Chapter 4 - Unnamed

Sir amadi's wife ,mrs chika was angry that her husband brought amaka with him,even though they had the resources she never wanted her husband to help his relatives,she wanted the money for herself and their girls.sir amadi had to plead with her that amaka was forced into his hands cause he was the only capable relative that could help, she still did not accept and asked him to send amaka back to the village .

After much pleading,mrs chika accepted but with a condition,that amaka could stay but would be the maid and would not be sent to school ,sir amadi did not like the idea but never gave it a second thought ,cause he thought amaka would soon get used to it.

He was a very busy man so much that he hardly noticed things happening in his home,he left the house at 5 am in the morning and came back at 10 pm in the night.sir amadi thought money could bring happiness but no he was wrong,his children were affected by his busy kind of nature,they had anything money could afford but lacked love .thier mother was a strict woman she loved her children dearly but was always busy with fashion and gossip.

While sir amadi and his wife were having a conversation ,ada was helping amaka unpack her bag to settle in the room that was showed to her,as they were umpacking ada was encouraging and consouling her cousin ,they later finished took thier bath and was ready for bed .

The next morning as early as 4 am ,mrs chika woke amaka ,she was taken to the kitchen for preparation of the morning meal ,cause sir amadi would soon be off for work,amaka washed the dishes ,cleaned the house and helped with the cooking ,even though she was tired from the previous days' s journey ,she had to endure ,before her journey the oldest woman in her family called her to her litttle but clean hut for a chit- chat, she told.amaka to be ready to recieve any form of welcome her uncle' s wife was going to give her, she explianed that life was full of ups and downs and that amaka should not worry cause it was just for a short period of time ,amaka could not help but cry ,she left the hut in grief but after giving it a thought she promised herself to be ready to face anything that would come her way.
