Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki and Kinshiki were approaching!
Sasuke's eyes narrowed slightly. He had already shared Naruto's memories of their previous encounters with these two foes. He remembered the battles from their past lives vividly—the overwhelming power, the coordinated attacks, the terrifying ability of Momoshiki to condense and consume Chakra fruits directly. In this life, Naruto had also explained everything in advance, warning him that the first confrontation outside their respective domains would be with these two formidable Ōtsutsuki.
After absorbing all the information, Sasuke turned to Naruto with a serious expression. "Naruto… what do you think?"
Naruto shrugged, a hint of amusement in his expression. "I've already seen it with my Samsara Eye. What else can I see?"
Sasuke's lips pressed into a thin line. "That's not exactly reassuring…"
Naruto laughed, giving Sasuke a friendly pat on the shoulder. "Relax. It was just a little joke."
Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Not funny."
Naruto grinned, ignoring the protest. "Anyway, let me tell you what Toneri thinks. He believes that since we both have the capability to defeat these two, it would be best to confront them in the moon's vicinity, or somewhere far from Earth. Fighting them on the planet would inevitably cause widespread destruction."
Sasuke nodded thoughtfully. Memories from the previous life reinforced this caution. He remembered that Momoshiki could directly absorb Chakra from anyone, condensing it into a fruit-like form to consume immediately. Kinshiki, too, was no less formidable. If they reached a tailed beast… the destructive power unleashed would be catastrophic.
"I agree," Sasuke said quietly, "but I have one question. How will we know when they reach the moon?"
Before Naruto could answer, Toneri stepped forward. "I will monitor their positions. When they approach this region of space, I will provoke them, then alert you so you can respond directly."
Sasuke nodded in approval. Toneri continued, thinking aloud, "Perhaps I won't even need to provoke them. They should already sense someone observing them. During my last survey, I noticed Momoshiki's gaze—there was a faint, enigmatic smile directed at me. He may already be aware of our presence."
Naruto's eyes narrowed. "Momoshiki must have sensed it, then."
Toneri's expression became more serious. "And their speed has changed. They've accelerated compared to previous observations. I estimate they could reach this region of space within a week."
Sasuke immediately turned to Naruto. "Naruto, should we inform Kakashi and the Five Kage about this? If we do nothing, and they bypass the moon and head directly for Earth, what then? The chances of survival could be minimal."
Naruto considered this carefully. Originally, he had planned to keep this information discreet to prevent widespread panic. But Sasuke's reasoning made sense—if an emergency occurred and no one was prepared, the consequences could be disastrous.
Sasuke continued, his tone strategic and measured. "Also, Naruto, since Toneri estimates they'll arrive within a few days, we should notify the Five Great Nations immediately. Then, we can monitor them with Toneri from the moon and strike by surprise when the moment comes. It ensures minimal risk and maximum efficiency."
Naruto smiled faintly, impressed. In this life, Sasuke was beginning to think like he had in their previous lives, giving practical advice and planning ahead. Well, if Sasuke suggested it, it was worth doing.
"Alright," Naruto said, nodding. "We'll follow your plan."
He turned to Sasuke. "Let's thank Toneri and return to Earth."
With a buzz from the Flying Thunder God, Naruto and Sasuke disappeared from the moon and arrived back on Earth as night fell. Naruto considered postponing discussions until morning, but Sasuke immediately addressed the urgency.
"We should contact Teacher Kakashi tonight," Sasuke said seriously. "Otherwise, waiting until morning to notify the Five Kage could waste precious hours."
Naruto, recognizing Sasuke's resolve, nodded. "Agreed. Let's do as you suggest."
Sasuke placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Then let's find Kakashi immediately."
Without hesitation, the two activated Flying Thunder God. In a split second, they appeared in Kakashi's bedroom. The dim light in the room couldn't hide the scene from their sharp eyes.
Naruto immediately realized the situation—Kakashi was engaged in some form of sparring or training with Shizune. Embarrassment flared as he pulled Sasuke back. So this is what he meant by urgency…
Within moments, Naruto redirected them to the moon. Toneri's face turned red as he witnessed their sudden arrival.
"Again? Are you here to admire the scenery?" Toneri asked incredulously.
Naruto nodded nonchalantly. "Yeah… let's just look at the scenery for a bit."
Sasuke, playing along, added, "Yes… admire the stars."
Naruto raised a hand, pointing at the star-filled expanse. "Sasuke, see? Those are real stars, each shining individually."
Sasuke's eyes widened slightly as he looked up. "It's… beautiful. So starry."
Toneri shook his head, muttering under his breath, clearly amused and slightly exasperated. He returned to monitoring the approaching Ōtsutsuki, leaving the two men to their momentary reprieve.
Sasuke, still processing the embarrassment from their rushed visit to Kakashi, realized Toneri had observed them. His mind raced—Toneri had said "again," implying this was not their first sudden appearance. Had Naruto really appeared in Kakashi's room just as he had suspected?
Before he could voice the thought, Naruto gently placed a hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "We'll deal with Kakashi tomorrow. For now… let's return."
With a synchronized buzz, both disappeared from the moon, leaving Toneri to continue his vigilant watch over the approaching Ōtsutsuki.
The plan was set. Earth and the moon would be prepared, Naruto and Sasuke were ready, and Toneri stood guard. The countdown had begun.
