Chapter 271 Party Introductions
In the quiet room, the only sounds were the soft rustling of rags against wooden bowls, occasionally interrupted by the roughhousing of children in the other rooms. The serene atmosphere was relaxing, yet it seemed to cause anxiety and impatience for one person, who began to fidget until she finally spoke.
"Hi! Um, now that I've had some time to think, my actions were a bit rude, weren't they?" she said, guiltily scratching her head. "Anyway," she continued, "my name is Cecelia. Nice to meet you!"
Aleshia wasn't upset at all and had the impression that Cecelia was full of energy and fond of food. "Please don't think anything of it," Aleshia denied. "I'm Aleshia, and this here is my hat, Luci—?" Aleshia looked around, realizing she hadn't noticed that Lucia had gone missing.
However, this was typical for her, so Aleshia wasn't too concerned. She knew Lucia wouldn't be in any danger. She adjusted her wording, "Ahem, I mean my lucky hat seems to have gone missing, but I don't think we need to look very hard to find it." Aleshia tried to redirect.
In an effort to be polite and avoid further embarrassment, another person introduced himself. "I'm Brian. I take the heavy hits and act as the shield of the party." He was a hulking figure, muscular and still dressed in his leather armor, indicating he hadn't had the chance to take it off. Aleshia noticed a well-crafted shield in the corner of the room.
Following Brian's introduction, the group felt it was appropriate to introduce themselves as well. One member stood out: a slender boy wearing leather armor that appeared to be of higher quality than the others. "Hi there, I'm Liam. I'm a scout and specialize in close-quarters combat. I might not be as powerful as Brian, but I can certainly make people bleed."
"I'm Kelly. I'm the melee fighter, or swordswoman, of the group. I can promise you that I can outfight most people in this district; after all, I learned from a swordmaster," she said, emanating a smug sense of pride.
"Well, we don't even know if he has any registration," a girl interjected cynically. "So why would anyone think that guy is a swordmaster? Still, he has been helpful to all of us, so I guess that's fine." The girl's body was covered in scars, likely from fighting both people and monsters, suggesting she was a berserker. Some of her gashes looked like claw marks, while others appeared to be from slashes made by weapons. Her weapon of choice was resting behind the shield that Brian had left hidden in the corner.
