Chapter 43 - Discussion 2

We gather everyone up in preparation to continue the discussion, or at least that's their plan. As for me, I know what's about to happen.

Rimuru starts talking, "Okay so given our current situation we have two concerns. The western saints church is something that we will have to face eventually. For now we can't do much so for now all I'll say is we'll deal with them when the time comes. As many know Tempest will soon be at war with..." I stop paying attention as I count down in my head, three, two, one.

A small clink is heard on the glass roof above us. We all look up to see Ramiris with her face up against the glass. Rimuru yells, "Eh!?"

Laughing, I say, "Looks like Ramiris is here." I use [Hermetic Reality] to pull her in, fazing her through the glass in the process. "Hey Ramiris. And no, before you say it, Tempest isn't doomed."

"Eh? How did you..."

"Mind powers Ramiris. I analyzed your expressions and mannerisms and combined it with our already known intel to find out what you were about to say. Like I've said before, nothing can get past me." She looks at me with a shocked expression, didn't think she would understand what I said, she's a little smarter than she looks I guess. "Anyways, no, Tempest isn't doomed. At least not yet. In fact, we're already planning our retaliation right now."

I walk over to Veldora with her on the palms of my hands. I sit her down next to him, "For now, just watch, Rimuru and I will talk to you later."

She looks up at him who also looks down at her. A little intimidated, she asks, "W-Who is he?"

"That's Veldora."

"Oh, okay, he's...eh!?" She looks back up at him. The instant she does I can tell she can tell I'm not lying and instantly faints.

I wave at Rimuru to continue, "You can go on, Rimuru, Ramiris probably has some stuff to say but for now let's just wrap this up."

Rimuru awkwardly nods and continues, "Because we were interrupted I think I should just say it. Tempest is going to go to war with Demon Lord Clayman."

One Gazel's eyebrows goes up, "Are you sure you can win?"

I respond, "Yeah, it shouldn't be that hard."

Erald questions, "You make it sound simple, Clayman is said to be a Demon Lord with a considerable amount of majin under his control, are you sure it's so simple?"

I smile, "Yeah, it is. I've actually finally gotten enough information to fully form a counter strategy already. Let me explain."

{Notice- Extra Skill [Fearless] has been activated.}

"Alright, so the strategy I've created has already been revised by Rimuru so it's pretty close to set in stone but I'll describe it here to see if it has any flaws. Now, to begin the first part of the plan involves Fuze and anyone else capable of spreading news quickly. I ask for you to help advertise Tempest as a transit point for trade. That'll help a lot."

Fuze thinks about what I said, "I believe I might be able to do that but for what reason?"

"Well, you see, during the attack we found that there was an archbishop among the men in the attack. That could only mean one thing, the church had a hand in this attack. After finding that out we did some investigation and interrogation and found out that he was sent by a cardinal by the name of Nikolaus Spertus. What that means is because a cardinal was the one to make the decision that means that the main headquarters has yet to fully decide on a course of action. That works in our favor." I point to Fuze, "If you can get Blumund to spread news that Tempest is a center for trade used by many countries, not even the church could act so rashly. With news like that they'll be forced to think twice about attacking and give us more time."

Fuze nods silently, "I see. I understand now. I'll see what I can do."

I look at the representatives for the other countries, "If it's not too much trouble, I would also like to ask for your help as well. Because Blumund is closest to where I want this news to spread I asked Fuze more directly but it would also be a big help for you all to join in as well."

Gazel answers, "I understand, The Armed Nation of Dwargon shall also help."

Erald adds, "I'll see what I can do."

I bow a little, "Thank you all. Now, onto the next part, how to deal with Farmus. Uh, I'll leave this part to Rimuru."

"Eh?"

{Notice- Ultimate Skill [Saul] subskill [Tempest Link] has been activated.

Opening connection 1, Rimuru Tempest.}

"Listen, this part involves Diablo so I think you will be best suited for this. He seems to be more loyal to you than to me so hearing the news from you might help him with motivation you know."

{Notice- Ultimate Skill [Saul] subskill [Tempest Link] has been deactivated.

Connection 1, Rimuru Tempest, has been closed.}

He seems to understand and nods. He stands up and says, "So, uh, for the next part, Diablo," He immediately perks up, "you will be in charge of returning the prisoners back to Farmus." He looks a little sad after hearing such a menial task.

"No, Diablo, we're asking you because you are the best suited to handle this job. Only someone capable of keeping Razen in check can do this job, we need you to become the linchpin of the Farmus conquest. We'll explain the details later on in secret." We can't explain what Diablo is going to do in front of everyone, especially Erald.

Diablo cheers up a bit after hearing this. I guess he already understands what we're doing. I guess it makes sense, he's likely one of the smartest in Tempest. He says, "I understand, I shall handle this quickly." Rimuru looks a little caught off guard with how fast Diablo understood and nods.

I stand up, "I guess that wraps things up for the most part now that I think about it. The rest will be talked about in secret. I hope you all understand."

Gazel accepts this saying, "It's fine, I'm sure you have your reasons."

"Thanks." I turn to Ramiris, "Alright Ramiris, go ahead, what were you going to say?"

She looks at me and then looks back at a manga she picked up while we were talking. "Hey, Ramiris." She ignores me. "If you don't come here I will tell you everything that happens in that entire series and trust me, you won't escape."

She jumps up and puts her hand in a salute, "Understood sir!" She jumps up and flies near Rimuru and I. She whispers that she doesn't want anyone else to hear what she's about to say and gestures us away from everyone. We decide to accept and leave, telling everyone this is a private conversation. While the people who are left behind are intrigued they understand and allow us to talk in private. Ramiris begins by saying, "Tempest is doomed! Walpurgis is upon us!"

Rimuru looks confused, "What's Walurgis?"

"Isn't it like a tea party between Demon Lords or something?"

Ramiris looks at me confused, "Uh, yes. How do you know this?"

"Information gathering."

"Uh, okay."

She shows down with her explanation so I decide to get things back on track, "So, this is about Clayman and our declaration to become Demon Lords right Ramiris? That's pretty much our only explanation."

"Hm, yes, Clayman is planning to kill you all! He started a Walpurgis banquet and word has gotten to me that he is already taking military action!" She looks at me and Rimuru, "Eh!?"

Rimuru and I are smiling, "Looks like Clayman is finally making his move."

We talk a little more about the Walpurgis and what exactly it is there but seeing that the people are looking at us we decide to hold back on the discussions for now. We wrap up with Gazel and Erald after a few more final clarifications and explain to Fuze what he is to do when he gets to Blumund as well. With Gazel and Erald serving as reliable witnesses in case things happen in the future we finish our discussion. So far everything is going pretty much according to plan.

While leaving the meeting area Rimuru walks up to me and mentions that we are still to confirm our strategy for the actual fight against Clayman.

"Oh, right, I guess we should do that."

As Gazel, Fuze and Erald leave, we gather up anyone who is going to actively participate in the fight against Clayman's forces. Gathering up all major leaders and Gobta, we prepare to talk about our actual main war plan. For this, it is going to be up to Rimuru to explain.

As he begins explaining I doze off a bit as I sort through future plans in my head. For the war plan pretty much everything remains the same. Everyone is to do the same things as before. Pretty much the only difference here will be the defense force Tempest will have while the war is waged and a slightly stronger attacking force.

The Tempest Slime Corps won't interfere too much in the invasion, their main goal is the direct defense of Tempest so invasions like these aren't something many will participate in. Reason being if they were part of it the attack would be too successful. The Slime Corps members are way too strong for this. I don't want Tear and Footman to end up captured after this fight so I will only allow some members of the Slime Corps to join in the fight. The others will stay behind to defend Tempest.

As for the leaders of this invasion, Benimaru and Cerulean are to plan this out but only Benimaru will actively lead them. Cerulean will come with me to the actual Walpurgis as a subordinate along with Ranryo. Again, with how powerful Cerulean is, his presence would actually be detrimental because he would be too efficient and strong. Keeping him away from that fight is something I have to ensure. His input in the actual war plan is useful however.

When the plans draw to a close with very minor differences from the original everyone disperses. In preparation for the fight everyone begins gathering weapons and supplies for the fight.. Onto the final part, planning for the actual main Walpurgis and our announcement to Guy that we are also going to participate.
