards, looking at the man in disbelief.
"I think you should leave right now." I-Sak whispered.
"She said get out of here immediately." Sa-Na added as he gaped at the young girl.
"You want me to go out there?" He pointed towards the door. "After all I did to get here? You want me to go back out?"
"Holy shit." Sa-Na whispered, staring in disbelief as the man's withering form.
"Guys, we should get out of here as soon as possible." Someone commented as they all stared at the man's body. His bones began to crunch and bend in unnatural ways, causing them to grimace.
"Get him out of here! Hurry!" Na-Yeon yelled at the group from where she sat on the ground, covering her ears. "Hurry. Throw him out."
"You are infected. Come on, leave." Sa-Na continued to argue with the man, worrying slightly that he wouldn't leave. "I said get the fuck out!"
"Cocksucker!" He screamed at her and the girl gulped. "How dare you yell at me like that?" Da-Hyun stepped closer towards the girl, lightly pulling on her arm as he began to step closer towards her. "You little...get over here. Come here! Now!" Sa-Na remained where she was, lightly stepping backwards as Da-Hyun pulled her. "You won't come? Hey." He stepped closer once again and Da-Hyun moved Sa-Na behind her.
"Hey, hey, hey." Dae-Su worriedly commented as they all tried to stay away from their teacher.
His nose began to bleed and Da-Hyun and Sa-Na moved another step backwards while the others grabbed chairs or moved back. The black haired girl looked down, noticing a bag beside her and she pulled out of her friends hold, grabbing the bag and raising it above her head to throw at the man.
Everything went silent for a moment and then he turned around. Da-Hyun and Suhyeok ran towards the girl, pulling her behind them as the man snarled at her. "You fucking bitch."
"Watch it!' Suhyeok yelled as the man stepped forwards before dropping to the ground.
He began to growl and crawl over to a girl, biting into her face. Dae-Su ran over, picking the zombie up and pulling him off the girl while the man clawed and tried to fight his hold. He threw him into the cupboard, turning to look at the girl with a horrified expression. Blood was fresh on her face and there were bite marks on her face.
"Min-Ji." Someone whispered as Coach Kang began to growl.
"Dae-Su. I can't..." she mumbled weakly. "I don't want to die."
Coach Kang began to stand up, snarling at the students as his bones cracked. He paused for a moment before rushing over to Suhyeok, receiving a scream of
