Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"You should have seen what Dionne did today? like I can't stand her, I can tell when she's going to try to do something, but I can't; I can't ugh, I can't stand the whore. She's always doing something over the top. Hmph, well either way it's okay, I can tell and I'm not crazy, I see how she inappropriately caresses our master. She is jealous of my relationship with our master. She is filth that only knows how to seduce. And she better keep her filthy hands off of him or I'm gonna get real red and I'm gonna have to establish some boundaries! I'm sorry, It's just agitating when she pretends like she doesn't know what I'm talking about and then there's the "oh I'm just trying to please our master". Like —

Lucius' eyes slowly open and blink repeatedly as the lights pierce his eyes.

An elf-eared maid turns to Lucius. "Master! Master, are you awake?"

Lucius sighs. Yes.

I'm so sorry, we didn't mean to wake you, you see, Melia and I were just talking to past the time till you awoke. Please —

"It's fine." Lucius rolled away from them towards the other side of the bed. He opened his eyes again. Eyeing a bottle of red liquid.

What is this?

The elven maid responded. It is your medicine and your sustenance.

Sustenance?

Yes, it will restore you to better health the more you consume it.

Lucius rolled out of the bed, planting his feet on the ground, sitting back down, and examining the bottle in his hand.

Dear God, please let this taste good.

Lucius twisted the top free and began to chug the drink.

Suddenly his eyes widened and his hair stood up.

SMASH!

The maids were startled as they noticed the bottle broke into pieces on the nightstand.

Lucius stood up, swiftly turning his head at the maids; revealing only one of his eyes.

The maids quickly bowed before him.

Lucius's eyes were a wicked red and his lips curved from ear to ear.

Why do you bow? Is that all you know to do?

Melia lifted her head to respond but could not form words. Her eyes seemed to shrink as she was face-to-face with Lucius, who just a moment ago stood several feet from them, was now bent down in her face.

Lucius tilted his head toward the elven maid who casted her eyes to the floor.

It seems that you both have gone mute.

Lucius takes his fingers and begins massaging the elven maid's neck and slightly touching her chin gently with his sharp nails.

"Melia, I know you and Dionne do not get along, so let me know if there is something I can do to help, but should there be unnecessary discourse, I will kil— I will scold you both."

Melia trembled slightly as her mouth peaked open and her ears flared out.

She chokingly spoke with heavy eyes. Yes my Lord.

And elf, what is your name?

I, I'm, I'm Sha, Sha, Shara!

Be at ease, Shara.

Lucius began massaging her cheek, examining her long green hair and thin face.

What am I even doing? I feel like I'm bullying these two maids. It's the drink, isn't it? I kinda just wanna lay back down.

Lucius sighs. Shara, please clean the mess and Melia bring me more to drink.

Melia gracefully nodded, her vibrant emerald eyes reflecting his.

In the bright lit bedroom, a ghostly silence hung heavily in the air.

Lucius began sitting down on his bed, looking at the broken bottle.

As Melia left the room, Lucius's attention veered towards Shara, the elven maid. She stood at the center of the chaos, her gentle green hair cascading around her delicate elven features. She began diligently cleaning the shards of glass, carefully examining the floor as well as the nightstand for more pieces.

Lucius's eyes, however, traced more than just the beauty of her movements. It lingered on the graceful curve of her neck, an instinctual hunger stirring deep within him. The allure of her vulnerability, the rush of power he could attain, tempted his vampiric nature, threatening to consume him.

Just as the anticipation in the room reached its peak, Melia returned, carrying another vessel filled with crimson liquid. The scent of blood wafted through the air, electrifying the atmosphere. Lucius's eyes gleamed with a primal hunger as he eagerly snatched the drink from Melia's hands.

The moment the blood touched his lips, a transformation overcame him, his eyes were crimson moons, and his teeth were fine cut blades. The beast within him awakened, unleashing a frenzy of violence and aggression. In an instant, Lucius lunged towards Shara, his speed and strength amplified by his vampiric nature.

Shara, her innate elven reflexes, met Lucius's onslaught with an ethereal grace. She moved like a phantom, her lithe figure evading his attacks with a supernatural finesse. Each strike she deflected showcased her delicate yet formidable combat skills. Yet, despite her resilience, Lucius's savage assault proved overwhelming. With a forceful blow, he sent Shara through the wall, the impact causing her body to crumple against the unforgiving surface. Pain etched across her face, her injuries evident, but her elven essence began its restorative work, healing her wounds with a rapid efficiency.

In the midst of the chaos, Melia intervened, stepping between Lucius and Shara. A sudden change overcame her, her emerald eyes now glinting with an otherworldly intensity had become crimson. A sharp, predatory tail emerged from her back, swaying with an air of warning.

Her voice, laced with reverence, hesitantly cautioned Lucius. "Master, you are unwell. Please calm down, we are not your enemies. Please do not forget us in your rage."

Despite being greatly afraid Melia stood tall, knowing that any other posture would make her appear as prey before a predator.

Lucius lowered his shoulders, relaxing his face, and untensing his back. His eyes slowly drifting away from crimson, revealing a dark blue color beneath.

What am I doing? I just— I, I don't know.

The tense silence was interrupted as various maids began to arrive, seeing the destruction.

Lucius stood silent with his gaze low.

"None of you follow me." Lucius said as he began walking off through the hole in the wall, slightly glancing at Shara who laid there watching.

Shara squinted slightly as he turned away, Noticing him slightly grin as he walked off.
