Chapter 21 - The Cost of Dominance.

The next morning, we were among the first to leave the field.

​Signs of last night's celebration were everywhere. Even my own soldiers had overdone it, most of them sleeping in the TT (Tactical Transport) after a wild night of drinking and frivolity. Myself? I had slept like a log. Remy woke me up before sunrise, offering to leave immediately, which I accepted without hesitation.

​Thirty-four.

​That was the number of missed calls from yesterday night until morning. One would think that, living in the same house, people would be satisfied calling once, but that didn't stop a call from almost all my classmates and a dozen each contributed by my dear sisters. I ignored them since we were just a few miles out and I could tell them in person... but what exactly was I going to tell them?
