Chapter 142 - A GLIMPSE OF THE SILHOUETTE

"I am too tired to sleep."

Jude sighs as he crawls into the bed, and I open the covers for him, my arm stretching out so that he will come closer. He settles on my side and I kiss the top of his head, exhaling as I sink deeper in the pillows.

"I know, me too," I say. "We are not in a hurry tomorrow, right? It will take us a while to adjust to the different time zone."

"No," his voice is hoarse. "We are not in a rush at all."

We fall into a comfortable silence, the room dark save for the glass wall, which offers a little light from the outside and the moon, creating a beautiful silhouette and ambiance.

"Why won't you ask?" Jude starts playing with my fingers. "I keep on waiting for you to ask me, but you aren't."

"What do you want me to ask?" I murmur in his hair, and he sighs tiredly.

"Why I am here instead of at my parents? Why I am not in a rush to go to the funeral that I came here to go to? Why I have been spiralling and acting like a train wreck?"
