Chapter 19: The First Exam
The day of the first exam is here, Kazuo and Nendai are making their way to the school.
Nendai: Are you ready for the exam?
Kazuo: Of course, what about you?
Nendai: I'm ready. I wonder where the exam is going to be held.
Kazuo: Same here, they're only telling us today.
Nendai: Wherever it is I'll be sure to rank high.
Kazuo: You're awfully confident for a support type. Are you sure you can keep up?
Nendai: Of course, I can, don't underestimate me.
Kazuo: Whatever you say.
They both arrive at class, waiting for the teacher. The teacher arrives.
Ms. Aikawa: Looks like everyone is here. So as you all know the first exam is here. I hope everyone is ready for it. We will be making our way to the busses in a short while, you may ask me any questions regarding the test as we wait.
Kanata (raises hand)
Ms. Aikawa: Yes, Kanata
Kanata: Will there be a time limit for the test? If so how long?
Ms. Aikawa: There is a time limit, you will have 2 hours to get as many bells as you can.
Seito: (Raises hand) Can we go all out during the test?
Ms. Aikawa: Yes, you may use any means possible. The only rule is no killing. That's the only thing prohibited.
Horiato: How many can qualify for the second part of the test?
Ms. Aikawa: 6 students per round. If there is more than 6 still remaining after the timer ends, the students with the most bells will qualify.
Nendai: How many points are each bell worth?
Ms. Aikawa: Each bell is worth 2 points, there are also placement points. Placement points depend on how many are standing after the test is over. If you have the most bells you will be placed first and receive 20 points. The second most bells received is 18, third and fourth is 16 points, 5th and 6th is 14 points. Anyone who is between the 7th to 20th will receive 10 points. 21st to 30th will receive 5. Anyone below that receives none.
Seito: There aren't many points available for everyone.
Kanata: Anything placed below 20 is basically nothing.
Nendai: The top 6 will be given even more points when they go to the second part of the test. Making the gap even larger.
Horiato: Don't you think that the gap between the top 12 students will be too large?
Ms. Aikawa: It is true that the gap will be large, but those who don't perform well here don't get anything. That's how it works here, perform well and you earn more.
Kazuo(in his head): The school gives better treatment for those who perform well in tests huh? They are trying to see which students are the strongest with this test.
Ms. Aikawa(checks message on her phone): Listen up everyone, let's get moving.
The teacher and students make their way to the outside of the school where busses are waiting for them
Nendai: Busses?
Ms. Aikawa: Yes, the test will be taken somewhere outside of the school. It'll take us roughly 20-30 minutes to arrive.
Seito: That's long time for a test, and where are the other classes?
Ms. Aikawa: They will be arriving at a different time, get on the bus.
Iroase: I wonder where are we heading
Seito: Who knows what this school is thinking
After they all get on the bus they make their way to the place where the test will be held. After a while, they arrive.
Nendai: Where are we?
Kanata: Look to the left!
Seito: Woah, this place is huge.
The students are standing outside of a huge dome.
Ms. Aikawa: This place is the Abandoned City, it's about half the size of a normal city.
Kazuo: So I can his is where the test will be held
Ms. Aikawa: I will explain how the test will be conducted once we are inside, follow me.
They all follow the teacher inside the dome
