By the time the three arrived at the gate, Wesker was already there. All the mansion's bodyguards had been killed by him. Wesker had come here for only one reason: to find an answer.
To uncover the truth and obtain the essential data on the Progenitor Virus, Wesker began searching for Spencer. The only problem was that Spencer had distanced himself from Umbrella's management before the company was dismantled. After exhausting all available resources—time, money, and connections—Wesker finally discovered Spencer's hideout: the seaside mansion he had built on a cliff.
Wesker arrived like a bolt of lightning at the ancient European castle where Spencer lived. Wesker thought the old man would be surprised by his sudden appearance, but Spencer merely lifted his lifeless eyes, looked at him, and said, "So you're here..." His sentence was cut short by a sudden laugh mixed with coughing.
If Wesker had once doubted Spencer, he still did now. The only thing he understood at that moment was that this seemingly weak old man controlled all of Umbrella's information—and even Wesker's own actions in recent years had been directed and manipulated by him. At that moment, Wesker finally understood the source of his anxiety over the past few years.
As if he could read Wesker's thoughts, Spencer revealed everything. The bioweapons development department had merely been a stepping stone toward his true goal: to force human evolution through the virus, bringing an end to the current human form and giving rise to a new, superior race. He intended to use this new humanity to build his own utopia—and rule over it as a god.
To study the fusion of humans with the Progenitor Virus, many children had been used in experiments. To monitor their development, each child was given the same last name: Wesker.
In the end, only one "Wesker" survived. This was Wesker's origin—a man-made product created by Umbrella using the Progenitor Virus.
Unfortunately, Spencer miscalculated one thing. His backup plan relied only on the mystique he had created around himself. Once the truth was exposed, Wesker no longer had to hold back. The frail old man was powerless to stop Wesker from sending him to his death.
"The power to become a god… is mine now."
With those words, Wesker also broke free from the chains that had always bound him.
Wesker killed Spencer with his own hands and threw his body to the floor. In that moment, Wesker felt a sense of transcendence. The shackles that had once restrained him had been completely shattered with Spencer's death. From that moment forward, it would be his era.
[A/N: Not for long, buddy.]
When Javier, Jill, and Chris reached the door, they heard a scream from inside and immediately rushed in. What they saw was Spencer's corpse on the floor—and Wesker standing in front of the window, looking coldly at the three of them.
"Wesker," Chris said, holding a gun.
Wesker looked at them and chuckled. "I didn't expect that when I finally became a god, my former subordinates would come to congratulate me."
Chris and Jill didn't waste time talking. They opened fire without hesitation.
Wesker dodged the bullets with ease and was in front of Chris in an instant. He knocked the pistol from Chris's hands and punched him. Chris was sent flying into the wall and collapsed heavily to the ground.
After taking down Chris, Wesker dashed toward Jill. She hadn't expected Wesker to be this powerful. She kept shooting, but unfortunately couldn't land a single shot. Just as Wesker reached her and was about to grab her—
A hand stopped him.
Wesker frowned and turned. "You… Javier." He hadn't expected Javier to be able to match his speed.
He was no longer human.
Wesker instantly backed off, watching Javier cautiously.
"You take care of Chris—I'll handle Wesker," Javier said without looking back.
Jill knew Javier couldn't handle Wesker alone, but she turned to tend to Chris anyway.
Wesker and Javier locked eyes, neither of them moving.
"Javier, you're incredibly strong. If you join me, I can give you the treatment of a god. Together, we could create a new world."
Javier scoffed at that.
He despised Wesker's arrogance.
Even he didn't believe he could become a god—where did Wesker get such confidence?
When Javier suddenly started laughing at him, Wesker's expression darkened—and he rushed forward. Javier blocked the strike immediately, and the two began fighting at superhuman speed.
Chris and Jill could only see flashes of residual afterimages on the side, causing them to swallow hard. This kind of battle was far beyond what they could handle.
Javier was stronger than Wesker—and was toying with him. Upon realizing that Wesker's current strength had hardly changed since their last encounter, Javier lost interest and delivered a full-powered punch.
Wesker was sent flying by the blow and crashed onto a table, completely shattering it. He stood up with difficulty, clutching his chest.
Javier's punch had broken several of his ribs and dented his chest, making Wesker feel searing pain. It was the first time he had been so injured since becoming infected with the virus.
Now, looking at Javier, Wesker felt real danger.
Without hesitation, Wesker removed his sunglasses, revealing his red eyes. After briefly glancing at the three, he threw his sunglasses at Javier.
Javier saw a blinking red light behind the lenses—he instantly knew it was a bomb. He quickly rushed to Jill and Chris, pulling them behind a pillar.
BOOM!
The sunglasses exploded. The shockwave made Jill and Chris's ears ring in pain. After the blast, the three emerged from cover—only to find Wesker gone.
Chris noticed the broken window—Wesker must've jumped out to escape.
When he reached the window, Chris looked down and saw a cliff connected to the sea. Wesker had vanished completely.
"Damn it… we let Wesker escape," Chris said in frustration. Jill walked over to Spencer's corpse. The explosion had also burned it, leaving his body completely charred.
Chris contacted HQ and requested a cleanup team. After all, there was important information in that mansion. Moreover, there was a prison beneath it that also contained several bioweapons.

(End of Chapter)
"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
