Chapter 1 - The beginning

It's that pain again, It was the first thing that greeted him. That damn pain I have every night waking up from the nightmare. Not a sharp kind of pain, but like a thing is curling & twisting borrowing deep into my brain.

Elias gasped, his breath ragged, his limbs trembling beneath a damp shirt clinging to his chest. He felt like he had run a marathon through a storm—sweat-drenched, cold, shaking. His hands clutched his heart like stopping it from floating off. Or cracking apart.

I stayed there for a while, breathing through the pain, slowly coming back to reality. A reality he wished was a nightmare and not real.

A reality where he awoke in a forest, surrounded by trees towering like skyscrapers.

He had no idea where he was—no sense of direction, no familiarity.

And deep down, he wasn't even sure this was Earth.

The night sky felt distant, unfamiliar. There were no familiar stars, no single moon watching over him—just two moons, hanging silently in the sky.

Seeing the 2 moons, he thought he was trapped in some kind of nightmare. But nightmares don't hurt like this. Not like this.

As he reflected on his first memory of this cursed place, he slowly rose from the hiding spot he had found.

It had been seven days since he first awoke in this unfamiliar, hostile world.

At the beginning, there was nothing—no memory of what had happened, how he got here, or even who he was.

He had simply lain there for what felt like an hour, unmoving, doing nothing… just breathing.

As he tries to piece together who he is or how he got here. That's when this cursed headache started. Whenever he tries to remember his past, he gets this headache. It's like something trying to burrow into his head. The only good thing is he started remembering, amid slowly. But he remembered.

My name is Elias Renn Varces. I was a scientist—one who studied ancient artifacts and historical relics back on Earth. That much I remembered... after the first headache.

Well my second headache brought with it another memory—or rather, a name: ARACUS.

The company he had worked at for the past seven years.

He knew the number exactly because his last clear memory from that time was celebrating his 7th work anniversary with his colleagues at Aracus.

As he lingered in thoughts of the past, his mind was suddenly jolted back to the present by a sound— a voice. A human voice. The first he had heard in the last seven days.
