Watching the glowing monitors, Celine's eyes never left them. Anticipation building, she hoped the monitors would give her what she hoped for.
And it did not fail her
Before her unblinking eyes, the jumble of letters lit one by one, until disappearing from the screen. Waiting unabashedly, her bright green eyes grew red as she stared at the screen, unblinking, praying, hoping that it worked.
And it did
Before her very eyes, after what seemed like aeons, two words popped up:
Hello World
With clenched hands, she yelled in the sky, roaring joyously at the two simple words floating on the screen.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
It had been nearly 3 months since she had managed to code her first-ever program, and she had come farther than she had ever known. As she walked down her pristine laboratory, two small Datanite crystals flew towards her, blinking a bright green, indicating that her simulation was a success.
Expression frenetic, she quickly walked to the large table in the centre of the room, surrounded by consoles of all manner. Displayed on top of the Datanite plate were several primitive holographic projections, each depicting several simulations, ranging from improved battle systems to building simulations.
But her gaze was focused on only the one in the center
A small model of an apple falling from the trees is constantly on loop, taking the time, distance, and initial and final velocity to calculate the gravitational value. She needed to have this found as soon as possible, for without this core value, their rocket ship will not know how much fuel it needs to carry, how much it needs to weigh for successful lift-off, how much cargo ot can carry etc.
Though there were other variables that needed research, this was the only one she could do at the moment, for to find the distance between the Moon and Earadun, they needed to build a telescope, and with the resources at hand, this might be an issue.
Sighing in resignation, Celine turned her gaze towards a table floating in the sky, constantly filling and updating with the data collected. Seeing that the storage crystals were about to burst, she quickly stopped her simulation, finally deciding to use these data points to plot a graph. Within milliseconds, the Datanite table managed to conjure a graph in the air, albeit messily. Damn it! If only I were a tier or two higher...
Shaking her head, she used the formulas she learned from 'Statistics and Probability for University Students 1' to find the slope, which showed the gravity value to be...
10 m/s*2
Content with the results, she began cleaning herself up (she did not shower for a fortnight). On the way to the door, she passed by a giant wall, where strings of all kinds criss-crossed the wall. Staring at them for a brief minute, she took a deep breath, before exiting the room. It may be a lot, but remember Celine, every journey begins with a single step...
At the top of the board were the words taht detailed her end goal–
Rocket Ship & Command Center Computer System
