Once the Demon God was truly dead and gone, and all the heroes had finished picking through the equipment pile… There was a brief moment where they all let out a big sigh of relief. The elf, excitedly hugged Night Silver.
"Thanks for coming, Mother!" She was truly an adorable elf.
"Heh, that's a sight, with such monstrous ability, even the most powerful turn into putty when faced with their mother." Platinum Armor said.
Night Silver glanced at the armor, but saw through it right away, and smirked. "Naturally. I only know of a handful of exceptions to this rule. And all of them are True Dragon Lords, can't blame though, their mother is a real bitch… But, since she has to continue living for the sake of the dragons, I had to permanently destroy that Emperor's Soul."
The armor quivered at the statement, all but giving away the fact he knew what kind of power it would take to pull something like that off. "Achem, I see. Well then, I'd like to ask you something. It's about earlier, why did Tus Nadair come to our aid?"
Night Silver tilted her head, it was as if she was confused about the question, not the answer to it, but rather something else. "For someone like you to not understand it, is rather surprising." She giggled, and then gave the elf a loving kiss on the forehead. "I was prepared to come to my daughter's aid at a moment's notice. After all, I'd never let something happen to my children if I could do something about it. The lone exception to this, is if they desire to pull through on their own. A feeling I really wish some would abandon…"
"I see, so then, what was all that about the world level item? And what is a 1 of 20?"
"Oh that, there's no need for you to worry about something like that. Just know, if such a thing is presented, I will personally resolve the situation, as anything less than what I used today would be difficult to impossible to deal with." She explained, holding the elf to her bosom.
"I… I see… Could I ask you to cover up a little more…"
"You can ask, but I won't be obliging that request. It was already annoying enough to cover my girls during my most recent battle. I need to let them be free for a while." Night Silver's refusal was a given, this was just how she was… "Now, make sure you all get some rest before fighting the next idiot. All of them should have a world item, think about it as if fighting against a True Dragon Lord. Such a thought will avoid any issues you might have later on."
The black armored knight sighed internally. I have to ask… "Lady Night Silver, would it be possible to have a private conversation? I have a few things I'd like to ask…"
"Hmm?" The elf gave a quick glare, and then started feeding like she was a baby again.
"Pfft, as long as you're okay with telepathy, sure, I don't mind." She smiled, gently stroking the elf's head, ears, and hair.
"In that case, I am curious, what is this world, exactly?"
"I'd like to know too… At this point, what I can tell you is that this world is definitely not our old one. That is something I am certain of, after having explored every single crevice of this world, to include all things on land, and in the sea."
"I see, do you know how long orcs live for?"
"What kind of demon are you, that wouldn't be immortal?"
"I had lost my levels quite a few times before the shut down, and subsequently lost many things. However, I didn't lose the problematic level… It cuts my life down to that of an orc."
"Damn. That's rough. You've got about 20, maybe 30 years at most."
"..."
"Not the greatest news…"
"No, not really, but at least I know now. That aside, this world is much better than that old one. You've worked hard to protect it, haven't you?"
"I have indeed. And so long as you do not actively cause any harm to this wonderful world, I will not be your enemy. That includes abstaining from harming any of my children, which include those who worship me as their goddess."
"I understand. Even if it were just your strength from before I wouldn't dare to compete in any way. Let alone now… You found a way to circumvent the level cap, didn't you?"
"Not really, this is the result of my unique class, and before you ask, it's only obtainable in this world. I also don't really know the method of acquiring it, besides being a loving person…"
"You'd share such valuable information?"
"It's not like anyone else can obtain it anyway, even that asshole from the Eryuentiu base."
"You actually defeated that group of hackers? Surely your strength is unmatched?"
"Nope, the Emperor Dragon took me two months and some change to finally kill properly. Bastard was hard to kill."
"Alright, that's all I had to talk about. Thank you for humoring me, Lady Night Silver." The black armor knight, knelt and bowed. "I swear to remove any who would cast a plague upon this world, to the best of my ability, or die trying." His eyes lit up as he felt something change within his soul.
"Good, now then… You, spawn of those morons, come here." Night Silver's brow twitched. The elf upon her breast removed herself after filling up.
"Yes…" The Slane Theocracy's coward came forward.
Night raised her hand, and slapped the God-Kin across the face. "You have a god's blood running through veins. Even as shitty as they were, they weren't cowards like you. Shape up or I'll kill you myself to avoid any embarrassment to such a lofty moniker."
"Ow! What's it matter to you, a demon!?" He got slapped again.
"That should be obvious, I have children of my own, thus they can also be called God-Kin, and your utter weakness is an embarrassment to them. So, you have two options, either shape up, or die. Make your choice by the end of your rest period. If nothing else, you should be able to reach somewhere in between those two… Anyways, I'll be checking in periodically, don't disappoint me again, you embarrassment."
Beside Night Silver, a tree grew, and then she and the tree disappeared, as if they were never there to begin with. Of course, she had also collected the remaining equipment from the pile, all at the same time.
