For Noah, some things that needed to be disclosed really weren't a big deal.
Of course, he only mentioned matters related to the Infinity Stones. Nothing else.
There was no need. Even though Charles was very powerful-this guy had quietly reached the eighth tier, fifth level-he wasn't like Thor.
It wasn't that his potential was inferior to Thor's. Noah just didn't want to complicate things for no reason.
Besides, Thanos and those matters had nothing to do with Charles anyway. At least in the original storyline. Whether Charles knew or not didn't really matter.
So Noah only said that there was a terrifying individual collecting Infinity Stones, and that this person might do some things that weren't exactly good.
"I see." Charles nodded. "So you want to collect the stones in advance to fight him?"
"No, no need." Noah shook his head. "I already have five of the six stones. There's no need to collect more. The problem now is how to distribute them."
"..."
Charles looked at Noah, speechless.
Earlier, Noah had talked about how terrifying the stones were. Now he was saying he had already gathered almost all of them.
But Charles wasn't stupid. He understood immediately.
Noah had come to tell him these things, while deliberately concealing some unrelated details-such as how he obtained them.
To be honest, Charles wasn't curious about that. Noah clearly had his reasons for not saying more.
All Charles needed to know was that Noah had the stones and planned to distribute them, so that they could be prepared to face that formidable enemy in the future.
Rubbing his smooth head, Charles suddenly felt interested.
The Infinity Stones sounded genuinely fascinating, especially with their allegedly inexhaustible energy-power that, if used properly, could easily destroy a planet.
How could he not be interested?
But his interest wasn't about mastering them. He wanted to understand the difference between that power and ordinary power, and how such a gem was formed-its structure, its nature.
"You want to distribute these stones, and you came to me," Charles said with a smile. "That means you're considering me as one of the recipients, right?"
"Yes. This is the only stone I currently have." Noah shrugged. "To be honest, it suits your abilities very well. The Mind Stone. It's suitable for someone with 'mind powers' like you. Or rather, someone who excels at psychic abilities."
"Then wouldn't Jean also be suitable?"
"She would. But I'm still thinking about it. I need to confirm your attitudes first."
Confirming attitudes was necessary in matters like this.
It was the same with Wong and Thor. Thor was willing to shoulder the responsibility of holding a gem. Wong felt he didn't meet the requirements.
Thor had been reluctant at first too. But he was confident he could protect it and face any enemies that came with it, so he accepted.
Charles was different.
He was someone Noah knew well. Someone he trusted deeply. That made it even more important to ask carefully.
If it were Wanda or someone similar, Noah wouldn't bother as much. If she resisted, he could simply cast a spell. Even altering her subconscious wouldn't be difficult.
That kind of thing wouldn't be hard for Noah.
There might be problems later-what if she woke up?
But he wasn't too worried.
First, she was Erik's daughter. Second, Noah wouldn't necessarily go that far. And even if he did, he had more than enough people around him holding gems.
If he truly couldn't bring himself to do it, he could always wait for Strange.
Strange wasn't exactly easy to deal with, but he could still be controlled somehow.
The method might be unconventional, but it was undeniably effective.
"Alright. So accepting the gem means accepting certain responsibilities and obligations, right?" Charles said. He understood after listening for only a moment.
"Yes. Because it has to be that way." Noah shrugged. "The Infinity Stones are too dangerous. Some things need to be clear. Responsibility and obligation come together, so..."
"I understand." Charles smiled. "It seems I'll need to think it over carefully."
"You should." Noah nodded.
