The hall swam with demons, big and small. I could barely stare too long at anyone. But helping demons?
This was past it, but I could feel the lingering of faith in their eyes as they watched me step inside the throne room, seated on it. My mere presence gave them hope.
The slight mumblings of the demons and dark creatures alike made my skin crawl. Never in my life had I seen so many creatures waiting on something like hope.
I once thought demons were bloodsuckers and flesh-eating monsters, but seeing them gathered before me, I doubt if I'll ever think the same again.
How do I crush it—by telling them that I didn't even know who I was or what I was doing here?
"Ehem," I cleared my throat. Everyone's attention fixed on me.
"Please, can someone tell me what I am doing here?"
