Chapter 33 - Please dont buy

Nicholas Grey was not the kind of person to stay silent when upset.

He won at work. He led in public. He never seemed weak, even when he lost. But ever since Rachel's words hurt him, being quiet was all he could do.

He had always done everything with the power he had. Everything he did was done with a fierce hand. 

But here he was crumbling over a few words, 

The baby isn't yours.

He heard those words in his head every night; they were constant, mean, and made fun of him. 

He almost thought he was imagining things, that maybe her mouth moved a different way. But the fake report she threw at him was folded in his drawer, a hard reminder every time he saw it.

Nicholas was now sitting at his desk, with the city's long skyline in front of him. The world outside was bright and busy, but his office felt dark, as his heavy thoughts blocked everything else.
