Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Introduction

The sun illuminates through the streets of Versai, a reminder to all that a new day has come. Most are glad to get started through their day, but for others it is a dreadful reminder of their status in society. The populace of Versai is hardly diverse as most are human, but the tiny shard the in the pie chart, are chimera. Some view Chimera as divine blessings from God, others view them as detestable beings who are lesser than humans, but the majority view them as nothing but tools and weapons to be used and thrown away whenever it is deemed necessary.

Joshua Brexit is one such chimera, although it is unbeknownst to him at this point in time as of course, how would a sniffling baby boy even understand the concept? Once we enter through the doors of "Piggies Meat and Entertainment" an odd butcher shop to most who enter; we can hear the cries of a baby in the back. once you move past the various saws, knives, and protective clothing. You can enter through a door which stairs would lead down to the real money maker "Piggies Clinic and Cafe" home to where some of the criminal underbelly would go to when visiting the hospital isn't exactly an option. This time however is a special case, this is the first time that the owner of Piggies Meat and Entertainment and Piggies Clinic and Cafe 'Aaron Rogers' would ever operate on a pregnant woman.

She had come to him three months ago inquiring about the legitimacy of his operation, clearly not about the legality side of the business but whether they were any good at what they do. Aaron Rogers was surprised by the question, he had made it so early on for those that do come to him for his 'Expertise' would leave knowing that PCaC wasn't affiliated with any faction, so they were safe against any agenda which made their reputation grow as a reliable place to go to for those who knew about it. In order to keep the place as neutral as it was, Aaron had to make sure he only dealt with low time criminals and whenever there was almost a run in with a faction, he made sure to make it so they would seemingly just forget about his little operation.

Aaron shook off the surprised look on his face and proceeded to reassure her "Whilst I can't provide you any proof of my successes, I can assure you I have plenty." Aaron stood up from his chair and maneuvered around his big desk thinking 'I was an idiot getting a desk almost as big as the whole office. Get the big desk they said, it'll make you look more intimidating and successful to the clients they said.' As Aaron made his way past the desk the pregnant woman 'Nyla Brexit' had quickly got up and moved to the wall with her hands hastily reaching for her shoulder holster underneath her jacket. Aaron quickly put his hands up with one hand out towards her and said "Woah there calm down Ms. Brexit! I'm merely coming to show you where the magic happens." It was such a sudden reaction from Nyla, very odd behavior from a normal person, even the most erratic person he ever operated on at least waited until they were seriously injured and even then, that reaction was justified when you have just gotten shot or had a limb missing. Nyla looked at him up and down before putting her hands by her side again, although she didn't get to pull it out in time, she had a P226 in her leather shoulder holster. They stood in silence for a couple of seconds before she had apologized "I'm sorry, it's been a uh... rough couple of months for me."

Aaron Rogers put his hands down and gave out a deep sigh before saying "Phew, that could've gone bad huh? Maybe I should start a mental health clinic too.." Nyla awkwardly gave a laugh before Aaron opened the door and had her follow him to the clinic section of his business. It was actually pretty big and well designed for it being under a butcher shop, although it was almost blinding, almost everything was white. The floors were white, most of the furniture and equipment were white, the only thing that had been left out of color white were the walls which were painted baby blue. Before she could ask Aaron, spoke and said "It's all a wonderful snow white so that we can easily see if any place in here is dirty. I wouldn't want anyone to get sick in my care, so I have this place cleaned daily when it's not very busy." The entrance area was filled with some couches, and a receptionist desk; behind said desk was some chocolate cakes, strawberry cakes, muffins, cupcakes, a coffee maker, and a gift card that had a smiling doctor giving two thumbs up. Nyla was speechless.

As they moved past the entrance area there was a room that spanned the longest Nyla's ever seen. There were at least 20 other rooms connected to the one room they entered, Aaron spoke up and said "These rooms are all private and are kept with a fingerprint lock that only I and the client will have access to. Although they're all very close to one another, there's window tints on each one of the door's glasses which allow the client to peer out whilst we cannot peer in. The rooms are also have noise cancelling panels so if it works you won't be able to hear anything outside of the respective room. I haven't had any complaints about noise so far so who knows if it works. I'm typically inside the rooms y'know? Anyhow let's enter one of them so you can pick your favorite! Don't worry, they're all the same so if you hate one, you hate em all!" As Nyla went through a couple of the rooms she thought 'So he's right about them being all the same but I suppose if you want a lot of medical rooms, you can't exactly be creative with them if you want them done right away. They all look ready to have surgery so I suppose they should be equipped for pregnancies as well..' Nyla looked down at her stomach as she briefly touched it. 'Wouldn't it be easier if I just got rid of you?.. You deserve to live too though... Why did it have to be me?' Nyla sighed as she looked up at Aaron and said "Alright, what'll the payment be for me to have my pregnancy here?" She said as Aaron smiled and brought her back to his office.
