The team gathers around to look at Caitlin's blood test results, fascinated by what they see.
"This is amazing. Your cells seem to have somehow gained the ability to manipulate the laws of thermodynamics.
Your cells likely produce a unique form of energy that draws heat from the environment, reversing the usual thermodynamic flow.
Your cells also seem to be producing quantum-level cold fusion reactions that convert environmental thermal energy into biochemical energy or simply disperse it," Dr Wells says.
"Not only that, your powers can rapidly decelerate molecular motion, as heat is essentially the kinetic energy of particles, meaning you actually have the power to slow down or completely drain a speedster's power," Cisco says.
"Great observation, Cisco. Caitlin's newfound powers might be the exact thing that can help us bring down the man in yellow," Dr. Wells says.
Barry has kept his mouth shut till now, but as he listens to Dr. Wells' explanation, he begins to wonder why Dr. Wells would go out of his way to create more problems for himself.
"Hoho, your powers are incredible. Not only can you do all that. You can create cold plasma and shoot at people; you are now also completely immune to cold stress, so you will no longer get hypothermia or frostbite. You can chug down an entire cup of the coldest iced coffee and feel nothing," Cisco says. His excitement is through the roof.
While Cisco seems all excited, and Dr. Wells is scheming something, Barry notices Caitlin doesn't seem that excited about this.
"Dr. Wells, you said that Caitlin's suddenly gaining her power might be because of our recent relationship? What do you mean by that?" Barry asks.
"Well, it's quite simple, Mr. Allan. You see, when you move fast, you release a lot of Dark Matter via the Speed Force. And I can only assume, you use your powers in your personal life as well," Dr Wells says.
Caitlin blushes as she hears this, as she knows what Dr Wells means. Barry, too, feels a little awkward.
As for Cisco, a light bulb suddenly goes up in his head, and he looks at Barry with wide eyes. "Holy shit, you actually have a super... No... I am not going to complete that sentence... I am going to keep my mouth shut," Cisco says, but everyone in the room already knows what he meant to say.
"So yes, your closeness to Dr. Snow exposed her to a large amount of Dark Matter, which seems to have triggered the dormant Meta Human genes in her to wake up, leading to her gaining Cryogenic powers," Dr. Wells finishes his explanation.

Back to the topic at hand.
Just as Dr. Wells and Cisco described, Caitlin's power seems extremely useful, and they are. To be able to draw energy from anything that she touches is indeed overpowered, and her powers can easily subdue a speedster like him.
But there is this thing with speedsters: to subdue one, you need to see one coming, and no matter how powerful Caitlin's cryokinesis is, she is not fast enough to see a speedster coming, especially someone like the Reverse Flash.
Dr. Wells suggesting Caitlin as a possible weapon against the man in yellow might just be another way for him to establish more trust with the team, or maybe there is something more to this than Barry can see through.
"We need to do more studies on you, Miss Snow. If we can harness your powers just as we intend to do with Mr. Allan's, then we can bring great change to the world, we can tackle cancer, climate change, energy efficiency, and agriculture. We can do so much more good," Dr. Wells says, painting a grand picture for Caitlin, just like he did for Barry.
Barry feels a sense of déjà vu hearing Dr. Wells say the same things he said to him say to Caitlin.
But hearing Dr. Wells, Caitlin seems to get even more nervous.
"Why don't we let Caitlin rest for a while. Give her some space so that she can process everything that's happening," Barry says.
Caitlin looks at him, thankful, while Dr. Wells and Cisco decide to give Caitlin some space as she thinks this through.
Barry approaches Caitlin and puts his hand on her shoulder. "You don't seem that excited about your newfound powers," Barry says.
"I don't know what to feel. This happened all of a sudden. I don't know if I even want powers. When it happened... When the powers burst out of me, it felt so cold, so inhuman, so unlike me...
We spend all our time catching Meta-Humans who use their powers for evil. What... what if I turn out to be the same?" Caitlin says.
"Why would you even think that? Look at me, I have powers, I try to be good," Barry says.
"It's different, Barry. You are like... the most wonderful person I have ever met in my life. You are kind, you are passionate, and you always put others before yourself. I am not," Caitlin says.
"You are grossly exaggerating me. Look, I can be selfless because I can afford to be selfless. My powers... they almost make me invincible, and that allows he to look beyond myself and help those who need my assistance. But if there comes a time when I have to choose between being selfless and selfish, I might choose to be selfish.
We are humans, and we can choose to do what we want. And I know you are a good person, you are kind, you are empathetic, you are passionate, and I don't think you can ever be bad, even if you wanted to.
And it's not like you have to be just like me. You can still be the smart, sexy, beautiful doctor that I know, who will guide me while I go out there to save people." Barry says. His words soothed Caitlin and erased her worries.
She feels much better knowing that if something bad does happen, she will have Barry to lean on.
"Thank you," Caitlin says, smiling beautifully.
"Well, I would rather have a kiss than a thank you," Barry says, smiling cheekily.
Caitlin bites her lips and leans in and kisses him.
Barry wraps his hand around her, pulls her in and kisses her back as they lose themself to passion, and all the worries that Caitlin still had disappear under Barry's electric touch.
