"It is a soul artifact, an artifact created by intent and smithed with the material of the soul, with cadonian material, it is linked to it's creator and it's purpose, in this case, that purpose being magic and fighting, both being enhanced, though, if I might ask something of you?"
Leyk nodded subconsciously, already knowing she planned something that should benefit him quite a bit as well, that was for sure, after all, had she been against them, why would eh have laughed to calm them down, why would she have wanted to talk to them in person, if she even counted as a kind of person, why would she really have done anything, it would not really make any sense, no sense at all, had she wanted to fight or kill them, though, fighting was only a wishful thought of Leyk, there wouldn't have been a fight, that was for certain.
Still, just what did she mean with soul artifact, had he created his soul, well, what even was the soul?
In ancient texts he had heard that the soul was experiences, but so was the subconscious from what Cade shad told him, so was Cades his soul, and if that was true, were ghosts, beings made of a soul's remnants like Cades, and if so, was he possessed?
No, that was certain, he wasn't being possessed, if at all, he was hearing voices that weren't there, not much better in his opinion though, but if experiences were the soul then it still made sense, he had been poring himself, everything he had known and experienced into that thing, he had felt Cades and he had felt Leyk, and he had felt how he had fed it all to that simple weapon, to that tool, to that earring that now rested in the hands of motion itself.
So, he had fed his soul to the tool?
Then it made sense, though he had to ask, who would feed themselves to a giant glowing golden stone just to create sand golems to protect a lost kingdo-
No, the kingdom hadn't always been lost, and that world certainly hadn't been that strong, being about as strong, if not quite a bit weaker, than ehetria, a world known for being weak, simply respected for knowledge, ingenuity, and the fact of the matter that the developed more simple and basic spells that most other worlds, being the most trusted manufacturers of artifact as well as many other things.
So why were they trying to destroy that kingdom, why had they destroyed ehetria, why had they given themselves up, why had they put so much effort into destroying a kingdom in that world, something simply as he had now realized, even just because he would be able to destroy that city, small but relatively strong, that he had already attacked once, in minutes by now, a feat not many others could even hope to emulate, even beings of the same rank, especially since minutes would only be the case if they all attacked instantly and he first fought everything before he destroyed the city, while, in reality, he would probably just surprise them with the attack.
"I'm going to give this little ring here a bit more, that is the very least I can do for passing my last test with such a great deal of effort, truly, you have exceeded my expectations, be it only slightly."
So she was giving him something indeed, Leyk thought once more, already having confirmed that and spiralled from there, as he watched the woman still hold the ring between her index finger and thumb of her left hand as she tipped onto it thrice with her left index finger, whereas a clear sound resonated through the entirety of his mind, and even motion itself, every time she touched it.
"Here, this should be a nice bonus..." she said as the ring suddenly vanished.
The next moment Leyk felt a light but stabbing pain at his right ear, the lob to be exact, and knew that he had just been pierced by motion itself, quickly rushing to touch his right ear, feeling the sensation of the smooth but still scarred ring, quickly realizing that something had changed as he punched himself in the face and he felt how a single one of his teeth began to hurt, quickly healing though.
Motion, his motion had become faster, and now, his mind was following, truly, a gift befitting of motion, a simple but incredibly powerful acceleration, his velocity having been heightened, even if he could probably not use it for too long.
Still, he felt how much faster he was, at least two, no perhaps even three times, as much as normal, a difference from which he was truly feeling nauseous when he thought about it once more, rushing to take a step forward and test this new skill he had acquired after all this time, until he was hit by even more.
Without even thinking about it, subconsciously, he perceived his surroundings through mana, even though he had turned it off in this place as to not annoy her, the being of motion itself, and he felt his understanding of the mana heighten slightly, he felt his intent becoming sharper, he felt his fighting prowess growing, his strength growing, he felt how he became more powerful, and without him even knowing ,a blackish violet flame slowly rose from the ring as he moved, following the excited child that seemed to run around everywhere, testing this incredibly exciting new toy they had made, with the great pillar of motion just standing there, smiling brightly.
One minute he did so, then two, then three, then it stopped, and his velocity went down, though his strength, will, awareness, concentration, understanding, everything, was still quite a bit greater than was normal for him, he had learned the limits of it all, though to him, it had felt more like nine minutes, more than enough for a normal fight, and surely, it shouldn't take too long to replenish the used energy either, it was just that he had gotten a bit too nauseous, something he'd just have to get used to it.
Then she clapped her hands, quickly garnering Leyk's awareness once more, his attention.
"Now, let's talk about the actual reward."
