Chapter 397 - 20

The Internships

The students were standing in front of the gates of U.A. waiting to go to their internships. Each of them was excited to go to their respective internships, learn new ways to use their quirks, and increase their potential of becoming heroes in general.

Izuku was bouncing slightly in his place as he held the briefcase which contained his new suit. He was extremely excited to go to the hero that he picked for his internship. This hero was known for going solo most of the time, so when he found an offer for him, he knew he couldn't waste such an amazing opportunity.

Suddenly his vision went dark as he heard someone whisper, "Good morning, Izuchan. Are you excited as I am?" the boy chuckled a little at his friend's behavior.

He quickly replied, "I am. This is so cool; our first internship. I hope we make a good impression on the heroes that we're going to work with." The girl beside him laughed as she said, "Well, I'm super duped to go Edgehsot. I can't wait to see what he's going to teach me."

She stopped talking for a moment before asking, "Since we're on the subject of mentors... You never told me who is the hero that you chose to intern with." She brought her face closer to his in hopes of causing him to spill the beans.

The boy blushed hard and fought really hard to not say anything that might embarrass him so he said, "I'm sorry, Setchan. I told you that it's a surprise that I will tell you once the internships are over." The girl pouted a little as she replied, "Well until then you can keep your little secrets. I don't want to know anymore." She walked away walking sure to sway her hips as Izuku mentally groaned, 'She's definitely going to be the end of me, but I can't help but admire how beautiful she looks.' A huge blush then filled his face as the thought crossed his head.

Izuku shook his head quickly as he ran after her, "Hey, wait up for me." the girl laughed as she said, "Catch up if you can." She ran quickly away from him.

Itsuka then popped in front of her and caught her, "Stop teasing him, Set. The poor guy can't take it anymore." She pointed to Izuku who was panting from running around after her.

Setsuna blushed a little as she said, "Oops, sorry. I think I overdid a little bit. Hope that you can forgive me, Izuchan." The boy began to laugh as he waved his hand telling her that he isn't angry by any means.

Izuku looked up and greeted Kendo, "Good morning, Kendo. I hope that you are ready to go to your internship with Gunhead."

The big fist user smiled brightly saying, "You bet I am. And thank you for helping me pick him instead of my first choice or else I would've wasted my time just playing dress around with Momo. I bet she's also thankful for helping her or she would've gone through the same route."

The boy smiled as he said, "The only thing I want is for you guys to be the best heroes that you can be. I only hope that you don't regret the ones that I helped you pick…" he was stopped by Kendo squishing his cheeks saying, "We won't. I mean you know about heroes more than us by a lot so there is no need for us to doubt you or your knowledge." The girl let him go and he thanked her.

Tetsu then grabbed them from behind and said, "I'm so excited for this. It's going to be really manly. Our first internships with real heroes. How awesome is that?" the boy was punched by Kendo making him rub the newly formed bruise on his head, "What was that for?"

"Stop that. People are staring at us like we're Mineta or Neito from 1-A and that says something." Kendo scolded him, but the metal boy felt hurt when she used Monoma's first name. he quickly shook his head apologizing.

Kinoko said from the side, "I don't think that it's that bad. I mean we have to get used to being recognized by people. Tetsu is just doing it in his very 'Tetsu' kind of way."

The metal boy jumped up grabbing the girl's shoulders and lifting her in the air causing her to squeak in surprise, "That's the spirit, Komori."

Kendo quickly began to feel angry at the scene and smacked him across the head making him put the girl down as Shihai came around and said, "Do that with your own girl." He grabbed Komori and dragged her away to make sure that she was good, while the girl was malfunctioning at the proclamation he just made.

Setsuna smiled as she said, "Well, look at that. the first couple in our classroom formed. It wasn't that shocking given that he was crushing on her hard."

Kendo said, "I don't know. He just seems friendly to me." Setsuna gave her a look that basically asked her if she was that oblivious to romance before she shook her head and walked away.

Komori came back with a blush as Setsuna stood in front of her and said, "How are things with your boyfriend?" the small girl blushed heavily as she denied anything of this sort, while the taller one asked, "So what did he mean when he told Tetsu to harass his own girl?"

Komori replied, "Well, he meant that Tetsu can't just randomly pick me up like that. It's embarrassing…" She then picked her phone up and smirked, "…I think that we should stop talking about my love life since there will be consequences."

Setsuna laughed and said, "OH, do tell; what are tho…" her smirk fell from her face as she saw pictures of her sleeping with Izuku so she added, "You win this round, but this isn't over by a long shot. I will get you and expose your dirty little secrets."

Kinoko sighed in relief as Itsuka said, "You know this will make her more determined to prove that you're both dating." Kinoko shivered as she said, "Then I'm ready to make all the necessary sacrifices to beat her in her own game."

Kendo then asked, "But for real though, are you guys dating?"

Kinoko waved her hands back and forth, "No we're not, I swear. Shihai told me he said that in the heat of the moment, and that he was annoyed by Tetsu bothering me. that's all to it, I swear." Although Kendo wasn't convinced by this, she decided not to bother the girl about this anymore since their teacher has arrived meaning that they will depart for their internships soon.

Vlad stood in front of his class and said, "Kids, today, you're going to your internships. This is considered very beneficial since it will you gain experience not only on the field but also the less than glamorous side that no one sees which is the never-ending paperwork."

The entire class groaned with their teacher, even the ever-religious Ibara groaned in agony.

The man quickly shook his head, "Other than that, I expect you all to be on your best behavior since you are all reflecting the image of U.A. at the agencies that you are going to, so do your best to behave, or else I'll make clean the training grounds after every training session with your own personal toothbrush, got it?"

Everyone nodded their heads in fear of the threat, as the man said, "Then I wish you all a happy week, and I hope you all use this opportunity to the fullest. Now, get to the trains that will take you to the cities where the agencies are located."

Everyone began to walk, but Izuku was able to get a glance at their class sister's vice, and he seemed that he was a bit off to him, but he shook his head and focused on what was on hand.

Setsuna was going to Kamino given that Edgeshot's agency was there, Kendo was going to Osaka, Tetsu was going to Tokyo city where the agency of Fourth Kind was, Kinoko was going to an agency that was located in the countryside where Green Peace the hero that she chose was located, while he was heading toward Shika.

The boy gave his friends last-minute goodbyes as he boarded the train, and began the journey to the hero agency that he chose. It was mostly a peaceful trip with him dozing off once every few minutes. The boy began to wonder what will he learn during this internship as he asked himself if the hero was going to give him some good lessons given that they rarely asked for anyone to intern with them or work with them in that regard. Izuku supposed that he was lucky.

When the train arrived at its destination, the boy quickly went to the agency. Now he stood in front of it with a huge smile as he said, "Finally, I'm here. The rabbit hero: Miruko. I hope that I can learn everything that I can from you."

The hero-in-training was sitting in front of his table as he was scrolling through different offers. He looked through them and began to put them in different categories 'unneeded' which was his nice term to say that this internship would be worthless and of no value to him while others were labeled good, mediocre, or finally high priority.

The boy slumped back as he couldn't see anything yet that crossed his interest. He looked and saw a couple of promising internship offers, but it wasn't what he was looking for exactly.

Right now, he had ten agencies that he handpicked from a huge group and was looking at them. They were Gran Torino, Endeavour much to his dismay, Edgeshot, Best Jeanist, Gang Orca, Death Arms the same person who berated him a year ago surprisingly sent him one, Ryukuu, the Wild Wild Pussy Cats which might give him experience in rescue cases, Hawks for some reason, and finally Majestic a fast-rising star in the hero world.

It was hard to pick. Each had something that they can give him. Gran Torino was All Might's teacher so the experience might be useful. Endeavor might help him control percentages much better given that the hero needs to control the heat of his flames so he might help him how to keep alternating from low to high and vice versa. Edgeshot will help him be quieter and more sneaky, and so on…

The boy threw everything away in frustration as he said, "I give up. I don't know what to pick."

He slumped to the floor as a depressed aura surrounded him. his mother watched with a hand on her hip as she went away muttering, "Sometimes, I swear that he's just a drama queen." She shook her head fondly remembering when she was the same when it came to making decisions.

The boy then looked up and began to scroll through his offers once more hoping to find something worth the effort, but still came up empty-handed. He smashed his head against the table since having 5000 offers isn't something to sneeze.

As he looked down at the ground, he saw an internship at the base of the table he was sitting at. He summarized that it must have fallen out of his bag at some point. He slowly picked it up and read it.

His eyes went wide as he read the name on it; Miruko. From what he knew about her, she never works with anyone or even gives internships for that matter. At that moment, he began to see what he can gain from her. The woman was known as a battle hungry manic but was also strong, speedy, and sneaky given that her fighting prowess is all about kicking people's butts and handing them over to the police.

At that moment, he knew who he had to intern with.

The boy smiled, "Come on, I have to enter it. I can't wait anymore. The rabbit agency here I co…" The boy didn't get to finish the sentence as the doors opened and something kicked him in the gut making him kneel over.

He looked up and saw a tanned lady with a muscular build looking down at him with a smirk. She had rabbit-like features. The woman said, "Lesson one, squirt; never let your guard down. That's a sure way to have a one-way ticket to the graveyard. Lesson two; always expect the unexpected. Lesson three, if I see looking at me like some pervert, I kick you so hard that you'll never have kids anymore, got it?"

The boy gave her a shaky thumbs-up as he regretted the life choices that led him to this moment.

The rabbit hero smiled and introduced herself, "As you already know, I'm the rabbit hero: Miruko. My real name is Rumi Usagiyama. And for the next week, I'll be kicking you into shape and making sure that you become a good butt-kicking machine. Don't worry, I received everything to know about you. Now, come on. Stand up. I didn't put much force into that kick so stop squirming as if I hit you with a mallet."

The boy slowly stood up picking his suitcase and followed the rabbit hero into her agency.

The rabbit hero looked back at him, "I have to say good work back at the sports festival, and nice fight against boom-boom boy. You sure ended the fight with a memorable stance if you ask me." the boy blushed a little.

"But there is something that I need to address before we do anything," the boy looked at her curiously as she yelled, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU TRIED TO IMITATE MY MOVES? THEY WERE SO HORRIBLE AND NOT CENTERED. IF IT WAS A REAL FIGHT, YOU WOULD'VE GIVEN YOUR OPPONENT AT LEAST 6 OPENINGS TO END YOU."

The boy shriveled onto himself as he thought, 'But I thought I did well.'

He was shocked when the rabbit hero said, "Well sorry to burst your bubble, but you didn't. The form was horrible. The execution was lazy at best. And don't remind me about how after each move, you needed like 5 seconds to regain your form."

The boy began to take notes as the woman was still criticizing him. She finally stopped as she said, "…so I will test your abilities personally after I send you to your room. you are to meet me in the training room so we can spare together. And from there it will be a different story."

The boy nodded his head as the woman guided him to his room, gave him a map of her agency, and said, "You have 15 minutes to finish and be in the training room. consider this your first task. If you don't manage to do that, I'll make you sweep the rooftop with your tongue." She shut the door before opening it again and affirming her previous words, "And I really mean it."

The hero boy shivered as he opened his suitcase and looked at his new suit and smiled remembering when it was finally finished. Mei really outdid herself in making the suit; he was lucky that he made her his personal suit designer. He remembered when he first tried it out.

Izuku was running to the support course with Setsuna hot on his tail. Both of them wanted to see their upgraded suits, or in Izuku's case new suit. They finally reached the lab, but when Izuku went to knock on the door, he remembered his last painful encounter there so he knocked on the door and quickly moved away. Once he saw the coast was clear, he tried to open the door with Setsuna beside him. big mistake as a huge explosion engulfed them sending them to the ground as a weight landed on Izuku.

The boy blushed heavily as he saw Mei's chest in front of his face with the girl saying, "Hey there, Mr. 10 million. We should really stop meeting like this or people might get the wrong idea. I bet you're both here for your suits." The two of them nodded although Tokage was still in a daze, so the pink-haired girl said as she stood up, "Follow me quickly."

The two heroes-in-training entered the room carefully and they ducked when they heard another explosion with Powerloader yelling at Mei to quit fooling around.

The man looked at them both and said, "Follow me, if you don't want her to blow you up anymore." The two nodded their heads quickly as Powerloader said, "Girl, you're in luck we managed to make your new suit, so you try it first given that you know all of the kinks in it."

He gave her a suit and she went into a changing room inside the lab, and came out with a smile as she said, "How do I look and be honest?"

The boy gave her a thumbs up as he blushed from how form-fitting the suit was.

The girl walked around with it as she said, "I don't feel any different except for the blades and small smoke bombs embedded in my wristbands now." the girl checked them out and she had to say that they were made with great precision.

Poweloader then said, "Disconnect your body and use the edges of your pieces to hit the target over there." The girl shrugged and disconnected 5 pieces of her body and attacked a dummy.

When she stopped, she noticed that the buddy had small cuts all over its body. The girl smiled as she said, "Cool. That will definitely give the edge in a fight."

Powerloader smiled, "Well, that's not all the sweet has been designed to make the edges sharp but not lethal so the edges are coated with a numbing agent that temporarily paralyzes anyone it comes in contact with, plus they can connect with any piece."

The girl tilted her head as Powerloader explained that any part of her suit due to the new edges can connect kind of like a rope, but that won't help her regarding the reset time, since this feature is more like a Lego feature where any block can be connected with the other.

Powerloader then threw Izuku his new suit and told him to go and put it on for a test drive.

Izuku disappeared for a couple of minutes before reappearing with his new suit. The new suit was similar to the old one with the green tight bodysuit with some white linings on it. on his waist, there was a belt filled with various goods. His breathing All Might-looking smile mouth guard was now replaced with a breathing apparatus which had a mute opinion to keep his thoughts to himself. Finally, the gloves that he was wearing were made so that they can pressurize the air from his finger flicks and concentrate instead of making it a full-range attack with some weird contraption built into it.

Setsuna blushed upon seeing him and began whistling toward him making Powerloader shake his head as he asked Izuku to test it out. like Tokage, the boy used his finger flicks which instead of being wide-range attacks were more concentrated.

The boy smiled, "This is awesome. Thanks, Powerloader for making me this amazing suit."

The man raised an eyebrow as he said, "And who said I made it?" this made the two hero students confused as the man pointed at Mei and say, "She stayed up day in and out making it for you especially the built-in features in your gloves from the electric cable to the stunning capture nets."

He narrowed his eyes, "Although she seems nothing more than a loose cannon at first glance, Hatsume is one of the most brilliant inventors. Look over there," he pointed to a corner full to the brim with support items, "she made all those by herself only in a couple of weeks so if I were you, I'd stick close to her because she's the real deal when it comes to support gear."

The two students nodded their heads as they went back to testing their suits.

The boy quickly put on his suit and looked at the clock and saw that he still had ten minutes left to go to the training grounds or else he will seriously get it.

The boy exited the room and quickly ran to the training grounds. It was on the 27th floor of the building while his room was on the second, so he activated his quirk at 5% to reach it faster.

Once he was there, he went to open the door but remembered what happened upon his arrival, so he cleverly stuck to the side of the wall and pushed the doors open. Once he saw the coast was clear, he entered the training ground with confidence only to be met with a foot to the head as Miruko scolded him, "Nice job, kid. But you let your guard down too soon. Kudos on trying to check the door though."

Izuku stood up as he rubbed his head and looked at the bunny hero. The woman walked around the room and grabbed something. It was a small whistle. She put it around her neck and said, "Listen here, I'm going to give you a small test. I want you to try and take this whistle from me. I'll do nothing, but stand still or dodge you and I won't attack. All you have to do is take it from me in about 5 minutes after that I'll join on the beating."

The boy gulped as the hero raised her arm and lowered it, meaning the challenge has begun.

The boy activated his quirk and charged it up to 15%, dashed toward the woman, and stretched his hand to grab the whistle only for the bunny woman to jump upwards causing him to go headfirst into a wall. When he looked back, he could've sworn he saw her eating a carrot.

The boy stood up once more and began bouncing around the room to get a better vantage point and a place from where he could outsmart her. the boy thought of something.

He jumped into the air above and pretended to perform an axe kick, but once he was in close range he flicked his fingers and sent him to the side of the room as the rabbit hero jumped away from the fake kick. Once he was in position, he jumped toward her, but she dodged once more winking at him making blush and smash headfirst into the wall once more.

The boy stood up and groaned. He kept trying and trying, but to no avail. The rabbit woman was just too elusive. Every time he thought he got her, she somehow managed to dodge him or block him from getting the whistle.

"Ugh," Izuku groaned after trying 45 failed. The boy looked at the clock and noticed that he still had about 1 minute. The boy stood up and began to do some calculations.

The boy quickly thought of something to get the whistle. He now had one chance to get it, so he can't fail under circumstances. The boy rushed at her and jumped above the woman who looked at him. he then flicked himself to the side of the room, and landed on a wall facing her.

The boy quickly charged straight to her as he readied a fist to punch her, but once she jumped into the air to avoid him the boy smirked as he changed the direction of his hand and flicked the ground sending him into the air as he twisted his body and was right in front of her and was about to kick her till a beeping sound was heard.

The woman smirked as she grabbed the leg and threw him to the ground before she fell in front of him as she said, "The real test begins now." the rabbit lady threw herself at him quickly readying a kick as the dodged under it and jumping away as it hit the ground causing a small crater.

The woman smiled at him as she said, "Nice reflexes, but it's far from over."

Izuku smiled as he said, "but I won already." The woman was confused till she grabbed her neck and noticed that the whistle was not there. "When we were in the air, I flipped on purpose to take the whistle, but I made it seem as if I flipped to kick you."

The woman fell over laughing, "You got me there good, squirt, but now let's get real." The boy was confused as the woman stretched her feet as the woman said, "Let's start sparring."

The boy gulped as he took a stance and began to wonder what his friends were doing in the meantime. He hoped that they were having fun as much as he was.

With Setsuna, she finally reached the ninja hero agency. The girl stood in front of the door with a goofy-looking smile although she would never admit it. she walked into the building as the secretary asked her, "Good afternoon, young lady. How can I help you?"

Setsuna replied energetically as ever, "I'm here for my internship with the ninja hero Edgeshot. He sent me one. My name is Setsuna Tokage, and my hero's name is Lizardy."

The secretary began to work on his computer as he finally said, "I see your name is here. Please let me escort you to your room, so you can put your case there and freshen up while I go and inform the boss that you arrived." The girl nodded her head as she was escorted to her room.

the girl entered her room and put her stuff aside. She waited for a bit as the door was knocked and someone said, "Edgeshot is waiting for you in his face. Try not to be late. He likes it when his students are punctual."

The girl quickly stood up from her bed and made her way toward the ninja hero's office. The girl was shocked at how big the building was but managed to keep her surprise to herself.

Once she entered the office, she looked around but didn't notice anyone. She walked around for a bit till she heard something wheezing in the air and passed her head cutting a few strands of hair making the girl extremely panicked.

A voice beside her said, "If I was a real villain and I wanted you dead, you would've been dead. We need to work on your spatial awareness. For someone with a quirk that allows them to see everything around you, you sure have horrible situational awareness."

The girl replied, "You almost killed me. and I can say that I'm in a relatively safe environment…"

"So what will you do if a villain attacked you at home, kneel over, and die." The girl was silenced quickly, "You must know that some villains don't care when or where they attack. You need to be always ready since to some extent no place is safe. I'm not saying that to be paranoid, but to be vigilant."

The girl remained silent as she nodded her head as the hero asked her, "Do you know why I brought you here in the first place?"

The girl scratched the top of her head as she said, "Well, I think mostly because our quirks have some similar aspects, but other than that I don't have any idea. I mean I didn't make it far in the sports festival to attract your attention in the first place."

The hero flicked her forehead, "If the sports festival was a measure for heroics, then your explosive classmate would've been here. No, I don't care about your performance…" the hero stopped a little before clarifying, "…well, I do care, but it's more about how to correct what you were doing wrong. In all of your attacks, for example, you always used big pieces…"

The girl blinked not understanding where he was getting at as he continued, "…what I don't get is why you didn't use small pieces that are harder to get rid of, unlike their huge counterparts."

The girl answered, "Well, I was hoping to get good hits on him, so I thought the larger they are the harder they hit."

The ninja hero shook his head, "If that's the case then my attacks should fail since my strands are very thin. It depends on where you hit them, not how big you hit them. Imagine the next case, you use a small piece and hit someone on a joint or a side of the rib, or a large barrage of pieces that hit him, but can be blown away easily."

The girl nodded her head acknowledging his point of view as he said, "Not that I'm saying what you did wasn't right, but you need to polish it more. Perhaps for example when you tied him up with your pieces, I take that you wanted to lift him outside the field right, but he managed to squirm his way out by explosions, so that means you need to increase your pain tolerance. In addition, we have to work on limiting your recharging time in addition to making it less obvious, since this is what cost you the victory at the end of the match."

The girl smiled happily as she nodded her head excitedly, "I'm ready for everything you have to give me Edgeshot-sensei."

The ninja hero smiled from behind her mask at the enthusiasm as he said, "Alright, let's begin. Go grab your suit and put it on so we can start training and help you with the new upgrades so you can use them to their fullest potential."

The girl nodded as she made her way to her room to change her clothes with the ninja hero shouting at her, "You have 5 minutes to be back here. Don't be late or it's cleaning the sand garden for you."

The girl gave him an affirmative as she ran back to her room with her mind racing.

"Man, I'm really lucky that I chose Edgeshot," Setsuna exclaimed with a smile, "Now, I have to make it to my room, so I can start training."

With that, the training for her officially began.

At Fourth Kind's agency, Tetsu was ordered from the start to get into his suit and meet the hero in his office with another intern that choose the same agency. He was very excited to meet the other intern as he made his way into the hero's office only to meet the last person he expected to see there, "Kirishima?"

The red-haired boy looked at him and replied with the same amount of shock, "Tetsutetsu? What the heck are doing here man?"

The metal teen smiled at his counterpart with a huge toothy grin, "Of course, I joined Fourth Kind because he's so manly." The red-haired teen smiled back at him nodding his head at the statement.

The redhead then exclaimed, "Man, I can't wait to see what Fourth Kind is planning to teach us. I bet he's going to teach us many manly things." The boy fist-pumped the air.

Tetsu went back to reply to him as the door of the office was opened. Both boys looked at the newcomer with excitement as a man with four arms wearing a suit entered the room. he had short groomed hair. His lower jaw was covered by a piece of metal.

The man walked over to his table and sat down calmly. He looked at the two boys and spoke, "Welcome to my agency, boys. I have to say that I was very pleased when we were able to have two offers this year."

The boys nodded their heads in excitement as they bowed thanking him for the opportunity to work with him.

The man then put two of his hands together, "I have to say that you both impressed me during the sports festival, especially the sliver-haired one." Both boys beamed at the praise as the man carried on, "You both have the guts to be a hero, however being a hero isn't about how hard you punch your way through an iron door, but it's about how you serve your community and go back to society, so this week you'll be taught everything that I was able to learn."

Tetsu praised him happily, "That's the chivalrous hero."

Kirishima affirmed his statement by saying, "He's so manly."

What both boys didn't expect was the hero slamming his fists on the table and yelling at them, "Don't interrupt someone while he's still talking."

Both boys quickly bowed and apologized to him as he said, "I guess that I'll have to teach you some manners along the way too."

The boys reaffirmed their apologies as they both felt deep inside their hearts something that said that they just made the biggest mistake of their lives.

At a certain dojo, Kendo was happily talking with Yui and Ochako as they waited for the hero that they were interning to arrive. The orange head looked at Yui and said, "Hey Yui, what made come here? I never took you for someone who would choose such as an internship."

The usually stoic black-haired girl blushed a little, "I saw that everyone changed for the better in the sports festival except me. without my quirk, I'm good as defenseless. I'll be just a deadweight, so I took any internship that will make me stronger."

Kendo smiled, "Yui, you are already strong. There's no need to doubt yourself." The black-haired girl smiled back at her as she thanked her.

Ochako then said, "If it makes you feel any better, I also came here to be stronger since my quirk is touch passed just like you from what I observed." The black-haired girl nodded her head. The two girls looked at Kendo waiting for her to say why she came here.

"Well you see, I was originally planning on going with someone different, but…" she remembered the advertisements the snake heroes made with female interns, "…I recognized my error in judgment and changed my mind."

Both girls hummed at her answer as they heard footsteps approaching them.

They looked up and saw the Gatling hero: Gunhead. The man was tall with a mask on his face. He also had grey hair. He looked at them and they can sense him smiling from behind his mask, "Well, this year is quite bountiful. I can see that for myself. It's not every year that my humble agency gets 3 interns at the same time."

All the girls bowed and thanked him for accepting them as the pro waved his hands at them telling them to stop since they were embarrassing him.

The hero then asked, "Now before we start anything, is any of you girls familiar with any type of self-defense technique since it might help you a long way in your hero career?"

Both Yui and Ochako lowered their heads in embarrassment as the hero said, "I didn't say it to scold you, it was just a question because when this internship is over, you'll be taught how to defend yourself in close combat, so please don't fret." Both girls nodded their heads.

Gunhead sighed as he mentally said, 'Crisis averted.' He then looked at Kendo and said, "I presume that you know some type of martial art technique."

The orange-haired girl smiled, "Well, I know at least 5 types of hand-to-hand fighting styles as well as some basic defense techniques because my quirk isn't flashy so I had to improvise to make the ground between others much more balanced."

The hero gave her a thumbs-up, "Well, starting from today. I'll train you all in martial arts and perhaps by the time the internship is over, you'll be pros or have a basic knowledge."

Kinoko was walking toward the hero agency that she was working with as she entered the agency she chose. it was a huge mansion with beautiful flowers everywhere with butterflies flying around. She smiled, "I hope that I have a good time here."

A sweet voice from her said, "I hope so too." The small girl screamed in fear as she jumped to the side and saw the hero that she was working with looking at her with a small smile.

Green Peace was a local hero even though she never really cared about her position. She mostly stuck to rural areas, but she almost made a good amount of profit from her being an idol hero, but the money mostly goes to donations. She was a medium-height woman with short black hair. Her suit was similar to her classmate Ibara's suit with a white robe except the robe had flower patterns on it.

"My, my, I'm so sorry. I wanted to surprise you a bit, but I never suspected you to be this skittish." The hero said with an apologetic smile as she introduced herself, "Hello, I think I should introduce myself; my name is Makomo Ayiko. My hero name is Green Peace. My quirk is flowers. It allows me to summon all types of flowers even though my quirk seemed weak at first, but I worked it to the best of its abilities, and I hope I can help you with your quirk, so…"

The girl shook her shock away as she replied back with a bubbly voice, "Well, my name is Kinoko Komori. My hero name is Shemage, and my quirk is mushroom. I hope that you can take good care of me." the girl bowed to the hero who grasped her shoulders.

"I have one question before we start why do you want to be a hero?" the hero asked with a serious face forgoing the smile.

The young hero was startled at the sudden change of tone as she said, "Well, I want to help people. It's always been my dream to make people feel better about themselves. I know that I can't be a popular hero, but I don't care. If I can make people feel better or help them have a house over their heads to help them sleep, then that makes me extremely happy." She finished with a smile

The older hero smiled back at her, "Good, now let's start our training. You see most heroes these days only think about themselves sadly." She grabbed Kinoko's hand and walked her to her office, "my childhood wasn't perfect. I only had my older sister when a villain attack killed our parents, but my sister later passed out due to an injury she sustained after the incident. The time between the two deaths was so short, I was shocked so much that I couldn't comprehend it at the time. But as time went on, I saw a hero helping others and that inspired me, but I knew my quirk wasn't fit for traditional heroics so I played at my strengths, and I will help you in this regard but that doesn't mean that I disregard my hero duties. for example, everything I do out of my job is in my own free time, so consider this your first lesson; never allow anything to interfere with saving people..." The hero then heard soft sniffling coming from the girl's side.

Kinoko was in tears hearing the hero's story, as the older one hugged her and said, "Now, now, there's no need to cry; my older sister used to say the past is the past, it can't be changed, but we can work for a better future."

Kinoko nodded her head as the training began for the next week.

At a certain samurai-themed agency inside of Shizuoka, Kamakiri stood in front of the hero agency he chose. It was the sword hero: Yoroi Musha. The boy walked inside and he was greeted by a man wearing a samurai suit. He looked him up and down, and he had to admit that he was impressed with the man, even in his old age, he gave a certain vibe that made people respect him.

"So you're the new intern," Yoroi Musha said, "I have to admit I never expected that someone will pick me given that most of you teens will go to younger and more appealing heroes not some old man like myself, but I won't complain." The man told him to follow him.

They walked together till they reached a training room filled with torn dummies, "Look, I'm not one for over-the-top pleasantries. I like work since I believe that people introduce themselves through training and sparring." The boy already liked the man; straight to business.

The boy then pointed at a dummy and said, "Hit it as hard as you can." The boy quickly stripped off his U.A. shirt popping a blade as he was about to run there, but the hero stopped him saying, "I never said to go there. I meant from here."

The boy's eyes widened as he said, "But that's impossible. My style requires close range."

The hero smirked under his mask, "So what? Make a long-range attack. Slash the air so hard, you make an air slash." The hero then summoned an ax and slashed the air sending a wind blade and cutting the dummy in half before looking at the boy, "Your imagination is limited. Your performance at the sports festival was strong, but your lack of long ranged attacks made you open for hits for the bomb boy."

The boy was still gaping as he said, "How did you do that?"

The hero once again smirked, "I slashed the air hard enough."

The boy yelled, "There's no such thing as slashing the air…" he was silenced as a wind blade passed near him with the hero saying, "What isn't possible? Young man, you live in a world where people look all shapes and colors, yet you're telling me that a wind blade is impossible."

The boy was silent as the hero patted him on the shoulder, "Never mind that, here you're going to learn how to expand your horizon. Right now, I opened a new door for you. Tell me, are going to accept it or refuse it because you think it's impossible?"

The boy smiled as he said, "Hell, no. I'm going to work the hardest till I master this shit."

The man nodded his head, "Alright now, you need to grow some muscle and start swinging your blades from different parts of your body, but mostly focus on your arms because they'll be your main weapon." He looked at the boy before saying, "Didn't you hear me? Get to it."

The boy quickly began working as he said in his mind,'Maybe this won't be a waste of time.'

In an orphanage, a certain blond-haired teen sat while looking at children running around with happy smiles. He sighed as he said, "God, please kill me. send me back in time to when I was a brat and I promise I won't annoy shitty Deku anymore, because I can't take it anymore."

The boy was seriously regretting his life choices; not because he felt bad or horrible for what he did to his once best friend, but for the sole reason that his future was on the line and literally rested with these quirkless runts' hands. He still wondered where he went wrong with Deku, but the old man was angry about it, so if he said that Deku wasn't at fault then he wasn't.

His dad being angry was a very rare occasion that happened every new moon.

A man sat behind him as he said, "Beautiful, isn't it? Seeing them happy makes my life much easier. How about you?" the boy looked at the man. He had to admit for someone who is quirkless, he was a nice guy.

The boy looked back at him, "Yeah, whatever." The man chuckled as he said, "You still see no point in being in here. You see this as a waste of time, don't you?"

"Of course, there's no point. I should be working with some hero right now, not sitting around all day long while watching children playing around with each other." Bakugo replied with anger even though the man wasn't fazed.

The man replied, "There is a point, and it's to make a better hero. As you are right now, you won't be able to become a hero or at least a proper one. Look at Endeavour for example, he's a strong hero but could have never made it past second place on the billboards because he doesn't have the same aura that All Might has. At this point, you too don't have it."

"What aura are you talking about?" Bakugo grumbled.

"Tell me, what will you do if there was a civilian stuck in the fire between you and a villain? Will you save him or keep fighting the villain?" the man asked.

"Of course, it's obvious. Beat the villain." The boy answered with a smirk only to counter a question, "What will you do if the civilian died?"

The boy froze. He beat the villain. That's how it's supposed to work, right?

The man then told him, "Think about this while you're here. Know what the true meaning of a hero is." He handed him a comic that said 'Superman' and added, "Read this. I knew I liked it."

The man walked away leaving Bakugo to his thoughts as he noticed a boy glaring at him. The blond head flipped the boy off only for the boy to flip him back.

Bakugo's only reply was, "Kid got spunk."

Somewhere else, a boy was walking slowly behind his father as the man scolded him, "What happened in the sports festival was dishonorable, Shoto." The man clenched his fist as he added, "You should have dominated it, but you didn't even manage to make it past the quarter-finals…" The man contained to talk not noticing the boy was spaced out the entire time.

The boy meanwhile was still remembering his conservation with Izuku. He was still confused regarding his quirk. The boy said it was his quirk, but didn't it come from his father?

'What is the right choice to do?' Shoto thought with a huge frown on his face, 'Am I wrong for not using it? whose quirk is it? is it truly mine or is it my father's?' the boy looked at his hand, 'Midoriya said that only I can use it, so why is he so hung up if I don't want to use it? he said that people might also die for me using only my ice. He also said that…'

He was knocked from his thoughts as he felt his father yelling at him, "Focus, Shoto."

The boy glared at his father, "What do you want from me now?"

The man frowned at his son and said, "Don't talk to me in that tone young man. I told you what was going to happen, but you weren't even paying attention."

If you asked Shoto, he would tell you that he wasn't here by choice, but he was forced to be here so he sucked it and came to his father's agency and said, "What are you going at?"

The man looked at him with a serious expression, "You're going to hunt down the Hero Killer."

Shoto blinked hard and looked at his father as if he grew another head. The boy laughed a little at what his father said, even though he was sure of his ice powers, he wasn't so stupid to go hunt down someone who have killed and maimed tens of heroes.

The boy stopped as he sneered at his father, "Good one. Now, what do you want from me?"

The flame hero looked at him with a serious expression and repeated, "You're going to hunt the hero killer. Plain and simple." The sound of ice forming filled the area they were in as Shoto lost control for a moment.

The boy knew that his father was an ass, but to think he would risk his son's life for fame; now that was a new low even for him. The boy looked at him and yelled, "Have you lost what little part of your mind you have? How am I; a high school student, supposed to beat a highly trained ex-vigilante?"

The man shook his head, "I have no doubts that you will beat him. you're my masterpiece and I'm sure that this experience will help you understand that you need to use your fire and show you the limitations of your ice. Add to that, the only people he managed to get were some low-time heroes with no relative importance…"

The man continued to talk as Shoto said mentally, 'You want me to catch him with your fire, huh? I'll show you and everyone else that I only need my mother's ice.' And with that, the boy began his hunt for the hero killer.

In Hosa City, Stain was hanging on the roofs. He looked at it and said, "I must continue my purge of this world and rid it of false heroes. Only All Might is a true hero. Everything I do is for a better society." The man then began to jump from one roof to the other attempting to hunt his next prey.

In another part of the city, an armored man was walking the streets with another person. The first one was talking as the other pretended to listen to the man's words. The man's only thoughts were, 'The hero killer: Stain was last spotted in Hosa. This will be the perfect opportunity to get my revenge on him for what he did to my brother. Mark my words Stain, I'll be the one to put an end to your reign of terror.'

The man was Tenya Iida. The younger brother of Tensei Iida; pro-hero Ingenium. The boy came to an internship at the city of Hosa just for the pure purpose of hunting down Stain.

Inside an old bar, Tomura looked at the screen with a pure smile of evil. "Soon, they'll know what they should truly fear. The hero society will fall at my hands."
