Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Becoming a Disciple

"The Dragon Ball?" Master Roshi held up the three-star Dragon Ball hanging around his neck and hesitated, "But this pearl seems very precious."

"Unless..." As he spoke, Master Roshi looked at Bulma's full figure with a lewd expression and continued, "Unless you let me touch it." As he said this, he made a vulgar gesture and slowly approached Bulma.

Hearing Master Roshi's lewd words, Bulma's face turned red with anger, and she swung her arm, slapping Master Roshi's face.

Master Roshi was caught off guard and stumbled back, his face now marked with a red handprint. Bulma's hand, on the other hand, was swollen from the force of the slap, and it hurt so much that she was blowing on it to ease the pain.

Master Roshi rubbed his sore face and said, "It was just a joke. You don't have to get so upset."

Seeing that the young girl's hand was swollen, Master Roshi took the Dragon Ball from around his neck and handed it to Bulma, saying, "Okay, okay, this Dragon Ball is yours."

Bulma's anger dissipated, and she smiled as she took the three-star Dragon Ball and said to John, "We've obtained another Dragon Ball. Now we have four Dragon Balls. Once we collect the remaining three, we can summon the Eternal Dragon and make our wishes. I'm so happy, John. Are you happy too?"

John nodded and said, "Of course, I'm very happy."

Master Roshi walked up to John and said, "John, your two friends have received their gifts. What gift do you want? But let me tell you in advance that I don't have the Flying Nimbus or the Dragon Ball anymore."

John immediately bowed and said, "Master Roshi, I don't want any gifts."

"Oh, you don't want a gift? Then what do you want?" Master Roshi asked, his tone no longer as calm as before.

Master Roshi had lived for hundreds of years and was very experienced. He knew that if John wanted a gift, it wouldn't be a problem. However, if a young person like John asked for a gift, the request that followed would likely be difficult to fulfill.

John was well aware of Master Roshi's thoughts, but he had to make this request. Even if he obtained the body of a Saiyan through the Eternal Dragon, he would still need to learn martial arts in the Dragon Ball world. Martial arts knowledge was not something that could be easily obtained, and it was often guarded by various sects and factions.

Master Roshi was the current strongest martial artist on Earth in the Dragon Ball world, making him the perfect teacher for John's martial arts training.

It was Master Roshi's foundation that allowed the low-level warrior Son Goku to become the future universe's strongest warrior.

John bowed deeply and sincerely said, "Master Roshi, after completing this adventure with Bulma and Goku, I hope to become your disciple and formally study martial arts."

"Please!" John bowed again.

"You want to become my disciple?" Master Roshi was surprised, as he had expected John to ask for something unreasonable.

Looking at the sincere young man in front of him, Master Roshi hesitated and said, "Becoming a disciple is a serious matter. I don't know anything about you, so tell me why you want to study martial arts."

"Don't even think about lying to me. I can see through any lies," Master Roshi said.

John immediately replied, "Of course, the reason I want to study martial arts is simple. It's to survive!" As he spoke, John's tone became slightly more emotional, as this was truly his most genuine thought.

"Survive?" Master Roshi was even more surprised. He had assumed that John would say something like becoming the strongest on Earth or the strongest in the universe, but he never expected John to say he wanted to survive.

Master Roshi had just examined John and found that he had no foundation in martial arts. Although John was strong, he could easily survive by not provoking powerful opponents.

However, John wanted to become his disciple just to survive, which piqued Master Roshi's curiosity.

Master Roshi asked, "Why do you have such a reason? If you just want to survive, I can give you some of my longevity elixir, and you'll be able to live forever as long as you don't get killed."

John shook his head and said, "That method may not guarantee survival in the future."

"Why?" Master Roshi was now even more confused.

John continued, "Because Earth is just a small planet in the universe, and there are many other planets with life. Some of these planets have very strong life forms that like to invade and occupy other planets."

"Earth will eventually be discovered by aliens, and without powerful martial arts skills, it will be impossible to survive and protect Earth."

"Alien invasion!" Master Roshi's expression turned serious. He knew about the existence of the Earth's god, having learned from Cat Sage that the current god was actually an alien.

However, Master Roshi had never considered the possibility of an alien invasion on Earth before, and he was completely caught off guard by John's reminder.

Now, Master Roshi felt that the possibility of an alien invasion was very high.

Master Roshi looked up at John and said, "I really want to take you as my disciple, but you should know that your martial arts progress is limited not by your efforts but by your physical constitution. If your constitution is not suitable for martial arts, no matter how hard you try, your progress will be very limited."

"Unfortunately, I just took a look at your physical constitution, and I don't think you're suitable for martial arts training. I suggest you choose another profession."

Hearing that Master Roshi was willing to take him as a disciple as long as he changed his physical constitution, John immediately replied with joy, "Master, please rest assured. I'm currently working on solving the problem of my physical constitution. Once I've done that, you can take me as your disciple."

"You can solve your physical constitution?" Master Roshi was initially confused but then remembered Bulma mentioning the collection of the seven Dragon Balls and making a wish to the Eternal Dragon.

Suddenly, he realized what John was referring to and said, "So, you're going to solve your physical constitution problem by making a wish to the Eternal Dragon!"

John smiled but didn't say anything, implicitly agreeing with Master Roshi's statement.

Seeing John's implicit agreement, Master Roshi couldn't go back on his promise and said, "Okay, as long as you make a wish to the Eternal Dragon to solve your physical constitution problem, I can take you as my disciple. Just remember your wish today when you become a powerful martial artist in the future."

John was overjoyed at first but became serious when he heard Master Roshi's final instruction. He sincerely replied, "Yes, Master, I will never forget!"
