Just as Chiyo rampaged through the "Golden Sand Realm"...
Ebizo suddenly emerged from the sands, appearing in front of her.
"Sister? What are you doing here?" he asked, looking at her in surprise.
"Your tracking abilities are quite impressive. In terms of overall strength, you might even surpass your sister, Chiyo," a voice said as Rasa's figure slowly emerged.
"Who are you?"
Both siblings turned their gaze toward Danzo, who stood behind Rasa, their eyes filled with caution as they prepared to strike.
It seemed their meeting was no coincidence.
Danzo did not respond. Instead, he looked at Ebizo with a hint of curiosity.
This elder of Sunagakure, who was either fishing or in the library most of the time, had somehow managed to track Rasa inside the "Golden Sand Realm." Danzo had no idea what method he used, but he was able to consistently locate the Kazekage.
Moreover, his ability to navigate the "Golden Sand Realm" was far more methodical than Chiyo's.
This forced Danzo to reassess his understanding of the man.
"Rasa? You're controlling him... You were also the one who attacked the Daimyo…" Ebizo glanced at the expressionless Rasa, then fixed his sharp gaze on Danzo.
"You're quite intelligent, and skilled in sealing techniques. Unfortunately for you, so am I. I took the liberty of destroying the mark you just left behind," Danzo said, immediately exposing Ebizo's attempt to buy time.
"Let's go in together. I'll take the lead, you support me!" Chiyo commanded, waving her hands as dozens of puppets appeared around her.
"Fine, I've been wanting to move around a bit anyway," Danzo said with a smirk, stepping past the unresponsive Rasa.
As the dozens of puppets charged forward, Danzo swiftly formed hand seals.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Wave!"
Swoosh—Crack—
With a single sweeping motion, most of the puppets were sliced in half. The residual wind pressure forced Chiyo and Ebizo to dodge hastily. Even the golden sands in the distance were severed, though they quickly reformed.
A second sweep came immediately after, barely giving them time to evade.
"Too slow... Be careful now." Danzo finished speaking and rapidly formed seals again.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
A powerful gust of wind surged toward the two as they landed.
Whoosh whoosh—
From the surrounding golden sand, two puppets shot out—one fired senbon, while the other sprayed poisonous mist.
"Wind Release: Wind Pressure!"
Without forming any hand seals, Danzo released a visible shockwave from his body, repelling both the senbon and the poison while simultaneously crushing the two puppets.
Meanwhile, Ebizo had formed a protective barrier resembling the sealing technique used by the former One-Tails Jinchuriki, managing to withstand Danzo's attack.
However, judging by the strain on his face, it clearly wasn't easy.
"I had hoped for a good fight..." Danzo muttered, quickly losing interest in the battle.
His current strength seemed far beyond the typical Kage level. It was like an adult fighting children—completely one-sided and devoid of any challenge.
"Let's end this. Wood Release!"
The moment Danzo placed his hands on the ground, the earth trembled.
Countless branches emerged from beneath the sands, twisting and writhing like living creatures as they encased Chiyo and Ebizo.
Amidst the golden maze, streaks of green began to spread.
Ebizo clasped his hands together, forming a circular, intricate seal that enveloped both himself and Chiyo.
Like a glowing pearl, it stood out starkly against the dense forest of trees.
The branches and massive tree trunks coiled around them like serpents, constricting, encasing, and attempting to consume them.
Creak... Creak...
The symbols on the barrier flickered erratically.
"I can't hold on... Sister, prepare to escape!"
The circular seal began to shine brightly.
Boom!
With a loud explosion, debris scattered in all directions. The once tightly packed trees were blasted apart, creating an opening.
The two siblings swiftly darted out, only to find themselves surrounded once more by an overwhelming mass of tree branches.
———
Danzo approached slowly, the trees parting to make way for him, revealing the two captives ensnared in the branches.
"Who are you? How do you know Wood Release? What exactly are you planning?" Chiyo, now hanging upside down, weakly asked.
Her chakra had been nearly drained by the surrounding trees.
"Already forgetting so quickly? Chiyo, you really are getting old…"
"Danzo?!" Ebizo, who was tightly wrapped in branches with only his head exposed, called out uncertainly.
"You're sharp as always, Ebizo. So, are you interested in joining Root?"
"Don't even think about it, Danzo! We'd rather die than join Konoha!" Chiyo snapped furiously.
"It's not about joining Konoha, only Root... You would still govern Sunagakure, strengthening the village gradually..."
Danzo looked at Ebizo, recognizing his potential. Compared to the widely known Chiyo, Ebizo was actually much more valuable—exactly the kind of talent Root needed.
"Even if we refuse, you'll just use Pakura to control Sunagakure, right? And by now, the Land of Wind is probably already under your influence…" Ebizo had pieced everything together.
"What?! You… Danzo… How dare you?!" Chiyo's previously weak voice now carried a hint of rage.
"You're very perceptive. The Land of Wind and Sunagakure will flourish—there will be no more oppression by the nobles, no more unnecessary wars..."
Danzo locked eyes with Ebizo. He was confident that Ebizo understood the implications.
"Fine. I agree…"
Just then, Danzo felt a faint sense of restriction.
However, it was far too weak.
Whoosh—Thud!
Danzo tilted his head slightly, dodging the purple poisoned needle that shot from Chiyo's mouth.
The branch it struck immediately withered away.
"What a pity. You've made the wrong choice." Danzo's voice turned cold.
Since they couldn't be used, they had no reason to remain.
The previously motionless trees and forest began to tremble, slowly retracting into the earth.
"Brother… I'm sorry…" Chiyo said regretfully as she watched Ebizo being dragged underground.
"This was my choice as well. Let's hope the village won't suffer again..."
The green within the Golden Sand Realm faded bit by bit, as if it had never been there at all.
