Upon hearing this, Naruto rose immediately. "I'm coming, Toneri!" he called as he rushed out.
Opening the door, Naruto was surprised to find Orochimaru and Kabuto already inside, assisting with Toneri's procedure. The gauze that covered Toneri's eyes was being carefully removed.
"Huh?! Uncle Orochimaru, Kabuto, why are you here?" Naruto asked, startled.
Orochimaru stepped back, a faint smile curling his lips. "Haha, Naruto, don't forget—I performed this surgery. I could predict precisely when Toneri's eyes would be ready to open."
Kabuto added, "Naruto, you should know of my sensory abilities. Toneri's chakra is unique. Anyone with careful perception could detect it easily."
Naruto nodded, acknowledging the truth in their words.
Toneri sat upright, blinking as his vision adjusted. At first, only blurred light appeared, but gradually, clarity returned. His optic nerves were fully functional, and a vivid, detailed image emerged in his mind.
"Toneri? Are you alright?" a familiar voice asked.
Toneri turned to see Naruto clearly. "Naruto?!" His voice held a mix of relief and surprise.
Naruto smiled, nodding in reassurance. Toneri then shifted his gaze, recognizing Orochimaru and Kabuto, and inclined his head toward them in greeting.
"Toneri, how do you feel?" Naruto asked, concern in his tone.
Toneri nodded, satisfaction in his expression. "These eyes… they suit me perfectly. Thank you, Naruto."
Naruto grinned. "It's nothing. Actually, Uncle Orochimaru collected these eyes. Without him, you wouldn't have them."
Toneri glanced at Orochimaru and Kabuto. "Thank you," he said sincerely. Though he had only just opened his eyes, his mind already memorized the unique chakra signatures of both men.
Orochimaru smiled slightly. "As long as Naruto needs it, I will assist. Toneri, as the last guardian of the Ōtsutsuki clan on Earth, I hope you might allow me to study any records you have about your clan."
Kabuto's gaze was equally expectant.
Toneri's eyes dimmed slightly in hesitation. Orochimaru chuckled, clarifying, "Don't misunderstand. We drew some of your blood during the surgery not to harm you, but to study the unique properties of the Ōtsutsuki lineage."
Toneri raised an eyebrow. "Have you discovered anything?"
Kabuto smiled, nodding. "Indeed, we made a remarkable discovery. From your blood, we extracted a substance that is both consumable and decomposable. We experimented with various substances, but it was only when we applied chakra during formation of the seals that we saw its full effect."
Toneri's eyes narrowed. "And… what is its purpose?"
Orochimaru's expression turned serious. "This substance in your blood can rapidly consume and decompose chakra."
Naruto's eyes widened, absorbing the significance. Orochimaru continued, "In other words, the Ōtsutsuki clan can consume another person's chakra, break it down almost instantly, and convert it into their own chakra."
Toneri fell silent, knowing the truth instinctively. The Hamura Ōtsutsuki had never actively used this trait. The only exception had been executed by the village elders, and the technique was classified as forbidden.
Kabuto spoke again, "The amount of chakra that can be absorbed is staggering. We only extracted a tiny fraction of your blood, yet when we applied chakra to test its potential, the conversion ratio was nearly one to ten thousand."
Naruto considered this. "No wonder that enemy could throw massive amounts of chakra around and consume so much."
Orochimaru glanced at him curiously. "Naruto, you seem to have anticipated this."
Naruto nodded. "I fought the Ōtsutsuki before. They can absorb chakra and convert it efficiently, and their capacity is immense."
Toneri looked surprised. "You… fought the Ōtsutsuki?"
Naruto nodded. "Yes. But not the Ōtsutsuki you think of—the descendants of Hagoromo and Hamura. I am speaking of the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki, the ones from the stars, seen in visions and reincarnation projections."
He continued, "They came to Earth seeking chakra fruits. To protect the village, I engaged them. They were incredibly strong, absorbing my chakra in battle and feeding off it. Momoshiki, for instance, absorbed Kinshiki into a chakra fruit to enhance himself. Had Sasuke and I not intervened, Earth might have been drained completely."
Toneri blinked, astonished. "I've monitored Earth… but I never saw such a battle."
Naruto waved a hand. "Of course you didn't. I'm speaking of events that will occur in the future."
"Future?" Toneri's brow furrowed.
Naruto explained, "I know because I have returned from the future. The Ōtsutsuki from the stars constantly search for planets rich in life, plant sacred trees, produce chakra fruits, and harvest them. Kaguya, the Sage of Six Paths and Hamura's mother, was one of them sent to Earth to plant the sacred tree and harvest its fruits. She disobeyed the clan and integrated into human society."
He continued, "By consuming the fruit, she gained immense power. Yet the sacred tree itself never withers. She ensured the balance of the tree by sacrificing living beings to appease it."
"The Sage of Six Paths and Hamura discovered the truth, allied to stop her, and ultimately sealed Kaguya." Naruto's voice grew solemn. "Soon, the Ōtsutsuki will send Momoshiki and Kinshiki to investigate her disappearance. That is the battle I may face."
Toneri stood, resolve shining in his eyes. "I will assist you if they come."
Naruto smiled, patting his shoulder. "Those two aren't the real threat. I am far stronger now than before. I might even face Momoshiki and Kinshiki alone. But after them… the true enemy awaits, beyond the stars."
