Latios and Latias—the Blue Eon and the Red Eon—together, they are known as the Eon Pokémon.
Just like Deoxys, who represents the "stranger from the heavens," the names Latios and Latias also originate from the world of gods.
"Infinity" refers to Aeon from Gnosticism—eternal beings that existed alongside the divine for endless time. Their link to soul and mind stems from divine emanations of the Supreme God, existing either as sentient mystical energy or personified figures within the universe. They are the source of human soul and consciousness.
In a sense, the twin guardians of the Water Capital are angels from the divine realm.
"Lati?"
The Shiny Latios didn't understand Deoxys's question, but it conveyed its feelings to the celestial visitor.
It had grown up in another world. While tales passed down among its kin spoke of souls crystallizing after death and returning to a radiant realm, Latios itself had never seen that wondrous world.
Its response reminded Hikaru of the guardian of the Water Capital.
In the movie, Latios sacrificed itself—its soul drifting away from Earth, ascending into the boundless cosmos, seemingly returning to a distant homeland.
Yet, its soul never truly vanished. It transformed into a new Soul Dew within a flash of light.
[So that's how it is… You too came from that realm. But you arrived too early—"God" sent you here.]
[To see companions from before the Age of Time... I'm truly happy.]
Deoxys was glad. Encountering more Pokémon from the beyond made it feel less alone in this world.
Though many Pokémon had come from space, not all hailed from the same realm. Just like the mighty Dragon Comets—they came from different domains. Some were dragon gods who brought ideals and truths to the world. Others brought eternal darkness.
But this Latios—these Eon Pokémon—they had come from the same origin as Deoxys.
From the same realm, venturing into different worlds.
"That's a Pokémon?"
Madam Valachia looked at the Master Ball floating in midair. She didn't press the issue—just asked curiously.
Hikaru: "A partner of mine."
Valachia: "I see... It seems many mysterious Pokémon gather around you. You must be someone special. Meeting you... has been my great fortune."
She gave him a sincere bow, then pulled something out of her handbag.
"Latios gave you something special to show its gratitude. You reunited us… I'm truly thankful."
"I really am... happy."
Her smile was genuine, but her voice trembled slightly.
Latios gently nuzzled her cheek, and Valachia smiled through her tears, wiping them away.
"So thank you, mysterious traveler from afar."
"This may not be anything precious... just a token of my gratitude. Please accept it."
[Item: PP Max]
[Description: A very expensive medicine that permanently increases the PP of one of a Pokémon's moves to its maximum.]
"I've decided to pick up my old dream again. I suppose... it's not too late after all."
She smiled again, then turned to gaze up at the chapel, a deep sense of awe in her expression.
"This place really is something else."
"My grandfather wasn't wrong—our world and another do indeed intersect. What we see in dreams can become reality. Dreams are the bridge between the two worlds."
"I will seek others who once stepped into the other world. I'll tell them about this chapel… and pass on this feeling of gratitude."
Hikaru understood—this place would later become the very location visited by the protagonists of Black and White. The strange people who appear in the chapel would soon arrive one by one. After the mass production of the C-Gear, people would finally begin to understand the nature of the Dreamlight.
Having said his farewells to Madam Valachia, Hikaru had completed the mission for this chapel—unexpectedly, yet perfectly.
[Mission Complete!]
[Reward: Dreamlight Orbs ×5, Ancient Longing ×1, Heart's Whirlpool ×1, Star Pieces ×10, Big Nuggets ×2]
[Ancient Longing: A crystallization of countless emotions and heartfelt gratitude. This longing contains old dreams. Greatly enhances emotional sensitivity and allows connection to souls, nature, and life.]
[Heart's Whirlpool: Transforms memories and longings into a whirlpool of the heart and infuses them into crafted items. Everyone you meet—human or Pokémon—will leave a reflection in the whirlpool. Encounters are the beginning of everything.]
[Note: One of the Dream Link rewards.]
[Bonus: Sky's Blessing ×1! VSTAR Celestial Power ×1!]
Star Pieces weren't uncommon in Unova.
And Big Nuggets needed no introduction.
[Item: Big Nugget]
[Description: A massive chunk of pure gold. Glows with a golden gleam. Collectors will pay handsomely for it.]
Riolu turned back to look at the chapel.
The friendship between Latios and Valachia had moved him.
Memories and longing… he once had those too, but his past ended before it truly began.
Now, all that remained were regrets and disappointment.
"Arf?"
Riolu turned to Larvesta and asked what life was like in ancient times. Did she have any special memories?
But the little bug blinked with a puzzled look and a head full of question marks.
Nope! She'd been revived in the modern era.
Though Volcarona had spoken of how the ancients lived, she'd only lived a few centuries herself. Most of what she knew came from records left in the Ancient Castle.
The ancient spirits probably knew more. They said she was the child of some deity or something.
As for memories, it might be better to ask Aegislash—he really had lived in ancient times.
"…But don't get your hopes up too much."
Hikaru chimed in, overhearing their chat. "Aegislash's memories are fragmented. He used to just do errands in the ancient kingdom."
"Hey—!"
One of Hikaru's Poké Balls shook. Aegislash was not happy.
What's that supposed to mean!? Just errands?!
He still learned all kinds of useful stuff!
Why shouldn't an errand knight count as a real knight!?
Riolu sighed and shook his head.
Ah well… all his teammates seemed to have zero thoughts about the future—and no memories of the past either.
But no past meant he could start creating memories from the present.
The blue puppy pondered this, then looked at the Heart Scale in his paws.
Not endless training… but a journey.
And this journey had already brought so many wonderful encounters.
If he continued following his Trainer, he'd see even more. Make more memories.
Riolu raised the Heart Scale high, and the sunlight reflected off its surface, making it shine brilliantly.
Meanwhile, Hikaru finally had time to examine the green orb he'd acquired.
Truthfully, it had startled him.
[Item (?): Verdant Orb]
[Description: A jade-green orb that glows with a brilliant light. Deeply connected to the legends of Hoenn. It had been hidden in the Floccesy chapel for a long time, covered in dust. Long ago, it crossed time and space to reach this world. It has lost its master.]
[Effect: A bead capable of summoning Rayquaza at a crucial location. A crystallization of natural energy. Extremely rare. If given to Rayquaza… something might happen.]
A bead of energy.
Putting aside the Life, Flame, and Toxic Orbs, the most famous of these are the Red Orb and Blue Orb.
They are also crystallizations of natural energy—associated with Groudon and Kyogre.
When given to their respective Pokémon, they trigger Primal Reversion, unleashing catastrophic drought or torrential rains.
But little known is that Rayquaza has a corresponding bead too.
Unlike the Red and Blue Orbs, the Verdant Orb doesn't induce Primal Reversion. It only appeared once in all Pokémon media.
Professor Oak once obtained it from an unknown source and gave it to the game's protagonist. Its origin was never explained.
Though related to Hoenn, it ended up in the hands of a Kanto professor.
No one knows who left it behind or what natural force it represents. Perhaps it draws from the power of the sky. But in later generations, it was overshadowed by the "Legendary Meteorites" and "Rainbow Meteors."
Those meteors—essential to Rayquaza's Mega Evolution—became legendary. The Verdant Orb faded into obscurity.
Compared to the tangible power of land and sea, the sky—defined only by wind and storm—could not crystallize easily. The Verdant Orb may have only been formed by rare coincidence.
In the manga, the green gem was artificially crafted to control Rayquaza. It allowed understanding of Rayquaza's thoughts. But this was revealed only after the orb had already lost all relevance.
"…Still, there might be some truth to it."
In Ross Mountain, a Hiker had commented that the soil there resembled Hoenn's.
Which meant… if Hoenn's energy crystals existed there, perhaps other parts of Unova held them too.
"A region that connects to most of the world… That's Unova."
"Whoever hid this orb in the chapel is long forgotten."
"There was that event during Black and White… a Rayquaza that knew V-Create."
The Verdant Orb still emitted a faint light, but no energy. What Hikaru felt was the touch of a wind that bathed all things.
Not light—but wind. Or perhaps a bright green current.
"To summon Rayquaza at a key place… the Dragonspiral Tower?"
"But there's no need. I don't have that kind of mission."
Hikaru sighed, looking at the orb—seemingly pointless now.
Blame Arceus or Rayquaza. After all, Rayquaza never got a Primal form—only Mega Evolution.
And this orb, which appeared only once, was meant just to summon it. So it was forgotten by time.
The Sky Pillar and Rainbow Meteors had taken over its role.
How pitiful.
To feel sympathy for a mere orb… But the Verdant Orb was a one-time-use, service-type item. Designed but never given real power. Meant to be a true natural crystal… and yet, surpassed by a flashy meteorite.
And somehow, Hikaru did sense a trace of sorrow from the orb.
It was the wind echoing… but maybe the orb did have a will. After all, in the anime and manga, the Red and Blue Orbs had the wills of Groudon and Kyogre—controlling those who tried to wield them.
From that perspective, the Verdant Orb was the safest of the energy beads.
Hikaru placed the Verdant Orb into his bag and, alongside Riolu and Larvesta, headed for Floccesy's famed hotel.
"All right, let's start making some Soda Pop. It's a special juice that helps Pokémon grow faster. I've got all the ingredients ready."
With the hotel receptionist's help, they entered the largest room. Hikaru requested some specialized tools. Naturally, a hotel in the Pokémon world would have a juicer ready—and soon enough, it arrived.
Hikaru released all his Pokémon.
Aegislash, Lilligant, Torterra, Walking Wake, Larvesta, Riolu, the phantom Entei… plus Deerling and Haxorus, soon to return home.
As for Deoxys, it floated midair in the form of a Master Ball. After all, its activity time was limited to three minutes. Hikaru wondered… what would happen if he fed it a Micle Berry? Would it grow faster?
Three of the Pokémon weren't his, making a total of ten.
He recalled that in the anime, Deoxys needed meteorite energy to grow?
The one that fought Rayquaza in the Arctic took three or four years to recover from core form. His Deoxys had been nourished by various droplets—so hopefully it wouldn't take that long…
Maybe.
He also recalled that electromagnetic fields disrupted Deoxys.
Entei stepped out and began inspecting the room. Hikaru chuckled, knowing what it was thinking.
"This doesn't compare to your Crystal Tower, does it?"
Entei: "I'm just observing human architecture with admiration. I wasn't comparing—well, maybe a little." It looked a bit sheepish.
The tower had a unique artistic flair, but that was mostly due to Molly and the Unown. Entei had just overseen it.
Well, a princess should live in a castle, right?
Hikaru handed Micle and Belue Berries to Lilligant, who cut them and planted them under the Entralink Tree on Torterra's back. The blessed tree, in fertile special soil, began to produce new fruit.
Thanks to the blessing from White Forest, the tree had undergone a miraculous transformation.
Seeing everyone gathered, Torterra swayed gently. Its powerful life force flowed into the tree, and soon, tiny fruits began to bloom and ripen rapidly.
They were Pearpet Berries.
Plop, plop—the fruits fell. Each Pokémon received one.
This fruit wasn't listed in any Berry Dex. It soothed the throat and tasted delicious.
Walking Wake, ever the glutton, devoured his with glee. The sweet juice filled his mouth—delightfully satisfying.
Even better than Pecha Berries!
This really was a forest treasure!
Thanks, Big Turtle!
Walking Wake rarely thanked other Pokémon—even Calyrex. But he showed genuine respect for Torterra.
After all, a mobile fruit buffet was a one-of-a-kind experience! Follow the turtle, and you'll never go hungry.
"Mmm… never seen this fruit before. But it's excellent," Entei praised it.
Larvesta roasted hers—filling the room with fragrance.
Riolu gobbled his down, while Aegislash and Lilligant absorbed the Berry's nutrients instead.
Nearby, Deerling walked to the window and stared out at the boats.
She knew this scene. She recognized this place.
Floccesy Town… Her homeland wasn't far now.
Deerling turned to Hikaru, nodding, and gently licked his hand in gratitude.
Haxorus watched her quietly. He could feel her desire to go home growing stronger.
But his own home… was still far away.
He didn't know how much time had passed since the Plasma Group took him. He couldn't count days. All he remembered was the fading image of a Trainer—once full of dreams of being a Dragon Master—who eventually gave him up.
Would returning home let him see his Trainer again?
Watching Deerling, Haxorus couldn't help but feel a sliver of hope.
"Here."
Suddenly, a glass of juice appeared in front of him.
Soda Pop, freshly made—fragrant and inviting.
Haxorus blinked and took the glass.
As a fellow Dragon Trainer, Hikaru comforted him:
"Don't worry. Let's rest well today—and head out again tomorrow."
