After returning back to Earth from North Kai's Planet, Talot immediately went to look for Salari and Bulma, then took them together to Mount Paozu to inform Gine and others about Frieza's arrival one year later.
Regarding Frieza, everyone reacted differently.
Because apart from Talot and the others, no one else on Earth knew.
Especially Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu. Goku was just as confused, but unlike them, after the confusion came excitement. That there was such a powerful opponent in the universe once again expanded his worldview.
And Nappa? His soul was about to fly out of his body from fear.
The terror that had ruled him for so many years had pushed his fear of Frieza to its peak.
Especially now that Frieza had appeared, and hearing from Talot that his strength had greatly increased, didn't that mean Frieza was even more terrifying than before?
Now he was coming to Earth to look for them, the Saiyans, to take revenge.
"What should we do next?" Nappa was scared, but thinking of the Super Saiyan, he forced himself to calm down and asked Talot, Raditz, and Salari.
"Hmph! That Frieza has finally shown himself. I thought he'd hole up on that planet forever. It's finally time for reckoning!!" Raditz's emotions flared, as though he'd found an outlet.
The blood feud between the Saiyans and Frieza should have been settled long ago.
If Talot hadn't been stalling all this time, they would already have stormed Frieza's lair.
Hearing Raditz's words, everyone could feel the terrifying killing intent radiating from him.
"Brother Talot, since Frieza has the guts to come to Earth to get revenge on us, why don't we strike first and go after Frieza! Once we eliminate him, there'll be no one left in the universe who can threaten us." Salari followed up.
Taking Frieza down in one go and opening a new era; this had always been Salari's hope.
As long as Frieza was eliminated, the Saiyan race would have avenged their great hatred.
"Salari's right. Instead of sitting and waiting, we should strike first! I can't stand waiting a whole year!" Raditz said impatiently.
The atmosphere grew tense as the two of them cornered Talot, as if forcing him to comply.
Off to the side, Gine noticed the situation and glanced at Talot with concern. Seemingly seeing the helplessness in his eyes, she spoke up: "Alright, let's hear Talot out first. The more anxious we get, the more likely we'll do something wrong. I think Talot has already made a decision."
After she finished, the tense atmosphere eased slightly, and Raditz and Salari were no longer so impatient.
Talot cast Gine a grateful look, then turned to Raditz and Salari: "You're underestimating how difficult it is to kill Frieza. Sure, judging from the strength I sensed earlier, Frieza might not pose much of a threat to me. But for you two, once Frieza transforms, he could easily kill you both."
At those words, Raditz and Salari's faces went pale.
They had been overconfident in their own strength and had underestimated Frieza too much.
Their rapid power growth had created an illusion; after all, back then King Cold's power level only reached one billion after transformation.
With their current strength, they could easily raise their power level to over a billion.
"Damn it! So that means Frieza, after hiding for so long, has surpassed King Cold and Cooler, which is why he's heading straight to Earth." Raditz ground his teeth, speaking angrily.
They had worked so hard, always getting stronger, and yet this was the result.
He didn't doubt Talot's judgment, because Talot had never once been wrong.
"It's not that I'm trying to discourage you, but Frieza's power after transforming is probably at least comparable to Bojack we dealt with before." Talot chose a suitable example to illustrate Frieza's current level of strength.
At least over three or four billion, maybe even five billion or more.
The atmosphere turned heavy, and no one dared to speak.
It was Nappa who couldn't hold back, and asked in terror, "Wait! Talot, are you saying that even you, who can transform into a Super Saiyan, not sure you can defeat the current Frieza?!"
Nappa had always believed that the power of a Super Saiyan was the pinnacle of the universe. Even if Frieza appeared, he should be nothing worth mentioning.
In the end, his thinking was wrong.
"Nappa, the Super Saiyan transformation is just one way for us to increase our power. Mastering the Super Saiyan form doesn't make you invincible. The universe is vast, and there are certainly beings stronger than us. We just haven't encountered them yet.
"In other words, if you and I both transformed into Super Saiyans right now to fight, do you think you could beat me? I can tell you clearly, even if you transformed into a Super Saiyan right now and fought us, we wouldn't even need to transform to easily defeat you."
Saying that, Talot stopped sharing more information.
He was only correcting Nappa's mistaken belief.
"Super Saiyan… isn't invincible?" Nappa muttered to himself, understanding dawning on him.
Though he couldn't fully understand yet, he had at least realized something!
"That guy called Frieza is that strong? Then we'll just get stronger and fight him!!" Unlike the others, Goku, true to being the protagonist of the Dragon Ball world, feared nothing since childhood.
Salari and Raditz were also swept up by Goku's mood, brushing away their frustration and instead feeling greater drive.
"You're right. Even if we can't match him now, a year from now might be different!" Raditz changed his thinking.
"That's right! And in a year, we'll definitely be able to reach Super Saiyan 2!" Salari's words opened up everyone's imagination about the Super Saiyan.
Seeing this, Talot laughed. "So now you're not anxious anymore? Not thinking of going straight after Frieza?"
He was teasing them, and Raditz and Salari's cheeks flushed.
"If we rely on you for everything, we'd be completely useless," Raditz said.
"Brother Talot, guide us to grow stronger from here on. When we've mastered greater power, then we'll take care of Frieza ourselves," Salari followed up.
Seeing them like this, Talot nodded in agreement and stopped teasing.
For the coming year, he already had a goal and had thought of their training methods.
The others, not wanting to fall behind, all spoke up, their courage admirable.
For them, even if they couldn't help much, they still wanted to train hard; maybe there would come a time when they'd be needed.
…
In space.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
In the North Area, not far from the solar system, on a remote star system, on a deep green planet.
After leaving Earth, Vegeta had come to this planet where life aura wasn't plentiful but vegetation was lush, to begin his hellish training.
Being closer to Earth, once he achieved a breakthrough he'd return and wash away his past humiliation.
His thoughts were simple, even naïve.
But today, all his plans were disrupted by one piece of news.
Frieza had appeared and had locked onto Earth as his target.
"Arriving on Earth in a year? Damn it! This time I absolutely won't let you steal the spotlight again! A year from now, I, Vegeta, will definitely become a Super Saiyan. By then, Frieza will be mine to deal with!
"I am the prince of the Saiyans, the most talented Saiyan of all!"
With those words, Vegeta threw himself into training even harder.
As for Frieza's orders and the like, he had long since cast them to the back of his mind.
