Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Space

After securing the main gate, Yunyi rushed back to Old Master Chu's room. She eagerly retrieved the necklace from the secret compartment and noticed that the brown pendant beneath the peach-wood plaque seemed much more lustrous than before.

Her heart raced at the sight, and she tried communicating with it through her thoughts. It wasn't long before her suspicions were confirmed. This truly is a ray of hope in a seemingly hopeless situation!

If not for the fear of attracting unnecessary trouble, I really want to shout a few times to vent this excitement!

She silently willed herself to enter, and in an instant, she disappeared from where she stood.

As she looked around, she realized this space, although vastly different from her original one, was still a great stroke of fortune.

However, after the initial excitement, a tinge of disappointment settled in.

The excitement was natural, given this newfound opportunity. It would not only greatly facilitate her future actions but also provide her with a personal trump card for self-preservation.

The disappointment stemmed from the fact that, as far as the eye could see, the space was full of stones, without a hint of greenery. Aside from the Stone House at the center and a stone pavilion not far away, there was nothing else.

The stones here varied in size and color.

I wonder what's so extraordinary about this space?

I initially thought that stone pavilion was a place for resting.

But upon approaching, she discovered a well in the middle of the pavilion. Beside it stood a modest-sized stone engraved with the words 'Spring Spirit.' The stone bearing the inscription was made of the same material the pendant had transformed into after absorbing blood.

It seems I was shortsighted before, mistaking unpolished jade for a common stone. That pendant, which looked no different from an ordinary rock, is truly no common item.

This well before me is quite exquisite, and the water is within arm's reach. It must also be no common thing.

Once I figure out what's going on with this space, I must be the first to taste this water.

But before she could explore any further, someone was knocking on the main gate again from outside the space.

Annoyed, Yunyi had no choice but to exit the space again. I'll wait until it's dead silent tonight and then come back in to investigate thoroughly.

When she opened the main gate, Sun Ruiming stood outside with a pretentious air. The original owner of this body really had terrible taste, fancying such a two-faced creature. "Is there something you need?"

Sun Ruiming reached out to pull Yunyi, but he didn't succeed. "Yunyi, are you okay?"

Yunyi glanced at him, responding coolly, "You can see for yourself."

Sun Ruiming assumed Yunyi was still grieving over Old Master Chu's passing and didn't take her unusual attitude to heart. "Yunyi, would you like me to come in and keep you company for a chat?"

In the past, when he had made such an offer, Yunyi always welcomed him with a smile. He was about to step inside the courtyard.

But Yunyi stopped him. "That won't be necessary. After all, it's inconvenient for a man and a woman to be alone, especially now that my grandfather has passed. We must be more careful."

Sun Ruiming was extremely displeased but dared not force the issue. "Then I'll bring Xiaoyan over tomorrow to keep you company."

Yunyi neither agreed nor disagreed, simply saying indifferently, "I have things to do. You should head back too."

After speaking, she closed the main gate.

The sky is darkening; it's getting late. People will be returning from work soon, and neighbors will inevitably come by to check on this 'poor little thing' like me. I'd better not re-enter the space for now.Besides, I have important things to do tonight, so it's better to start cooking early.

Mrs. Sun arrived home fuming, her expression extremely unsightly. "That little wretch! How utterly audacious of her! Daring to speak to me like that! Just you wait!"

As Sun Xiaoyan entered the house, she called out, "Mom, I'm back."

Mrs. Sun, already in a foul mood, had finally found an outlet for her anger. "All you do is run around outside all day! You don't do a shred of proper work!"

Sun Xiaoyan knew this was a prelude to her mother's outburst and quickly tried to appease her. "Mom, who's upset you this time?"
