"It's not a capture—I'm simply providing Green Valley Ranch as a suitable habitat for Diancie."
"In exchange, it will provide me with some special diamonds. Those diamonds hold research value. If the opportunity arises, I'll bring them to the laboratory for study," Chris replied thoughtfully.
The Heart Diamond could serve as an energy source for Carbink's Diamond Kingdom, and perhaps he could develop it into a stable and powerful energy resource.
Of course, any Heart Diamonds used for this type of research would only come after Tyranitar's needs were met.
"By the way, speaking of Tyranitar's divine status, Teacher, do you know which Pokémon currently possesses a divine throne?" Chris asked.
"Of course I know."
"Which Pokémon?"
"Machamp!"
"Machamp?" Chris suddenly recalled that Professor Vladimir owned a Machamp powerful enough to compete head-on with Landorus. "Isn't it your Machamp, Teacher?"
"Whose else would it be? Which other Machamp would be worthy of the throne?" Vladimir declared proudly.
Finally, he had something to hold over his distinguished student.
Chris rubbed his chin thoughtfully. This meant he hadn't trained a Machamp himself, otherwise he would have to engage in a "teacher versus student" battle.
"Are there any other Pokémon with divine thrones?"
"None."
Chris grimaced slightly. It seemed that finding Pokémon who had achieved King status wasn't as easy as he'd hoped.
"Teacher, there's one more matter I need to ask you about."
With that said, Chris retrieved the Lustrous Orb from his pocket and placed it before Vladimir.
"Regarding this Lustrous Orb, I'm wondering where you obtained it?"
"From an S-rank Secret Realm," Vladimir answered immediately. The Lustrous Orb had helped him tremendously over the years. It could even be said that the Lustrous Orb deserved half the credit for his current achievements. Therefore, he still vividly remembered the process of acquiring it.
"What's the name of that S-rank Secret Realm?" Chris inquired.
"Hanging Island."
"Hanging Island..."
Chris vaguely recalled seeing this location in the list of Secret Realms within China, but he didn't know much about its scale.
He would need someone to guide him there, so he looked up and asked, "Teacher, are you available recently? I'd like to ask you to take me to this Secret Realm and show me where you found the Lustrous Orb."
"Why?" Vladimir didn't quite understand Chris's intentions. "I took everything worth taking from that place. There shouldn't be anything left where the Lustrous Orb was originally located."
Chris considered for a moment, then retrieved the "Adamant Orb" and explained, "This is the Adamant Orb, a treasure belonging to Dialga, the God of Time. The Lustrous Orb is the corresponding treasure of Palkia."
"Time and Space are clearly two deities of equal power, yet currently the strength of these two items differs drastically."
"I suspect that the Lustrous Orb may not be complete."
Chris had decided to first search for the Lustrous Globe with the theory that "the Lustrous Sphere is an ancient, superior version of the Lustrous Orb."
This seemed like the most probable conclusion.
Upon hearing that the blue crystal before him was an item corresponding to Dialga, the God of Time, Vladimir immediately straightened in his seat. His eyes brightened, and his Aura power unconsciously escaped his control.
Carefully, he reached out and picked up the Adamant Orb to examine it closely.
The Adamant Orb that Chris had retrieved from his Pokédex no longer exhibited the instability it had displayed when first discovered.
However, Vladimir could still sense the flowing, distorted temporal power within using his Aura abilities.
"It's undoubtedly the power of time," Vladimir confirmed with a nod.
"Although I don't know why you've reached this hypothesis, it reminds me of the scene when I obtained the Lustrous Orb. That Secret Realm appeared to be the ruins of an ancient civilization, complete with murals recording numerous mythological accounts."
"Since you want to go, I'll accompany you."
Ancient civilization, ruins, murals...
Chris could probably guess that it depicted a scene of ancient people worshipping Palkia.
He hoped to find something valuable there.
"When do you plan to go?"
"The day after tomorrow. I need to visit the East Sea tomorrow," Chris replied thoughtfully.
"Why are you going to the Dragon Nest in the East Sea? Don't tell me you want to train several more Dragon-type Pokémon and form a Dragon-type squadron?" Vladimir asked curiously.
What young person nowadays hadn't dreamed of assembling a team of Dragon-type Pokémon?
"I don't have that kind of time to spare," Chris said with a bitter smile, shaking his head.
He currently had numerous Dragon-type Pokémon in his possession.
Garchomp, Totem Haxorus, Shiny Haxorus, Dark Aerodactyl, Tyrantrum...
Each Pokémon possessed unique characteristics and tremendous potential. They all had the foundation to become Champion-level Pokémon. Unfortunately, he'd spent most of his time recently focusing on his first-tier lineup. Aside from Garchomp, he didn't have additional time to invest in training the others.
"Then why are you going to the East Sea Dragon Nest?"
"Teacher, didn't you know that the King of the Garchomp in the East Great Xia Sea Dragon Nest is a Garchomp with divine status?" Chris asked in return.
Vladimir immediately cast a questioning look at him.
"True or false? Who gave you this information? Even I, as the President of Dragon University, didn't know about this."
Chris shrugged. It seemed his teacher truly didn't know anything about it. "This is information I received from the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas, the God of Life."
"Xerneas... Well, that being certainly possesses more knowledge than I do as a university president," Vladimir immediately backed down upon hearing the source was the God of Life.
Thinking it over carefully, it made sense. The King of the Garchomp had already existed on Dragon Island before he'd arrived to become president.
The only content recorded in the school's history was about the "Wailord." Who would have thought that the Garchomp living on the Wailord's back was also a Pokémon possessing divine status?
However... wherever Chris went, he seemed to encounter these Legendary Pokémon that ordinary people rarely saw once in a lifetime.
"So, are you planning to have your Garchomp challenge its mother?" Vladimir recalled that Chris's Garchomp had also come from the East Great Xia Sea Dragon Nest.
"Divine thrones belong to the strong, and I believe this mother would be very pleased to be defeated by her own child," Chris said, his eyes gleaming. He thought about how if he had children in the future, and those children could defeat him on the path to becoming Trainers, he would be proud as well.
Only...
Chris glanced at his Pokédex.
Son, daughter—your father has a bit of a problem. If you want to defeat me, you might have to wait for your next life.
