The Blackwater Kingdom was one of the regions bordering China.

As the Champion of the Blackwater Kingdom, Gasong was the first to sense the violent shockwaves rippling through the area.

He immediately contacted his country to issue earthquake warnings and deploy disaster relief personnel. Once arrangements were in place, he mounted his Aerodactyl and flew toward the source of the tremors.

Such regular and intense vibrations could only mean one of two things: either someone was deliberately causing trouble, or it involved a Legendary Pokémon—possibly even a rare treasure.

With a mixture of curiosity and anticipation, Gasong arrived at the scene.

What he witnessed was a battle between a massive Tyranitar and a Pokémon with a distinctive pink diamond adorning its head.

Although he couldn't identify the pink diamond-headed Pokémon, the fact that it could engage in combat with such an enormous Tyranitar made one thing abundantly clear—this was an incredibly powerful Pokémon, without question.

Moreover, it had to be a Legendary Pokémon!

"This battle is on a completely different level. There's no way I can get involved!" Gasong wanted desperately to capture both Pokémon locked in combat, but he lacked the strength to interfere. He could only observe silently from a safe distance.

His plan was simple: wait until both Pokémon exhausted themselves in battle, then swoop in to capture them both.

If he could secure two such powerful Pokémon, he would certainly advance further in the World Pokémon Tournament standings.

That strategy held firm until he witnessed an even larger Tyranitar descending from the sky.

"Which shameless person dares to steal my prize!" Gasong's eyes widened as he frantically searched for the owner of this Mega Tyranitar.

Soon enough, a massive black silhouette and a handsome young man came into view.

"Oh my God! The black Lugia!" Gasong's mind immediately conjured a name that had sparked heated discussions across the globe in recent weeks.

Chris!

Champion of China!

The instant that name and title formed in his mind, Gasong acted without a moment's hesitation. He released his ace Pokémon, Aerodactyl, Mega Evolved it the second it emerged from its Poké Ball, and fled toward his own country without looking back.

Only after confirming that Chris wasn't pursuing him did Gasong finally breathe a sigh of relief. However, clarity quickly returned to his thoughts.

"Wait... why am I running? I'm not a wanted criminal, and I'm not even within China's territory."

Because he had feared being caught in the crossfire between Tyranitar and Diancie's battle, Gasong had maintained a considerable distance and never actually crossed into Chinese territory.

"That's right, why should I run? What do I have to fear?" Gasong gradually regained his composure and turned back.

However, he only dared to fly along the border, observing from afar.

He remained firmly outside China's territory. If Chris attacked him here, then Chris would be in the wrong!

Gasong silently encouraged himself with this reasoning.

"What a shame. Why does Chris have to be at the border right now? That Tyranitar and the unknown Legendary Pokémon will both fall into his hands." Watching the colossal Tyranitar prepare to engage in battle, Gasong sighed helplessly. The trainer world was ruthless—only the strong deserved everything.

But then... what if he took photos and recorded videos to sell this information to the other eight Masters? Surely earning an information fee wasn't excessive?

As one of the top figures in the trainer world, any news about Chris held tremendous value!

With this thought in mind, Gasong positioned himself at his country's border and used a high-definition camera to film the entire battle from high altitude.

As he watched the footage, he couldn't help but curse under his breath.

Chris did notice the observer, but seeing that the person hadn't crossed into Chinese territory, he chose to ignore him.

After concluding his business, Chris departed with Diancie and headed north.

After flying approximately one hundred kilometers, they entered a sprawling mountain range. In an inconspicuous corner of these mountains, Chris discovered a cave entrance leading underground.

"This location is remarkably well-hidden," Chris remarked. If Gardevoir hadn't scanned the area, or if Diancie hadn't been guiding him, he never would have found this place.

"It's because we Carbink are far too weak. If we weren't hidden away, we would simply become food for other Pokémon," Diancie explained while leading the way deeper into the cave.

"Even with you here, are they still in danger?" Chris asked curiously. Could it be that the Pokémon harassing the Carbink population were all as powerful as that King-level Tyranitar?

Were there also King-level Aggron and Steelix prowling about?

"They can't remain by my side at all times. Once they leave my protection, they become vulnerable," Diancie said with a hint of helplessness in its voice.

For Pokémon such as Tyranitar, Steelix, and Aggron, Carbink with diamonds embedded in their bodies represented a highly nutritious delicacy. Even with Diancie's presence as a deterrent, Carbink still disappeared from time to time.

Chris nodded silently in understanding.

Gardevoir illuminated their path with a brilliant orb of light using Flash. They had already descended approximately one hundred meters below ground level.

Under the glow of the light, countless points of luminescence appeared along the surrounding cave walls. These were reflections from mirror-like surfaces catching the light.

These reflective surfaces were diamond veins running through the rock.

As the diamond mine where both Carbink and Diancie resided, these raw diamonds already possessed mirror-smooth surfaces without requiring any polishing whatsoever.

As the diamond veins became more prevalent, Carbink began appearing one by one.

Carbink resembled small rock formations, with a ring of white, fluffy material circling the middle of their bodies. They had bright blue eyes and diamond-shaped protrusions on their heads that looked like ears, giving them the appearance of rabbits half-buried in the ground with only their heads exposed.

They looked quite adorable as they bounced up and down through the air.

Diancie continued guiding Chris deeper into the cave. After descending roughly another hundred meters, the diamond veins appearing on the surrounding rock walls began glowing with increasingly brilliant colors.

These must be the smaller pieces of "Crystal Diamond Core" that Diancie had mentioned.

Tyranitar immediately burst out of its Poké Ball. Even though the cave couldn't properly accommodate its massive body, forcing it to lie inside like an oversized caterpillar, it still insisted on emerging.

The sudden appearance frightened the Carbink, who believed an enemy had invaded and began fleeing in panic.

"You troublemaker!" Chris had no choice but to use the Poké Ball to recall Tyranitar.

"It's quite alright. These Crystal Diamond Cores are of no particular use to us. Your Pokémon is welcome to enjoy them freely," Diancie quickly reassured its frightened companions and spoke generously to Chris.

Chris politely declined. "No, this glutton just consumed such a massive piece of Crystal Diamond Core. If I let it eat any more right now, it'll get a stomachache."

"tyran!" Tyranitar protested loudly from inside its Poké Ball, but Chris mercilessly kept it contained.

Diancie nodded in understanding and continued leading Chris and Gardevoir deeper underground.

Just over ten seconds later, Gardevoir suddenly issued an alert.

Deep within the cave, there existed an extremely concentrated energy mass.
