ALDRIC PARKER
Aldric was enraged when he first leaped, his body moving with a force that sent the ground beneath him splintering apart. The air cracked around him, pressure snapping like a whip as he shot forward, propelled by nearly all of his strength.
Morpheus had broken the pact.
The contract had been simple—Morpheus would be allowed to exist in The Dreaming with Aldric and Julian protecting him and in return, the village of Hornet would be allowed to exist using the authority of Morpheus. It was an agreement made with knowledge that neither side could truly destroy the other.
As part of that contract, The Guardian had been forged.
The male Guardian—his creation—was formed from thirty percent of Aldric's own strength, bound to a weapon he had given him. The female Guardian—Julian's creation—had been made from half of Julian's power.
Every hundred years, Morpheus would be permitted to walk in The Waking for a single year before returning to The Dreaming.
