"Why didn't you go back?" Charles Northwood asked as he opened the door to let Tara Jameson in.

"I was worried about you," Tara Jameson smiled. Seeing how disheveled he looked, she knew he would insist on changing his clothes immediately.

"You don't need to worry about me. It seems we can't go out for dinner now. I'll just make you something simple."

It turned out Charles Northwood and Tara Jameson had been planning to go out for dinner together.

"Okay, I'll take a shower." Charles Northwood, who had always been a stickler for cleanliness, couldn't bear the thought of just changing his clothes. Besides, the stinging pain in his palms urged him to quickly clean the dirt and gravel from his wounds.

Watching Charles Northwood leave, Tara Jameson's smile faded, and she trudged listlessly towards the kitchen.

Soon, two bowls of noodles were ready. Charles Northwood emerged in his bathrobe.

"Smells great." Charles Northwood was never stingy with his praise.
