The ride home felt like a snap. I couldn't help but smile occasionally like a fool, still reeling from the successful interaction with Ranni. I needed to figure out where to take her for our date, but first things first: let's check upon the giant lizard.
Arriving back home, the house looked a lot different. The maids must have come back and cleaned up. I thanked my soldiers for the help and went to find Remy.
He was practicing with his daggers in the now-clean garden. His moves were fluid and without apparent flaw. He wasn't tired; I suppose staying up for a day or two is nothing for someone like him.
"Remy, I'm back. Are there any news?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, not about the monster, Lord. Your grandfather wishes to talk to you. It seemed urgent. Also, your classmates and most of their families have arrived earlier. They've each been assigned rooms. Some of them are having breakfast in the kitchen."
