Chapter 272 Roles and Abilities
The girl then introduced herself. "I'm Stella. I like to fight on the front lines," she stated plainly.
Aleshia nodded, taking a moment to consider the party's composition. It consisted entirely of front-line fighters, with hardly any ranged attackers. She realized that she could fill that role because she was capable of using magic. Imagining herself in the back line of the party, she began to understand how she could contribute and fit in.
While Aleshia was contemplating ways she could contribute to the party, she suddenly realized that Cecelia had yet to introduce her role. "Cecelia, what role do you play in the party?" she inquired.
"Oh, I didn't mention it—sorry! I'm an archer who specializes in archery. So I'm not that special," Cecelia downplayed.
"Hey, don't sell yourself short," Kelly said. "If you weren't here, we wouldn't be able to stop our prey in their tracks. Your aim is so good that you can hinder their movement and prevent them from escaping."
After allowing Kelly's reassurance to sink in, Brian interrupted, "Now that we've had our break, when do you think you'll be ready to leave, Aleshia? It should still be midday, and with us here, you'll be safe even if it gets closer to dusk," He spoke encouragingly, with the others nodding in agreement with his proposal as they resumed packing the dishes and utensils into the cabinets and drawers.
Aleshia appreciated how kind everyone had been and felt guilty for not sharing much about herself. She noticed that everyone was wrapping up, so she decided to explain her abilities. "I'm a mid to long-range fighter. I utilize spells and sorcery, like the floating water orbs you've seen. I can do much more with them and can work with elements beyond just water. I hope you will accept my position in the middle or near the back line alongside Cecelia."
"Oh, that's completely alright," Brian replied. "Having more people who can attack from range is essential, so that's an enticing prospect to offer. None of us will object, will we?"
Following his words, the party all shook their heads. "See, there is no need to fret on our behalf; we all understand. As long as you can put your abilities to use, then we won't mind." Brian declared.
Aleshia now had an answer for their question and said, "As soon as I find my lucky hat, we can leave. And I have a good idea of where it might have gone."
