The two Pokemon faced each other in the moonlit clearing, tension thick in the air. Venusaur's eyes narrowed slightly, as if sensing something approaching through the forest.
"Saur, Venusaur!" (Someone has broken through the barrier. It seems you are quite important to them!)
Venusaur's tone carried a mocking edge as it looked at Ivysaur. There was irony in its voice—Ivysaur had once been the most stubborn and human-hating Pokemon among their kind, yet now it had the strongest bond with humans and had even evolved because of that connection.
"Ivy! Ivysaur!" (You are not allowed to hurt them!)
Ivysaur's expression shifted with worry upon hearing this. Regret washed over it as it realized that revealing clues about this place might have put its trainer and friends in danger.
"Venusaur, saur!" (That depends on your ability!)
Venusaur seemed completely unconcerned, almost as if it was deliberately trying to provoke Ivysaur. Just as Ivysaur was about to respond, Venusaur turned away dismissively and began to raise its massive head toward the night sky.
The flower on Venusaur's back suddenly erupted with brilliant, shimmering pollen that caught the moonlight like tiny stars. The sparkling dust drifted down around them, creating an almost magical atmosphere in the darkness.
At the same moment, the surrounding Bulbasaur—numbering in the dozens—began to call out in unison with their evolved leader. Their voices created a haunting chorus that echoed through the forest.
Ivysaur recognized what was happening immediately. The ancient ritual had begun, and there was no way to stop it now. The ceremony was already in motion.
As Venusaur's pollen spread through the air, Ivysaur felt an involuntary surge of power coursing through its body. The energy was ancient and primal, connected to the very essence of Grass-type Pokemon.
Seeing Ivysaur's reaction, a proud smile crossed Venusaur's features. However, Ivysaur continued to fight against the overwhelming force, refusing to give in to the ritual's influence.
The surrounding Bulbasaur showed no such resistance. They welcomed the power completely, and the bulbs on their backs began to glow with intense green light. Each one seemed to be reveling in the moment, embracing the ancient ceremony.
Only Ivysaur remained out of place among them, struggling against the tide of energy. Noticing this defiance, Venusaur seemed to increase the intensity of its power, causing Ivysaur to grit its teeth and strain even harder against the mystical force.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, Ash and his companions were still battling their way through the aggressive plant life. They pressed forward determinedly, soon discovering a clear green path that seemed to lead deeper into the mysterious area.
The branches and vines around them grew thicker and more numerous as they advanced. Pikachu and Scyther took turns attacking the hostile vegetation, working together to clear their way through the natural obstacles.
"Ash! Look ahead!" Misty called out suddenly, her voice filled with surprise.
Ash and Brock followed her gaze and saw a vast area of dense grass blocking their path. The grass formed an impenetrable wall with no gaps visible anywhere, and it was twisted together with thorny vines covered in sharp spikes.
The road forward was completely blocked by an intricate network of vines and thorns, as if the forest itself was determined to keep intruders out.
"Scyther, use Cross Chop!"
Without hesitation, Ash pointed forward and gave the command. Scyther immediately rushed ahead, spreading its arms wide as scarlet energy began to glow along the edges of its sharp scythes.
The dual blades slashed downward in a crossing pattern. In the darkness of the night, the red cross-shaped energy flash cut through the air, and the blocked passage ahead was cleanly severed. But just as they were about to move forward, countless more thorns and vines erupted from the surrounding grass.
The plant life attacked with surprising speed and coordination. Scyther quickly stepped back and began cutting down the approaching vines to protect Ash and the others from harm.
Pikachu joined the defense, using Iron Tail to help temporarily resolve the immediate crisis. However, the passage that Scyther had just cut through began to regrow rapidly, blocking their way once again.
"What do we do? It's blocked again!" Misty stared at the scene in amazement. At this rate, even if they managed to cut through the barrier, they wouldn't be able to advance.
"You think this is going to stop me? Charizard, melt them down!"
Ash's patience finally ran out. His frustration was clear as he reached for another Poke Ball.
"Charizard!"
The Poke Ball flew through the air, and with a flash of brilliant light, Charizard's powerful roar echoed across the entire area. A blazing flame began to build in its throat as it faced the wall of thorns blocking their path.
ROOOOOAR!
The flames erupted like an explosion, instantly illuminating the night sky. The pillar of fire struck the thorn wall directly, and under the intense heat, the thorns and vines crumbled like paper before the high-temperature flames. The entire barrier was quickly consumed by the inferno.
Sensing the dangerous heat, the surrounding trees, vines, and thorns retreated and didn't dare approach again. Ash remained silent as he watched the flames do their work.
If the forest continued to be this stubborn, he was prepared to burn through whatever stood in his way. This seemed to be a specific area anyway, and other Pokemon in the vicinity appeared to be staying away, so he didn't need to worry about involving innocent creatures.
Soon, as the flames died down, small fires still flickered on the ground and on the charred remains of the thorn trees and vines nearby.
Seeing that the thorns and vines around them seemed frightened and weren't rushing out to attack again, Ash called to Misty and Brock. He quickly recalled both Charizard and Scyther, and the group hurried through the cleared passage.
After moving through the area and running for several minutes, Misty was startled when she heard a low, rumbling growl echoing through the forest. Soon after, she noticed a sweet fragrance filling the air, and scattered points of light seemed to be floating in the dark atmosphere around them.
"What is that?"
"I'm not sure, but it looks like some kind of pollen! But what is making that sound?" Brock looked around nervously, feeling that something strange was happening. He could sense that multiple Pokemon were involved somehow.
The sound was unusual—it seemed like the voices of many Pokemon calling out at the same time. Ash didn't waste time discussing it and continued running forward quickly.
Before long, they reached a huge grassland, and the three trainers found themselves at a relatively elevated position overlooking the area below.
Looking down, they could see a large open space at a lower elevation, and many green lights were flickering in the outer darkness surrounding it.
Examining the lights more carefully, they could see that each green glow came from a Bulbasaur. There were many of them—at least twenty Pokemon gathered in the clearing.
But the most impressive sight was the enormous tree directly in the center of the space. Although it appeared withered and ancient, its thickness and height were still absolutely amazing to behold.
On a large tree stump in front of the massive trunk, a huge figure was producing deep, resonant roars. The large flower on its back was continuously releasing streams of sweet-smelling pollen into the night air.
"That's a Venusaur!" Misty and Brock exclaimed in surprise and wonder.
What was even more incredible was what happened as Venusaur's pollen scattered across the surrounding grass. The originally green grassland began to transform, with colorful patches gradually appearing throughout the area.
Many flowers of different colors slowly bloomed across the field, and the grassland that had looked ordinary moments before was transforming into a breathtaking garden before their very eyes.
"How beautiful!"
"Is this the power of Venusaur? Wait, could this be the place where..." Brock trailed off in amazement, then seemed to suddenly remember something important about what they might be witnessing.
