Clink scoffed. Did he believe her? No, but would he allow her give whatever silly explanation she thought would be able to convince him? Yes.
She was lucky he had time, and had also promised to not be too hard on her.
"And when did this certain illness of yours begin?" he asked.
"Two days ago, father. I woke up feeling terrible," she bowed her head.
"I said look at me when I am speaking to you.".
Instantly she looked up, she did not want to hear his harsh voice again. It scared her, he scared her.
"You did not seem to be ill with anything on the day of Ian's wedding. In fact, you even left the manor early to go and put the finishing touches on the preparations," he scoffed.

"So tell me, did this your illness start during the ceremony or after?".
