Faith's POV
I found myself sitting in the middle of the room, cross-legged on the floor, staring into space like a bored psychic waiting for a ghost to whisper stock tips.
My brain? Blank.
My heart? Loud. My gut? Screaming something stupid like, "do something chaotic!"
I didn't even know what exactly I wanted to do. But sitting still made my skin itch. It had been weeks since I last saw Khana, and the weird thing? A part of me hoped she'd show up again.
Yeah, no. That's a lie.
I mean, maybe she was finally resting... or maybe this mansion just eats people and spits out mystery after mystery like a haunted soap opera.
I glanced over at the new phone Felix had given me yesterday. Shiny. Sleek. Ridiculously expensive.
He'd handed it to me like it was a cursed object.
"Here… I bought this for you. If you don't like it, you can bring it back or… um… yeah."
