I didn't except to see him here, well we don't have anything to say to eachother and I was definitely not leaving here for him so we stayed in silence
"Are you brave or stupid" his cold voice filled the air
"Could say the same about you"I fired back
He gave a little dark chuckle
"Do you have any idea who l am and what l can do to you" he said
"I know but don't care, don't think those little threats of yours will work on me, you should be scared of me" l said bluffing
"Is that so?" His cold voice said as he started moving closer to me until our faces were merely inches apart I stared into that emerald eyes of his which seems like a magnetic pull drawing me in, making my heartbeat race.....wait a minute my heartbeat race but why?
"You aren't scared of me yet you stopped breathing like l was going to kill you" he smirked
I didn't even realize l have stopped breathing l scowled at his expression whatever
"You are overthinking it I didn't hold my breath" I said waving my hands
"Hmmm" was all his said as he took a long drag on his cigarette then simply walked away
'what a lunatic' I thought to myself,then l simply stared into the night sky and soon head back inside to sleep, l have a busy day tomorrow.
"Where is the meeting scheduled" I said walking into the building
"12:00 ma'am "Nadia replied
"Good" I could hear murmurs as I walk pass the staffs in the building true to Nadia's word, none were working just a few while the rest was busy lazing around and that was about to change l barged into my office just to find my so-called secretary on my chair with his feet on my table while mulching on chips watching tv how disrespectful
"Making ourselves comfortable, are we?" I said
"Hmm yes very much" with his eyes still on the TV before turning around then stiffen
"Ma...ma.. ma'am is back" he stammered
"Your fired"I simply said "and clean up this place before you leave, Nadia arrange a staff meeting immediately "
"Yes ma'am " Nadia said then left
"Ma'am please you can't fire me you must know l have been the most hardworking man here, l keep everything in order,you can tell by my appearance"says the man whose clothes were dirty with different kind of nonsense he has probably been eating since
"Yes, I can see it very well "the idiot started grinning "how very much you are incompetent you are with this job and with yourself, put everything in order? I scoffed" you fat baloney can't even figure out what to do with your life talk less of figuring out how to fix things around when you are a walking dumpster, Now get out my office before I make you"I said , he scurried to its feet and flee like some dragon was chasing him whatever
"Ma'am, they're ready" Nadia said
I nodded l walked into a the huge meeting room which had a big round circular table in the middle the glasses surrounding the room were transparent but it can become blurry on command but it wasn't necessary for this kind of meeting, l walked in and sat at my Chair which was at the head,only when l sat down the others where allowed to do the same
"I guess you all know why you are here so let's just get to the point " I started
They were all quiet"because of of you all lackadaisical behaviour, this place is a whole junk of mess,and because of that lack of efficiency around the work place a respectable company has now turned to an indoor cinema am l right?...."
"But ma'am we don't behave like this often, we just thought it will be okay if we took a little break also we all thought you were....." An employee said but I interpreted
"Dead, l was gone for a year and you all thought I was dead thereby turning my company to your house was the right thing to do?, well no need for too much talk, l'm gonna give you all a last chance so buckle down cause even the tiniest slip up from anyone of you,you are gone. How's the new project coming along?"
The head of the robotics engineers stood up
"The designs for the new project have already been all we need to do now is start developing it"he said
"And what is keeping you guys from doing it"I said
They all stared at eachother
"Is there something that everybody seems to know but l don't?"I said
"Ma'am, this new project requires lots of fund which the company is short of at the moment and since investments company have been pulling out with being left with only one investment company"Nadia explained
"The company we have a meeting later in the day right right?"
Nadia nodded
"You are yet to tell me their name"I said
"Nexus Investments ma'am"
'Nexus investments' I mumbled as l tried to remember where l heard that name before..... Oh gosh, my eyes widened with realization Mr Robot... I mean Asher was the CEO of that company which means he is coming here today what if he doesn't sign the contract because of the past, whatever if he's gonna keep a beef with me over a piece of sushi over work then he is immature
"Umm ma'am" Nadia said looking at me with worried eyes
Shit, I forgot l was still in meeting
"Meeting dismissed"I simply said then walked out of there with Nadia trailing behind me
" Ma'am is there any problem"Nadia said
Nadia has always been a person close to me apart from Clara and Naomi, Nadia have always been there,she was like a big sister to me and she always know when something is bothering me
"No, none at all"I said now that was a big lie
"Ma'am, they are here here"Nadia informed
'that was early' I thought
"Very well, l'll be there soon"I said
She nodded then left, hmm this is going to be the most awkward meeting ever, but whatever l'm gonna face it head on l said then nodded at Nadia as she opened the door and there he was The Expressionless Robot then our eyes met.
