Chapter 1 - Chapter one

The Transmigration

 ARIANA POV

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, wondering how my life had taken such a drastic turn. One moment, I was living my best life as a successful businesswoman; the next, someone who had just six months and now I'm... here.

But where was here, exactly? I had no idea. The last thing I remembered was being in a car accident I planned, and now I was standing in a lavish bedroom, surrounded by pretty furnishings and strange, medieval-style decorations which looked nothing like heaven or hell.

I looked down at my hands, and my eyes widened in shock. They weren't my hands….I mean they were, but they were now softer, more delicate, with a small tattoo of a wolf on the wrist.

A wave of panic washed over me as I stumbled backward, collapsing onto the bed. I didn't know what was happening to me.

And then, I saw it. A portrait on the wall, depicting a woman who looked... exactly like me.

But it wasn't me. The woman in the portrait had a gentle smile, a soft gaze, and an aura of quiet elegance that I could never pull off…not in a million years.

A nameplate beneath the portrait read: "Aria, wife of Alpha Alexander."

My mind reeled as I stared at the portrait, trying to make sense of this bizarre situation.

I was Aria now?....Even if my name is Ariana, it still felt odd having the same name and face with a total stranger.

But how did I get here?

And who the hell was Alpha Alexander?

_flashback_

I stared blankly at the doctor, his words echoing in my mind like a death sentence. "Miss Hastings, are you still with me?" he asked, his eyes etching with concern.

"I'm fine, Doctor," I replied, forcing a weak smile onto my face. It was a lie, a big one. But I couldn't bear to show him the turmoil brewing inside me.

The doctor's gaze lingered on mine, as if searching for any sign of vulnerability. "Where did I lose you?" he asked gently. "At the part where I said you have six months to live?"

I smirked, trying to appear nonchalant despite the storm raging within me. "I'm aware of my prognosis, Doctor. You don't have to sugarcoat it."

The doctor's expression turned somber as he stared at me with pity. "Ariana, I know this is hard to accept—"

But I cut him off mid-sentence, my voice firm but laced with a hint of desperation and annoyance. "I'm not broken, Doctor. It's just death. I'm fine."

I stood up, my legs trembling beneath me as I began to walk out of his office. The doctor called out after me, but I ignored him, my mind already racing with the implications of my diagnosis.

What was going to happen to my business?, My parents?, and my best friend's marriage coming up which I was planning for her. The grip on my cell phone tightening as I struggled to hold back my tears.

I knew I was sick but I never really knew the cause nor did I care. I couldn't go to the hospital because it always reminded me of my late sis and now I would be gone too.

The drive home was a blur, my thoughts consumed by the cruel fate that awaited me. Six months. That's all I had left. That's it…no addition, no subtraction.

As I stared at my reflection in the rear view mirror, I saw a stranger staring back at me. The doctor was right; my emotions were taking over.

I gripped the steering wheel tightly, my knuckles white with tension. I couldn't bear the thought of telling my mom, of watching her world shatter into a million pieces.

In a split second, I made a decision. I floored the accelerator, the speedometer climbing higher and higher. One thought echoed in my mind:

"To end it."

And then, just as suddenly, I feel myself slipping away.

I remained transfixed on the portrait, my mind still reeling from the memories that had resurfaced. The sound of rustling fabrics broke the silence, and I turned to see a flustered maid bursting into the room.

"My lady, the alpha is here, and he's... well, he's not pleased, plus you missed the banquet." the maid announced, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and urgency.

I stared back at her, confusion etched on my face. "What's an alpha?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

The maid's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape or a hidden listener. "You... you don't know?" she stammered.

I shook my head, feeling a growing sense of unease. "No, I don't. Who is he, and why is he angry?"

The maid's face paled, and she took a step back, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Alpha Alexander is your husband, my lady. And he's... not a man to be trifled with…why don't you remember?"

As she spoke, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from outside the room, growing louder with each passing moment. The maid's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a warning.

"Forget about that, he's coming, my lady. And you need to be prepared."

"Prepared for what?" I stared back at her confused.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and a towering figure loomed in the entrance. His piercing gaze swept the room, his eyes locking onto me with an unnerving intensity.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as the maid whispered, "Too late, my lady. He's here."

And with that, everything went dark.
