I finally found time to be alone with my guardian. We were walking a discrete path towards the edge of the town, putting distance between ourselves and the heavily monitored house.
"Of course, m'Lord. Tell me your wish and I'll make it into a..."
"Yes, yes. I need a plane tomorrow morning and a diversion on top of that until late at night."
Remy tilted his head sideways, the first time I'd ever seen him drop his composure in front of me. It almost made me laugh.
"What does that entail?" he asked, quickly regaining his neutral, professional demeanor.
"I want to take Ranni away... to the capital, Petra," I said, taking some final, nervous looks around. "It's for a day. We'll fly back at night, but I need everyone to be busy."
He was already processing my words as I said them. Seeing his brain at work through his minute facial expressions was a show in itself.
