Grandma Grace wept as she looked at her daughter lying still before her. To her shock, there were tears upon her daughter's face, as if even in death she mourned what she had left behind.
"How could you leave your little girl all alone? What will she do without you… and your husband too?" Grandma whispered, her voice breaking.
She gently cupped her daughter's face, brushing away the tears that had fallen.
"I don't even know how to tell your daughter… I don't know how to explain that her mother is gone."
A nurse entered the room again, holding a small stack of papers.
"Madam, you need to sign these documents." she said softly.
Grandma Grace looked up, her voice trembling.
"Nurse… my son is he alright?"
The young nurse hesitated, her hands tightening around the papers.
"He just…" she began, her voice faltering.
"He just what?" Grandma Grace pressed, desperation in her tone.
The nurse, still trembling from the ordeal and visibly nervous, spoke first.
