Before long, the massive city gates appeared not far ahead of Wei Yang.
Outside the city, a long line of people stretched out in a winding queue. The noisy, chaotic clamor spread outward, making one's ears buzz from the sheer volume.
Looking at the many shirtless, brawny men packed together—flaunting muscular builds and savage scars—Xian'er and Qing Lin, standing beside Wei Yang, both furrowed their brows slightly and instinctively stepped a little closer behind him.
Wei Yang also frowned as he looked at the unruly and foul crowd ahead.
With his mild obsession for cleanliness, he already found it hard to bear such scenes—let alone the two women.
A pungent wave of sweaty stench swept over them.
Sensing the clear distaste from Wei Yang and the two mistresses, Ah Da quickly stepped forward. Beneath the shadow of his hood, his narrowed eyes swept across the gate area ahead.
A moment later, a cold and sinister aura slowly radiated from Ah Da's body, silently spreading and enveloping the entire gate front region.
In an instant, the crowd at the gate felt like they had been plunged into an icy abyss. Many started shivering uncontrollably from the sudden cold.
The previously noisy atmosphere was instantly silenced.
Everyone turned their heads with looks of horror and alarm.
Ah Da didn't bother saying a word. An invisible wave of chilling energy surged outward, gently pushing the crowd to both sides—opening a clear, wide passage.
No one dared resist. Not that they could.
After this, Ah Da finally turned around and slightly bowed.
This scene made everyone's pupils contract. Their feet instinctively shuffled further back, allowing the five figures to pass.
Ignoring the stunned stares around them, Wei Yang and his group walked straight toward the gates and approached a purple gate beside the main entrance.
Guarding this purple gate were over a dozen robust men in tight pale-yellow uniforms, standing ramrod straight.
The powerful aura emanating from their bodies made even the boldest in the normal line too afraid to get close. Those queuing could only lower their heads and follow the flow slowly toward the other entrance.
This purple gate was specially established by the Black Emperor Sect for renowned powerhouses within the Black-Corner Region—a private entrance for the strong.
But if one didn't have at least the strength of a Dou Huang, don't even think about entering through here.
Wei Yang's group of five halted before the purple gate, and the sharp gazes of the dozen guards immediately locked onto them.
Then, an elderly laugh rang out.
"Hehe, friends, this gate is reserved exclusively for Dou Huang experts. If your strength isn't up to par, I'll have to ask you to take another route."
A yellow-robed old man holding a tobacco pipe stepped out leisurely, his gaze sweeping over the five with a hint of inquiry. He smiled kindly as he spoke.
Clearly, the old man had seen what had just happened outside and had come out to probe their background.
"I wonder what your esteemed names are? Which force might you be from?"
Wei Yang stood with his hands behind his back, not replying. He merely gave the old man a flat glance.
Just a mere Five-Star Dou Wang. Not even worth his time.
Ah Da stepped forward and leaned in, transmitting a few words via soul voice transmission, then subtly pulled back the sleeve of his robe—just enough to flash a faint golden token underneath before swiftly hiding it again.
The old man's eyes instantly narrowed. A flicker passed through his gaze before his face bloomed into a respectful smile. He turned toward Ah Da and said, "Ah, so it's Elder You!"
"Mhm," Ah Da responded casually, then frowned slightly and said, "Can we go in now?"
"Yes, yes! Of course you may enter. Elder You, you are a distinguished guest of our Black Emperor Sect. How could we possibly refuse you?" The yellow-robed elder nodded repeatedly and quickly stepped aside with a welcoming gesture.
"Elder You, every time you come, it's always in such a hurry. Our Black Emperor Sect has yet to properly host you."
The yellow-robed elder continued with a courteous smile: "Black Emperor City is quite overcrowded at the moment. Finding a decent place to stay won't be easy.
However, our Black Emperor Sect has a dedicated residence prepared for experts from the Black-Corner Region, known as the Black Emperor Pavilion."
"If Elder You has need, you may go to the center of the city at any time. Someone will be there to arrange accommodations for you. Those who stay there are all renowned figures of the Black-Corner Region."
"Understood," Ah Da replied casually, showing little interest. He turned around and looked toward Wei Yang, giving a slight respectful bow.
That action caused the yellow-robed elder's eyes to narrow again.
But he was sharp enough to not pry or press further.
Under Ah Da's lead, Wei Yang's group of five stepped forward and walked through the purple gate, disappearing into the shadows of the city gate tunnel.
Staring after the figures as they vanished from sight, the yellow-robed elder narrowed his eyes and waved a hand, beckoning a subordinate. He whispered:
"Go report this to the sect immediately. Tell the Elders that that mysterious Elder You has arrived—and more importantly, there's someone with him who may very well be that rumored peak Tier 6 Alchemist backing Elder You."
"Yes, sir!" the subordinate answered respectfully and turned to leave at once.
The old man gently tapped his tobacco pipe against his palm as he muttered to himself with narrowed eyes: "Something big must be happening in the sect lately. The Sect Master and Elders are all unusually solemn. The entire Black Emperor City may appear normal, but it's secretly under heightened alert."
"Now, at a time like this, that mysterious Elder You shows up again—and along with him, that peak Tier 6 Alchemist who's rumored to be supporting him from the shadows also appears. Both arrive here, in our Black Emperor City…"
"Sigh… Let's hope this turns out to be a good thing."
After walking through the slightly dim tunnel under the city gate—a harsh burst of sunlight suddenly poured down from above. The clamor of the crowd once again flooded over them like a relentless wave of noise.
Through the shadow cast by his cloak, Wei Yang gazed at the massive city that now unfolded before him. On the wide streets, the crowd bustled in every direction.
Used to the peace and simplicity of the remote Qingshan City, the group couldn't help but express a bit of awe at the lively scene before them.
This Black Emperor City was even grander than the capital of the Jia Ma Empire.
Within the Black-Corner Region, it was considered one of the top-ranking cities.
"Master, where shall we head to next? Are we going straight to the Black Emperor Sect?" Ah Da asked softly.
"No rush. Let's have a look around first—we'll go to the Black Emperor Pavilion," said Wei Yang calmly.
Ah Da frowned slightly and cautioned: "Master, the Black Emperor Pavilion is under the control of the Black Emperor Sect. My presence will undoubtedly have already drawn their attention.
And given the way I act toward you… they will surely guess that you are the mysterious peak Tier 6 Alchemist rumored to be standing behind me."
Over the years, acting under the name Elder You, Ah Da had distributed many high-tier pills to major factions.
Naturally, many powers within the Black-Corner Region had already begun to suspect that a peak Tier 6 Alchemist must be backing him.
Now that Han Feng had fallen, there was no longer any peak Tier 6 Alchemist publicly active in the entire Black-Corner Region.
So one could only imagine the weight and value of such a figure.
A mysterious peak Tier 6 Alchemist supporting Elder You?
That was a prize every faction in the region would want to get their hands on.
But Wei Yang merely smiled and said: "I want them to know. Rather than me going to them, it's better if they come to me. There's a big difference between acting proactively and being passively approached."
"Master is wise. I understand now," Ah Da said, his eyes lighting up with realization.
Since they didn't want to alert the enemy...then might as well lure the snake out of its hole.
Surely, upon receiving news that a peak Tier 6 Alchemist had arrived, the Black Emperor Sect wouldn't miss such a chance to reach out or form ties.
