Ambrose's View
The glass broke before I even knew I had thrown it to the wall. Dark red wine spread over my desk, slowly falling to the floor in multiple small streams, staining everything it touched.
Lucan, My assistant jumped back by the door, surprised at my outburst, but I didn't care.
"What did you just say?" My voice was angry, sharp enough to cut through the quiet.
The man quickly lowered his head, saying it again, his words shaking this time.
"Pamela's family has made plans for her to be in your home for a week… to make your relationship stronger."
I laughed, but the sound from my chest was quiet, empty, and mean. "They made plans? Without my permission? Without even asking me?"
I hated this feeling, of not being in charge, how dare they make plans for me without my permission.
They've got some nerves.
The man gulped, his eyes moving to the broken pieces of glass on the floor. "Yes sir. They think it will make things better."
