Chapter 157 - A big scary Dungeon

He tilted his head, his usual grin tugging at his lips. "That's it?" His voice echoed lazily across the chamber. "A big scary dungeon, ash soldiers, flaming guardian, all that running around… and then just a scroll sitting in the middle like a party favor?"

His boots clicked against the floor as he started walking. The shadows clung to him like loyal hounds, whispering, restless but eager. The closer he drew, the heavier the air felt, like unseen eyes were pressing down on him, judging.

But Wuxie wasn't impressed.

He turned in a slow circle, scanning the pillars and alcoves. His grin widened as he lifted a hand to shade his eyes, pretending to look harder. "No ambush? No final boss popping out of the ceiling? Tch. If this were a mobile game, this is exactly the part where you'd expect a hidden raid boss or, I dunno, a chest that bites back."

Silence. Nothing stirred. Not a flicker of movement in the black alcoves.
