After agreeing to John's request, Master Roshi bid farewell to Bulma and Goku and rode his sea turtle back into the depths of the ocean.
Bulma was puzzled as to why Master Roshi had left without giving John a gift.
John explained, "He gave me a promise."
"A promise? What promise?" Bulma asked curiously.
John replied, "He promised to take me as his disciple after we summon the Eternal Dragon and make our wishes."
"What? You want to become that perverted old man's disciple!" Bulma exclaimed, shocked. "John, I must warn you. It's okay to become his disciple, but you must not learn his perverted habits. Otherwise, we can't even be friends."
Seeing Bulma's anger, John felt embarrassed and said, "Bulma, Master Roshi is just a bit playful because he has lived for so long. It was just a joke. You shouldn't take it to heart."
"Hmph, I don't care what he does. I just hope you don't turn out like him," Bulma said, taking out a car capsule and releasing a car.
John didn't mind Bulma's anger, as he knew that their fates were intertwined.
"Goku, let's go!" John shouted to Goku, who was still playing with the Flying Nimbus in the distance.
Hearing John's voice, Goku immediately flew down from the Flying Nimbus.
"It's okay. You can drive the car, and I'll follow behind you on the Flying Nimbus," Goku said.
Bulma had been jealous of Goku riding the Flying Nimbus earlier, and now she was even more annoyed. She grabbed Goku by the ear and pulled him into the car, saying, "No way. If we're going, we're all going together. No one gets special treatment. We'll drive the car, and you can't ride the Flying Nimbus."
Bulma opened the car door and pushed Goku inside.
Goku had no choice but to sit in the car, as he didn't want to upset Bulma.
John got into the driver's seat and started the car, following Bulma's directions towards the location of the fifth Dragon Ball.
The next morning, they arrived at the location of the fifth Dragon Ball, which turned out to be a small town. However, it was strange that there was not a single person in the town, and all the doors and windows were tightly closed.
Bulma asked, "Why is there no one here? Where did everyone go?"
Goku walked up to a door and listened with his ears, and he immediately heard sounds coming from behind the door.
Without waiting for John or Bulma to stop him, Goku excitedly shouted, "Ha! I've caught you!"
He punched the door, shattering it, and walked inside.
However, the first thing that greeted Goku was not a person but an axe, which struck him on the head.
The axe shattered, and a large bump appeared on Goku's head.
Seeing that their axe had broken, and the boy's head was only in pain, the people inside the house immediately knelt before Goku and pleaded, "Lord Oolong, please forgive us! We won't dare to do it again. Please spare us!"
This scene shocked both Bulma and Goku, but John remained calm and said to the villagers, "Hello, everyone. We're good people. We just passed through your town, and we're not Lord Oolong. You've mistaken us for someone else."
The villagers believed that they were not Lord Oolong, as Lord Oolong could transform into many different forms, but he always acted alone and didn't have any companions. Therefore, these people must not be Lord Oolong.
Bulma took out a cold towel and placed it on Goku's bump, then asked the villagers, "Can you tell us about Lord Oolong?"
An elderly villager stepped forward and explained, "Lord Oolong is a powerful monster from the mountains. No one knows what he looks like, and each time he appears, he has a new face. He is truly terrifying."
John asked, "What bad things has he done to make everyone so afraid of him?"
The villager continued, "Well, besides extorting money from us, the worst thing he does is forcibly taking brides. Those brides he takes are never seen again, and we don't know if they're still alive or if he has eaten them!"
"Today is the day Lord Oolong comes to take a bride, so we all hid in our homes. When this young man attacked our door, we thought he was Lord Oolong, so we attacked him."
By this time, Goku's bump had disappeared, and he had regained his energy. Goku was curious as he had never seen so many people before. Aside from John and Bulma, the only other person he had met was Master Roshi.
Goku walked up to an elderly woman and carefully examined her, then suddenly reached out to touch her private parts. John quickly stopped him.
Bulma, who was talking to the villagers, was startled and apologized to everyone. Then, she grabbed Goku's ear and said, "Your action just now was very rude!"
Goku innocently replied, "I just wanted to confirm if she was a girl. John told me that girls don't have a tail."
Bulma's face turned red, and she glared at John, saying, "You're teaching this kid bad habits!"
John was speechless. He had only wanted to teach Goku common sense and prevent him from saying the wrong things, but he never expected Goku to determine a person's gender by touching them.
Bulma didn't dwell on the topic, as it would only lead to more confusion. Instead, she took out a Dragon Ball and asked the villagers, "Have any of you seen a pearl like this before?"
As Bulma held up the Dragon Ball, an elderly woman who had been about to be attacked by Goku walked forward, holding a pearl. "Is this the pearl you're looking for?" she asked.
The pearl in the old woman's hand began to glow due to the resonance with the Dragon Ball, indicating that it was genuine. Bulma happily counted the stars inside the Dragon Ball and confirmed that it was the six-star Dragon Ball.
Seeing Bulma's expression, the old woman realized that the pearl she had was what Bulma was looking for.
The old woman forced a smile and said, "This pearl is yours. But it's a family heirloom that has been passed down for generations."
