Chapter 457 - Chapter 457: Konohamaru Team

While the twelve young heroes of Konoha were busy discussing what kind of gifts they should prepare for Naruto and Hinata's upcoming wedding, another trio — Naruto's "younger brothers" — were having their own discussion deep in the forest.

A light breeze rustled through the leaves. In a quiet clearing stood Konohamaru Sarutobi, his eyes fixed on a weathered old tree. His expression softened with nostalgia as a flood of memories filled his mind.

He could still picture it vividly — sitting right here years ago, chatting with Naruto-nii-san, who had been full of energy and ridiculous ideas. That was also the first time he witnessed Naruto's true strength.

"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu! …and the Sexy Jutsu combo!"

Konohamaru chuckled to himself. That absurd yet brilliant combination had floored poor Ebisu-sensei in a single blow. Even now, the image of Ebisu fainting with a nosebleed was burned into his memory.

He would never forget that day — the day his admiration for Naruto truly began.

So many years had passed since then. Konohamaru was no longer the brat who trailed behind Naruto shouting about being Hokage. He was now a capable jōnin and team leader — yet, deep down, he was still Naruto's proud little brother. And now… his brother was getting married.

Turning to his teammates, Konohamaru asked, "Udon, Moegi — have you guys thought about what kind of gift we should give Naruto-nii-san?"

Udon Ise, pushing up his glasses, looked thoughtful for a moment. Moegi Kazamatsuri, however, scratched her head. "Hmm… Naruto-nii likes ramen, right? Why don't we buy him a bunch of ramen coupons from Ichiraku? He'd love that!"

Konohamaru crossed his arms and nodded seriously. "Makes sense… yeah, that totally makes sense!"

Moegi immediately rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on! You two are hopeless. You can't just give him ramen coupons for his wedding! That's fine for a birthday, but not for a marriage gift!"

Udon tilted his head. "Why not? Ramen makes everyone happy."

Moegi sighed and gestured dramatically. "Because, Udon, this is a wedding. We're not just giving a gift to Naruto, we're giving it to Hinata-senpai too. It has to be something meaningful for both of them. You can't just think about what Naruto likes!"

Konohamaru blinked, then nodded again in realization. "That actually makes sense."

Udon muttered, "Oh… right. That's true." Then he asked curiously, "So, what do we give then?"

Moegi crossed her arms, thinking deeply. "It should be something symbolic. Something that shows how much we respect them both. Remember — Naruto's the hero of the entire shinobi world now. People will be sending all kinds of expensive gifts."

She sighed. "With what we've got, we can't compete with that. So instead, we need to give something that's meaningful and personal. Something that comes from us."

Konohamaru nodded with renewed determination. "You're right… it has to be something special."

Udon scratched his head. "That's easier said than done."

Moegi smirked. "Well, that's why we're thinking together! Between the three of us, we'll come up with something good."

Konohamaru paced for a moment, deep in thought. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "Wait… I've got it!"

Udon and Moegi looked at him curiously. "What is it?"

Konohamaru grinned. "You know why I brought you two here today, right? This spot — this exact place — is where Naruto-nii first showed me what being a ninja truly meant. It was right here that he used his Shadow Clone Jutsu and Sexy Jutsu to knock Ebisu-sensei flat! I still remember how proud I felt watching him back then."

"Whoa!" Udon gasped. "No way! As expected from Naruto-nii!"

Moegi's eyes softened with a smile. "Yeah… I can imagine it. That's so like him."

Konohamaru clenched his fists with enthusiasm. "I've been thinking — if I could relive that moment, I'd capture it forever. So here's my idea: let's make something that keeps Naruto's memories alive. Let's record it — not just that day, but this entire moment in time. His wedding, everyone's blessings, the preparations, the laughter — everything. We'll make it into a gift for Naruto and Hinata."

Udon blinked, then nodded rapidly. "You mean… like a movie?"

"Exactly!" Konohamaru said, grinning ear to ear. "We'll film everyone in the village giving their blessings, record the behind-the-scenes moments of the preparations, the decorations, and even us working hard! Then, we'll give the finished video to Naruto and Hinata as their wedding gift. It'll be something they can keep forever — something priceless."

Moegi's eyes widened in excitement. "That's… brilliant! It's creative, it's meaningful, and no one else will think of it! Konohamaru, that's an amazing idea!"

Udon clapped his hands together. "Yeah! We'll make a video full of everyone's love and memories!"

Konohamaru nodded, smiling. "Right. Not just a simple video — a message from everyone who's ever been part of Naruto's journey. Most people only record the ceremony itself, but we'll go beyond that. We'll capture the heart of it — the people, the preparation, the emotion before the big day. That's what makes it truly special."

Moegi beamed. "Yes! Breaking the usual tradition — that's totally your style, Konohamaru!"

Udon grinned. "Then the next step is simple: we buy a camera!"

Konohamaru pumped his fist. "Exactly. Let's go home, gather every bit of money we can find, and then we'll meet at the store."

"Got it!" Moegi and Udon said in unison.

The trio sprinted off through the village. Each of them went home and emptied out their drawers, piggy banks, and secret stashes of coins. Konohamaru even found a few keepsakes left by his grandfather, the Third Hokage, and reluctantly decided to pawn them.

"For Naruto-nii, this is nothing," he murmured to himself, tightening his grip on the small wooden box.

Later, the three of them met in front of the general store, each carrying bags full of coins and bills.

"Alright," Konohamaru said with a grin. "Let's do this!"

They spent over an hour browsing through different models. Finally, with the shopkeeper's advice, they picked out a shoulder-mounted camera with high resolution and durability — perfect for outdoor filming.

But when it came time to pay, the shopkeeper frowned slightly after counting the money.

"Uh… Master Konohamaru," the man said hesitantly. "You're still short a few hundred ryō."

Konohamaru blinked. "Wait, really?"

He quickly counted again — the total was indeed short.

Udon frowned. "Konohamaru, what do we do now?"

Moegi sighed. "I can run home and ask my parents for more."

Konohamaru shook his head. "No. I'll figure it out."

Turning to the shopkeeper, he asked politely, "Sir, could you maybe give us a discount? Just a little off?"

The shopkeeper smiled apologetically. "I wish I could, Master Konohamaru, but that's already the best price I can offer. I run a small business, you see…"

Konohamaru nodded, though a bit disappointed. "Alright, I understand."

Udon sighed. "Maybe we should get a cheaper one."

Konohamaru hesitated. He remembered the shopkeeper's earlier words — this camera had excellent clarity and stability. It would capture the emotion of every scene perfectly.

He clenched his fists. "No. I want this one. It's for Naruto-nii's wedding — it has to be perfect. Wait here, I'll go home and find a way!"

As he turned to leave, the shopkeeper suddenly stopped him.

"Wait — Master Konohamaru, what did you just say? You're buying this for what?"

Moegi quickly explained, "We're filming blessings for Naruto Uzumaki's wedding. This is for him!"

The shopkeeper froze — then broke into a wide smile. "Naruto's wedding? Why didn't you say so earlier?"

Konohamaru blinked. "Huh?"

The man laughed heartily. "For Naruto, this is nothing! Hold on a second!"

He hurried to the back of the store and came back carrying a larger, more advanced camera. "Here, take this one instead! The image quality's much better. Consider it my gift for Naruto!"

Konohamaru's eyes widened. "B-but this one's way more expensive!"

The shopkeeper waved it off. "Don't worry about it. Naruto saved this village — all of us owe him. It's the least I can do."

Overwhelmed, the three young shinobi bowed deeply. "Thank you so much, sir!"

As they turned to leave, the shopkeeper called out again, "Wait!"

Konohamaru turned, cradling the camera protectively. "Yes, sir?"

The man grinned. "Since you're recording blessings… could you record one for me too? I want to send my congratulations to Naruto!"

The three laughed warmly, nodding in unison. "Of course!
